Avanan - Leading the way to a better day
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan offers complete protection within the cloud and all the supporting apps that are secured within the solution. Very user-friendly product and affordable for just about any company looking to boost their email security.
What do you dislike about the product?
More granular reporting and won't catch every phishing attempt out their but what solution can do that?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avanan helps protect your MS environment and other supporting applications you have from being targeted by phishing attempts, malware, and ransomware extortion. It does all of this very efficiently and effectively.
Gateway configuration not needed
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan, at the time of this review, is one of the few email security providers to work in line with Google Workspaces rather than setting up a gateway out front. This capability provides a simple setup and the ability to get an accurate depiction of its effectiveness during a trial. Avanan also uses some solid security engines for its phishing detection, DLP detection and click-time protection. It offers a lot of capability in one product and builds on what Google already offers in its enterprise suite.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some bugs in the interface where workarounds are necessary. There is also a gap in user roles available where more granular permissions would be appropriate. I do not like any admin being able to see the whole org's mailflow. This has been brought to Avanan's attention and will hopefully be remedied shortly. The DLP solution is alert only and cannot be automatically acted upon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have better protection from phishing attacks, easier mitigation controls, and visibility into DLP.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and has a ton of features. Easy to deploy as well.

There is nothing to dislike. It is a great product.

It blocks a lot of spam emails. Has decreased the chance of attacks.
Avanan o365 Security
What do you like best about the product?
The very fast GUI interface, quick implementation, and the report part,
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is too blue. But Avanan support assures me that they will implement another color schema.

We have implemented webmail security solutions based on artificial intelligence.
Excellent Email Protection Service
What do you like best about the product?
The service is reliable and I feel like my email is being protected with 0 doubt and I like that It's easy to deploy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the restoration service could be faster
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email security and don't need to waste time checking for scam emails. More time during the day and peace of mind.

What do you like best about the product?
Our organization appreciated the ability to scan O365, Box, and Teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a slight learning curve going from a gateway appliance spam filter to one that filters through Microsfot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving issues with spam, phishing, and malicious files in OneDrive and Box. Security is essential to us, so having eyes on our cloud storage environment has been beneficial.

What do you like best about the product?
Avanan is very good at giving granular details that other tools may skip over.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI is sometimes hard to navigate so it takes getting used to.

I solve problems within client's environments to help investigate emails and filter spam emails from reaching the user.
Avanan email security
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan is a competitive priced email security solution. The product was very quick to set up. It integrates with the O365 tenant. Product provides the ability to support multiple email domains. It also features customizable email policies for phishing and spam. There are additional options available to protect Teams, SharePoint, and DLP. You can easily search for emails and take action on them. There is an option to see the body of the email. The attachments are scanned for viruses. Links in the body of the email are rewritten to provide a safe link for the user to click on. Overall a great product for the price and doesn't require a Ph.D. to use the product. They also offer free online training videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found much about the product that I dislike. However, as Avanan is still reasonably new product compared to other products in the email security space, it is still evolving. As such, you may want to request a feature update that is already available in other products. This will mean you may have to wait for some time until the feature is integrated and a product update is made available. I haven't run across too many of these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phishing is one of the most effective ways threats can infiltrate the environment. Avanan helps to solve the problem of phishing in the environment by blocking and filtering these attacks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Avanan sales team provided a quick turnaround for a quote, easy based on user count. The deployment team connected the product to our O365 tenant and completed the setup up in only 5 minutes. Avanan is cloud based and offers protection for Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. The user interface is easy to use, and has a quick glance dashboard. Their support team is very responsive and it is easy to open a support ticket. Geo location provides the ability to see if threats are logging in from other countries.

What do you like best about the product?
Avanan is a great product. It helped us secure our email domain by stopping the many phishing emails that make it past traditional mail gateways. We feel more secured with Avanan.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I dislike about Avanan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vulnerability to malware, spam, and phishing. With Avanan, we feel more secure.
Highly Recommend Avanan to enhance your Office365 Security
What do you like best about the product?
We love Avanan! - Works wonderfully with our MS Office365 and blocks many phishing and spam emails that Office365 does not catch. Additionally, we utilize DLP to automatically encrypt outbound emails. Very easy to setup and use as well... I highly recommend adding Avanan to your Office365 email and OneDrive!

Nothing to dislike - there are a couple of small features that I would like added to the arsenal...
