What do you like best about the product?
Milestone VMS is a rock solid solution for anyone that rely on their monitoring system. Failure is not an option with Milestone. Customer support is always there for you and the basic installation is fairly simple. The end user environment is really simple to understand for the everyday user.

Everything has a price and Milestone is no exception. More lightweight options at entry level pricing woult make it easier to sell in and upgrade smaller customers.
The integration of AI is still very complicated in comparsion with other more open systems.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manufacturing in harsh environment would require full environment suites for all personell. Now we can survey the whole process from a control room and just sen in live staff when considered necessary. It a big deal!
Good Product - On Prem - Easy to maintain

We have had some issues in the past where streams would timeout and not reconnect. A large effort was spent finding a solution to this. Fix ended up being using a much older Smart Client.

My organization benefits many more due to Milestone VMS implements and its features
A robust solution for video management and security
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease with which I can manage and view the different cameras from a single place. The platform is intuitive and allows me to supervise multiple locations quickly and orderly, which greatly improves efficiency in daily monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don't like is that I haven't found video manuals or detailed tutorials that explain how to set up all the tools the software offers. It would be very useful to have more visual resources to make the most of its advanced features, especially for those who don't have technical training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Milestone, we have been able to centralize the monitoring of several cameras into a single system, which we previously did with different programs. This saves us time, improves organization, and allows us to act more quickly when an event occurs. We also benefit from having remote access and the ability to easily review recordings, which greatly aids in decision-making.
Web UI for the win!
What do you like best about the product?
We like the ability for all of our users to access Milestone via the web interface. We have 50% Windows users and 50% Mac. We needed to find a solution that everyone can use and Milestone fit that bill for us. We are considering the integration with BriefCam to utilize smart features to save time and find more footage.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is room for improvement. We'd like a smoother easier to use interface. Coming from Lenel LNVR we feel that it worked a bit easier and smoother.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Milestone to review video when something on our campus has happened for which we need video confirmation or evidence. We use it for vandalism, stolen items, car accidents, abandoned vehicles, and abandoned garbage near our dumpsters.
Reliable Video Management with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Milestone XProtect accommodates our needs well when it comes to scalability and customizability. The platform provides a robust video management system with extensive support for cameras and seamless integration with third-party tools. It enables easy provisioning and management of cameras while also incorporating a number of powerful tools such as being able to easily implement custom rules to tailor to our specific requirements. The user interface makes monitoring and retrieving footage efficient, even in large deployments.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've encountered some issues with the 'Add Hardware' feature of the Management Client, which has been documented by some other users online. We received prompt and personalised support from Milestone for this issue, and to their credit they were able to work with us for a workaround, however this issue has re-occurred so it does raise potential concerns about the long-term reliability of some features.
Resource usage on the Smart Clients can also become very high, even on more powerful systems which meet or exceed the requirements recommended/outlined by Milestone, so optimizing camera settings/streams is crucial, especially more-so with larger deployments.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've previously used individual HIKvision NVRs, however this was not going to be suitable for a large scale deployment. Milestone XProtect is able to consolidate our NVRs, IoT devices, cameras etc. for simplified management, and it offers far more powerful (and plentiful) features that other industry alternatives. The ability for it to run on a Windows Server also ensures accessibility for administrators who are less experienced with Unix based alternatives.
