Multiple Needs Met
What do you like best about the product?
The challenge I had was to take our existing Brightspace deployment and expand it into a new, two-year, multi-course certification program with specialization electives and a capstone course...which was accomplished!
What do you dislike about the product?
The power of the platform is its extensibility, but that comes with a cost of complexity to learn...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating a completely new, modern curriculum, with as much video and interactive content as possible. I have a large community of marketing professionals to pull from in terms of SME, and Brightspace allowed me to use many aspects of written, video and peer-to-peer content usage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Evaluate on real world needs...not on future concepts.
The enviroment is easy and complete.
What do you like best about the product?
All he help tools you can access to and solve, almost anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my experience, we had three incidents where even the support team couldn't find the problem about a case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The management of different courses with different people and the management of all their information. We need fast and easy ways to recover all the activities the customers (students) made, and we have found it with D2L in an effortless action.
Easy navigation, favor the use of pedagogy, adaptable to any teaching method.

What do you like best about the product?
The design of the page is much better than the one my university used beforebefore (blackboard). Also I love having a progress bar that lets me know when I missed some content.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is hard to find things inside the classes I am, as things open directly below instead of to the side, like the iPad File manager does for example. Also it doesn't have it's own meeting platform.
For some reason YouTube Videos can't be watched on fullscreen or show the runtime of the video but that could be because of my device.
Also, while I love the status bar in classes, you should let the teacher choose which documents are part of that system and then the student check off when they have watched it. This could make that system like a homework list, making it more usefull in my opinion.

It shows a preview of the documents or pages without having to enter in them and it has a button that lets me download or open the document on a separate page if I want to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To teachers, maybe planning at least the basic structure of classes in the site first.
To students, watching all the contents as soon as they´re up, as sometimes it can be buggy.

4. A good mobile experience. Pulse the mobile app works very well with an experience equivalent to the web.
5. learning analytics are key to understand the students' performance.
6. The students' portfolio that helps to have evidence and traceability of the learning progress, academic achievements, and learning standards
7. The support and help desk 24-7 of D2L is very very useful.

The video conferencing tool is not as robust as other options like zoom or teams. We decide to integrate zoom and teams with Brigthspace to have a complete experience in the LMS. Bongo is still in development.

We were transforming our education models and the processes of teaching and learning, we needed a flexible and modern LMS. In a comprehensive and hands-on assessment of the top 5 LMS in the market, Brightspace was the best option due to its functionalities, user experience, support, and cost-benefit relation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an excellent LMS, I recommend evaluating it vs other options with a probe of concept, because when you use it vs others you will find the difference, especially because of the user experience and features.
It is also important to include training and transition time. For us was very useful the service of help desk 24-7 direct from D2L. They answered in Spanish the questions and requests of our professors.
Additionally, institutions need to understand personalized learning experiences don't depend only on the platform, professors need to think in their pedagogical approaches.

Which is an excellent LMS solution to support the teaching-learning processes for e-learning, be-learning and m-learning environments, it has the precise tools and integrations with third-party software to further enrich the experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some aspects to improve in the content interface, such as a better use of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some small operating bugs in very specific tools. As for the benefits, the constant improvement of the product and listening to the customer's needs is very good.

Have them test the solution and then decide if it meets their needs.

It is a friendly user environment that allows starting using it without hours of training.
Also, it's talking with Google tools that are helpful. Brightspace is an outstanding MLS where you can add lessons, assignments, announcements, send emails, etc.

The way my admin chooses to see the content for students.
There's no chance to create quarter groups of grades.
When you copy a part of a unit, it makes a double unit on the destination.

I solved the problem I faced working in hybrid mode; D2L allowed me to record instructions to my Distance Learning students.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your school works with semestral courses or quarter grades, you have to reconsider how you are creating your grade book. You'll need to change some things before to start adding grades on the grade book.

The reports that are more detailed, at least in templates, should be generated.

It is an easier way to virtualize classes.

Yes, I recommend it because it is a very comprehensive platform for users who may not be able to manage. It is very, very good. I like it a lot.

I don't know how to conduct exams securely. The random function for exam questions works very poorly. It repeats the same questions several times and doesn't make much difference between one exam and another. I didn't use it again.

The ease with which students can consult class recordings helps a lot.

What do you like best about the product?
It is comfortable, interactive and, resourceful. It allows the student to have many tools that improve their educational processes. It allows me to access all the contents of my courses easily, and it gives me feedback so that I am aware of all my academic activities. In addition, it has an organized disposition of all my classes, and that has created positive incentives for me to be organized when doing all my academic activities.
I also like the images it shows, it allows teachers to design interactive courses, it is more than just PDFs with articles, it gives us the possibility to interact through videos, discusions and different contents.

What do you dislike about the product?
Many features have not been well communicated in my university, restricting the parts that I can use from the platform. Also, many teachers only use the basic features, which can also become a disadvantage. There are certain connection requirements that when not met, create obstacles to use the platform. This means that in certain areas, where the connection is not great, using D2L Brightspace becomes impossible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've had issues accessing specific content, and D2L Brightspace has made these experiences much simpler. I've worked in many groups, and the platform has offered tools that have made contact much more accessible. I am a Teaching Assistant, and the grading process is straightforward when using the platform. It has allowed me to contact other students with no trouble.
