Email security has strengthened protection and now stops advanced phishing and BEC attempts
What is our primary use case?
The primary use case for Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is to protect our organization's email environment from phishing, malware, ransomware, business email compromise (BEC), and other advanced email-based threats. We use it to secure both inbound and outbound email traffic, ensuring safe communication across the organization.
What is most valuable?
We have been using Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for over one year and have had a very positive experience with its security capabilities and ease of management.
Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) has had a positive impact by significantly reducing the number of phishing, malware, and BEC attempts that reach end-users. This has lowered the risk of credential theft and other email-based attacks. It has also improved our security team's efficiency by automating threat detection, quarantining, and alerting, which reduces manual effort. The centralized dashboard gives us better visibility into email threats, making investigations and reporting much faster. Overall, it has strengthened our email security posture while allowing users to work with fewer security-related disruptions.
The best features of Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration), in my opinion, are AI-powered phishing and BEC protection, ThreatCloud intelligence, advanced URL and attachment protection, easy integration with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace , centralized management and reporting, and automated threat response. The feature I rely on the most is the AI-powered phishing and BEC protection. Email remains one of the most common attack vectors, and phishing campaigns are becoming increasingly sophisticated. This feature does an excellent job of identifying suspicious emails based on sender behavior, content, URLs, and other indicators before they reach users.
One aspect I really appreciate is how all the features work together rather than as separate components. The AI-powered detection, ThreatCloud intelligence, URL and attachment protection, and centralized management provide layered security. I also appreciate that the solution is cloud-native, integrates well with Microsoft 365, and requires minimal administrative overhead.
What needs improvement?
Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is a strong solution, but there are a few areas where it could be improved. The reporting and dashboard could offer more customizable views and executive-level reports. Policy configuration for advanced use cases could be simplified to reduce the learning curve for new administrators. Integration with third-party SIEM or SOAR platforms could be expanded to make automated incident response even more seamless.
While the core protection is very strong, there are a few enhancements that could improve the overall experience, such as user onboarding for first-time administrators, especially when configuring advanced policies.
If I had to select one area, it would be more control over reporting and customization. Security teams and executives often need different views of the same data. Having more flexibility in creating custom reports and dashboards would be a significant improvement.
Overall, the remaining improvements are mostly around usability and operational efficiency rather than core security.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for over one year and have had a very positive experience with its security capabilities and ease of management. Beyond protection against phishing and malware, we use it to secure our Microsoft 365 email environment, investigate suspicious emails, manage quarantined items, and monitor security trends through its reporting dashboard. We also use Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for URL and attachment analysis, business email compromise protection, and monitoring suspicious email activity. It provides centralized visibility into email threats, making it easier to investigate incidents and fine-tune security policies. We also use the reporting features to track threat trends and demonstrate the effectiveness of our email security controls. Overall, it helps reduce the manual workload on the security team while improving our organization's email security posture.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability has been excellent. Since Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is a cloud-native solution, it scales easily as our organization grows, whether it is adding new users or onboarding new departments.
How are customer service and support?
Overall, my experience with Check Point support has been positive. We have not needed to contact them frequently because the platform has been stable, but on the occasions we did, the support team was responsive and knowledgeable. They helped troubleshoot configuration and policy-related questions and provided clear guidance along with their relevant documentation and knowledge base articles.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was relatively straightforward, especially because it is a cloud-native solution. We integrated it with our Microsoft 365 by configuring the required permissions and base security policies. Check Point provides clear documentation and deployment guides, which made the process smooth. Most of the effort was in validating the configuration, fine-tuning policies to match our organization's requirements, and testing to ensure legitimate emails were not blocked. Overall, I would describe it as efficient and much simpler than deploying a traditional on-premises email security gateway.
What other advice do I have?
My advice would be to start by understanding your organization's email security requirements and the planned deployment carefully. Take the time to configure and fine-tune your security policies during the initial rollout to balance strong protection with minimal impact on legitimate business emails. I also recommend running the solution in monitoring or audit mode where possible before enforcing strict policies, so you can identify any false positives and make adjustments.
A good example was when Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) detected and blocked a sophisticated phishing campaign targeting multiple employees. The email closely mimicked a trusted vendor attempting to steal Microsoft 365 credentials through a fake login page. The solution's AI-powered phishing detection identified the malicious indicators and quarantined the emails before they reached users' inboxes. The incident was clearly visible in the management console, allowing our security team to review the attack, confirm that no accounts were compromised, and quickly notify the users.
In addition to protecting against phishing and malware, Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) provides URL and attachment analysis, business email compromise protection, and monitoring of suspicious email activity. It provides centralized visibility into email threats, making it easier to investigate incidents and fine-tune security policies. The standard features include AI-powered phishing and business email protection, business email compromise protection, advanced URL and attachment analysis with sandboxing, ThreatCloud threat intelligence, seamless Microsoft 365 integration, centralized management, and detailed reporting.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten overall.
Email protection has prevented phishing losses and now keeps remote workflows secure
What is our primary use case?
I can give a specific example of how Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) really helped our team. There was a time when our internal customer service team received queries through emails, and most of them came attached with details or screenshots of what the client wanted resolved. Suspicious emails were being sent to us that were routed as if they were client inquiries. However, with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) in place, it was able to flag down various emails that contained malicious links or attachments that were disguised to harm our data. It helped us detect and correct the anomaly on time.
What is most valuable?
Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is a platform that prevents data loss and assures security of everything that we hold confidentially. With the rise in cyber crimes, you cannot rest assured. You always prepare for the worst. However, with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) in place, you're able to be safe and feel assured that there will be no data loss and the security of our documents and information will remain secured.
The remote access and on-point protection of Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) has affected our workflow and productivity in a positive manner. With it in place, we are able to concentrate. Our employees are able to feel confident in our abilities to prevent any threat or any phishing attack. When you don't have that platform in place, you rely on your security team and IT security team to do that process manually. When it's being done manually, sometimes they can miss something. When they miss something, it will come back to impact our organization. Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) has improved our workflow and productivity.
Pricing is not much of a concern with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration). The vendor gives you all the information required upfront. The setup cost and licensing depend on the resources that you have expended in acquiring the platform. Overall, I found the whole process to be open and transparent, without any hidden costs. The whole process experience was positive for us.
We have seen many benefits from Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) and it has brought a positive impact to our organization. One positive impact is the savings in terms of cost that arise in case of a phishing attack or ransomware release into our system. When those attacks happen, they bring huge losses in terms of money and data loss. To clean up, you need to invest in more secure systems, which puts a huge dent on our cost of doing business. However, with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) in place, we are able to avoid all that, save money, and save time. This has brought newfound confidence both in our customers and in our employees, where they feel safe and assured that whatever they are sharing with us is in safe hands. Thus, we are able to handle more business.
What needs improvement?
On the technical aspects of Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration), I can address the pricing because we find that the platform is quite pricey, especially the premium versions. To be assured of proper usage and proper safety, they need to invest more. This may lock out small businesses or individual users who find the price to be high. This is another area that affects the acquisition of the platform, especially by small-scale users.

Proactive phishing defense has reduced data leaks but outgoing data protection still needs improvement
What is our primary use case?
The main use case for Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is phishing protection from anti-malware, account takeover, and data loss prevention.
A typical phishing scenario is when an attacker sends a BEC style email, a domain look-alike asking finance to urgently process a wire transfer. In terms of DLP protection, an employee attaches a spreadsheet containing customer ID numbers, card details, and emails either to a personal Gmail account or shares it via a OneDrive link with anyone with the link. Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) DLP engine scans outbound mail and file sharing events using pattern matching or prebuilt compliance templates.
What is most valuable?
The best features that Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) offers include the ThreatCloud AI engine stack, zero-day sandboxing protection, advanced anti-phishing and anti-impersonation, and a clean dashboard.
Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) has impacted my organization positively since there are no DLP issues or data loss. It prevents data loss and manages phishing protection effectively by using analytics to deep dive into specific threat categories. The anti-phishing and impersonation features catch subtle impersonation attempts and suspicious-looking links before users can see them, not just obvious spam.
I have seen a reduction in phishing incidents and data leaks since every document is scanned before it goes out or comes in. In terms of phishing, the protection is proactive because it catches impersonation attempts and suspicious-looking links before users get to see them, so it has reduced the number of phishing incidents in my organization.
What needs improvement?
In terms of DLP, there is limited functionality on outgoing DLP specifically. The interface can feel clunky, and the notification settings tend to be noisy until fine-tuned. These are areas that could be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for the past five years specifically in my organization.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
There are no stability issues at the moment regarding my main use case or how I use Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration).
What other advice do I have?
Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) has made my life easier in terms of email security, and it covers all the items that I have discussed. I would rate Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) a seven out of ten.
Email security has blocked sophisticated phishing and now protects inboxes with AI detection
What is our primary use case?
The major use case for Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) was Business Email Compromise, CEO fraud, and vendor impersonation. Phishing attacks were also a major issue, as sophisticated phishing attacks are occurring nowadays. This solution is not a traditional solution but rather an API-based deployment, which made it easy to deploy without disruption of any email flow. When we deployed it, it was completed within a day, and within a few minutes of that process.
What is most valuable?
One valuable feature is the easy deployment because of the API-based deployment structure. The most important feature is that it can scan emails already in the user email box and automatically removes malicious emails. If in my organization 100 plus users received a phishing email, it automatically detects and removes it from their email boxes. Another pro is the excellent phishing detection system. Business Email Compromise protection is another advantage that I already mentioned. The integration is very strong with Google Workspace , as it works with Gmail, Google Drive , Google Chat, and Google Calendar. Unlike other solutions that only inspect SMTP traffic, this product can work with all Google solutions, including Google Drive and Chat.
Automatic remediation is available in this product. Incident investigation can be performed by viewing the attack timeline, identifying affected users, analyzing sender reputation, and inspecting URLs. We can search for Indicators of Compromise, malicious IP addresses, domain URLs, and other threats. Integration with our SIEM solution is very easy, as it can create tickets automatically and trigger playbooks with our Wazuh SIEM .
Naturally, because it is an AI-powered detection system, standard email gateways cannot find malware as easily. It can detect phishing emails, even those that do not contain known malware. It detects language, analyzes writing style, and identifies social engineering attacks because of the AI features.
This capability was helpful to us. We can see the reputation of domains, especially in our business development department, as they receive many phishing emails. We can see sender reputation, sender domain reputation, and spam history from those senders. It is easy to find look-alike domains and cousin domains, and we can easily detect those attacks. URL reputation analysis is also available. Overall, Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is very easy to deploy, but there is a learning curve for my IT administrators. This is not unique to this product, as every product has a learning curve. Policies must be deployed, and detection settings must be configured. The Check Point vendor helped us deploy all of these elements by explaining the best optimized settings, how to use incident investigations, and how to create reports and reporting dashboards.
What needs improvement?
The only challenge with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is that it is an API-based solution. In an API-based solution, the major challenge is that it can read email content and Google Drive content. This presents a data privacy challenge, and we had to mitigate it by signing a Data Processing Agreement and other agreements. Because it is not a traditional in-line solution, Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) connects with Google Workspace using API permission and can access email, attachments, sender, recipient information, links, and all metadata is with Check Point. Data storage and everything else is with Check Point, which is the challenge.
This solution has a drawback because of API deployment, while other solutions are traditional secure email gateways that are in-line solutions. In those solutions, we need to change the MX record, but with this solution we do not need to change the MX record, which is a pro of API-based deployment. However, there is also a con in that with API solutions, the email is scanned but after delivery in the mailbox.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using this solution for more than one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product is stable with no glitches. When the product is deployed, it works perfectly, so I would rate it nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is very good. If I want to scale this product to 2,000 users or 5,000 users, it can scale within no time, so that is not an issue.
How are customer service and support?
The balanced rating for customer service is eight.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
For AWS , we are not using any email security solution. We are using Bitdefender and currently have more than 1,100 licenses. In the firewall, we are using pfSense by Netgate. We use different solutions for different purposes. For SIEM, we are using Wazuh . For backup, we are using Acronis. For storage, we are using Synology NAS .
How was the initial setup?
In most cases, phishing emails are identified and removed within seconds. If we were getting 100 phishing emails before deploying Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration), after deployment that number was reduced to 15. This represents 85 percent efficiency.
What was our ROI?
This solution cannot generate business. It is a safeguard or guardrail for our email solution. It is expensive, without doubt. However, if we compare it with other solutions such as Proofpoint, Mimecast, or Cisco, those are more expensive. Barracuda is less expensive, but Proofpoint is the enterprise leader and is more expensive than Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration).
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We are not currently using this product. Six months back, we removed that product due to a few issues. The major issue is naturally the budget, as it is expensive. Our organization is expanding and we now have more than 1,200 email IDs, which is significant. We are trying to change the methodology for our email security system because some of our domains are now on Microsoft 365 and some on Google Workspace. Earlier, we were using Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) only with Google Workspace.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We took a proof of concept for Barracuda as an alternative solution.
What other advice do I have?
The data privacy challenge is significant because Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is not a traditional in-line solution. It connects with Google Workspace using API permission and can access email, attachments, sender, recipient information, links, and all metadata is with Check Point. Data storage and everything else is with Check Point, which is the challenge. The overall review rating for this product is eight out of ten.
