    What is our primary use case?

    I have been using Check Point Email Security  (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for the last two years.

    My main use case for Check Point Email Security  (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is to protect my emails and M365 accounts.

    I am using Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) to secure my M365 account exclusively.

    What is most valuable?

    The best feature Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) offers is that it automatically blocks suspicious accounts.

    That is the main highlight for me regarding the features of Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration).

    Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) has positively impacted my organization by making us stress-free. If any account is compromised, it will automatically block it, and we will not receive any spam emails or anything, which will be very helpful.

    We did not receive any unsecured email, which is very beneficial for us, so we cannot get any malware or viruses in our organization.

    What needs improvement?

    Currently, I do not have any improvements to suggest for Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) because all the things we want are covered.

    Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is currently the very best product. It has all the features we need based on current technology, and I am completely surprised by some of its features, making it a very mature product.

    Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) follows all the governance and security standards, and it is the very best.

    Regarding Check Point Email Security's AI capabilities, all things will be good in terms of accuracy and reliability of output.

    If you want to go with an advanced security solution for your M365 accounts, you can go with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration). This is very beneficial. You can connect your admin and authorize the app, accessing all your data. Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) will secure all your data, emails, collaboration, and accounts. If any account is compromised or shows unusual behavior, it will detect it and automatically block it. That feature is very good, and you can go through it as it is a very best product.

    What is our primary use case?

    The major use case for Check Point Email Security  (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) was Business Email Compromise, CEO fraud, and vendor impersonation. Phishing attacks were also a major issue, as sophisticated phishing attacks are occurring nowadays. This solution is not a traditional solution but rather an API-based deployment, which made it easy to deploy without disruption of any email flow. When we deployed it, it was completed within a day, and within a few minutes of that process.

    What is most valuable?

    One valuable feature is the easy deployment because of the API-based deployment structure. The most important feature is that it can scan emails already in the user email box and automatically removes malicious emails. If in my organization 100 plus users received a phishing email, it automatically detects and removes it from their email boxes. Another pro is the excellent phishing detection system. Business Email Compromise protection is another advantage that I already mentioned. The integration is very strong with Google Workspace , as it works with Gmail, Google Drive , Google Chat, and Google Calendar. Unlike other solutions that only inspect SMTP traffic, this product can work with all Google solutions, including Google Drive  and Chat.

    Automatic remediation is available in this product. Incident investigation can be performed by viewing the attack timeline, identifying affected users, analyzing sender reputation, and inspecting URLs. We can search for Indicators of Compromise, malicious IP addresses, domain URLs, and other threats. Integration with our SIEM  solution is very easy, as it can create tickets automatically and trigger playbooks with our Wazuh  SIEM .

    Naturally, because it is an AI-powered detection system, standard email gateways cannot find malware as easily. It can detect phishing emails, even those that do not contain known malware. It detects language, analyzes writing style, and identifies social engineering attacks because of the AI features.

    This capability was helpful to us. We can see the reputation of domains, especially in our business development department, as they receive many phishing emails. We can see sender reputation, sender domain reputation, and spam history from those senders. It is easy to find look-alike domains and cousin domains, and we can easily detect those attacks. URL reputation analysis is also available. Overall, Check Point Email Security  (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is very easy to deploy, but there is a learning curve for my IT administrators. This is not unique to this product, as every product has a learning curve. Policies must be deployed, and detection settings must be configured. The Check Point vendor helped us deploy all of these elements by explaining the best optimized settings, how to use incident investigations, and how to create reports and reporting dashboards.

    What needs improvement?

    The only challenge with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is that it is an API-based solution. In an API-based solution, the major challenge is that it can read email content and Google Drive content. This presents a data privacy challenge, and we had to mitigate it by signing a Data Processing Agreement and other agreements. Because it is not a traditional in-line solution, Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) connects with Google Workspace  using API permission and can access email, attachments, sender, recipient information, links, and all metadata is with Check Point. Data storage and everything else is with Check Point, which is the challenge.

    This solution has a drawback because of API deployment, while other solutions are traditional secure email gateways that are in-line solutions. In those solutions, we need to change the MX record, but with this solution we do not need to change the MX record, which is a pro of API-based deployment. However, there is also a con in that with API solutions, the email is scanned but after delivery in the mailbox.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    We have been using this solution for more than one year.

    What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    The product is stable with no glitches. When the product is deployed, it works perfectly, so I would rate it nine out of ten.

    What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    The scalability is very good. If I want to scale this product to 2,000 users or 5,000 users, it can scale within no time, so that is not an issue.

    How are customer service and support?

    The balanced rating for customer service is eight.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    For AWS , we are not using any email security solution. We are using Bitdefender and currently have more than 1,100 licenses. In the firewall, we are using pfSense by Netgate. We use different solutions for different purposes. For SIEM, we are using Wazuh . For backup, we are using Acronis. For storage, we are using Synology NAS .

    How was the initial setup?

    In most cases, phishing emails are identified and removed within seconds. If we were getting 100 phishing emails before deploying Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration), after deployment that number was reduced to 15. This represents 85 percent efficiency.

    What was our ROI?

    This solution cannot generate business. It is a safeguard or guardrail for our email solution. It is expensive, without doubt. However, if we compare it with other solutions such as Proofpoint, Mimecast, or Cisco, those are more expensive. Barracuda is less expensive, but Proofpoint is the enterprise leader and is more expensive than Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration).

    What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    We are not currently using this product. Six months back, we removed that product due to a few issues. The major issue is naturally the budget, as it is expensive. Our organization is expanding and we now have more than 1,200 email IDs, which is significant. We are trying to change the methodology for our email security system because some of our domains are now on Microsoft 365 and some on Google Workspace. Earlier, we were using Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) only with Google Workspace.

    Which other solutions did I evaluate?

    We took a proof of concept for Barracuda as an alternative solution.

    What other advice do I have?

    The data privacy challenge is significant because Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is not a traditional in-line solution. It connects with Google Workspace using API permission and can access email, attachments, sender, recipient information, links, and all metadata is with Check Point. Data storage and everything else is with Check Point, which is the challenge. The overall review rating for this product is eight out of ten.

    What is our primary use case?

    I work with a cloud deployment model and we are using their SaaS solution.

    The deployment itself is quite seamless; you can use their temporary licenses for the deployment, just for testing. If I remember correctly, it's a three-month free of charge license, then you have to purchase the license from one of their distributors, which is quite an easy process. Basically, we are reselling the solution of Check Point.

    The time spent on the deployment process isn't just about Check Point Email Security  (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration); it's part of a full stack of capabilities including a firewall, anti-spam, anti-bot, IDS, and IPS. The installation itself on a virtual machine takes less than an hour, and it's quite easy.

    What is most valuable?

    Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is part of a package we are using, Check Point CloudGuard , which includes several blades, and each blade can do a different security job.

    The time spent on the deployment process isn't just about Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration); it's part of a full stack of capabilities including a firewall, anti-spam, anti-bot, IDS, and IPS.

    One of our customers operated the automated incident response feature.

    We use real-time URL reputation analysis through URL filtering, which is one of the blades.

    What needs improvement?

    I can tell you that their management system, SmartConsole, is quite heavy and very slow, and the performance is a little bit weak.

    The management system is very old, not a modern one. It's not intuitive or easy to operate. My customer success team studied it through self-study, and it was not an easy process. The user interface and the support we have to give to our customers in that regard present some difficulties, especially if you want to migrate security policies from one machine to another. It works well, but operationally, it's quite heavy.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    I have been working with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for about three years.

    How are customer service and support?

    They have TAC that can help, and you can open a case for assistance. We are in Israel, so they have Hebrew speakers, which makes it quite easy, and we received good support.

    I would rate the support of Check Point at eight.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    In the past, I have worked with Fortinet but less with Palo Alto. With Fortinet, my involvement included both security and developing an SD-WAN SASE  solution, as we deployed Check Point in the cloud, which was the solution provided to our customers.

    What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    The licensing costs for Check Point, including Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration), are based on the bandwidth you consume, with a price for the gateway processing the data and another for the management system. The gateway price is a subscription based on an annual rate per installed machine or VM, and licenses can be bought based on the number of CPUs based on the data you are willing to process.

    The licensing model is flexible, and it requires a good design to be cost-effective.

    From analysis, I know that Check Point's pricing is middle-ground compared to Fortinet and Palo Alto; Fortinet tends to be more expensive. I have encountered up to 80% discounts sometimes, so pricing can be very variable, but on average, Check Point is in the middle.

    What other advice do I have?

    I have not used the AI-powered threat intelligence feature for blocking email threats; I know they are working on integrating AI capabilities into the system, and I believe they will introduce it in the next versions, but that is not something I have experienced.

    What is our primary use case?

    I use Check Point Email Security  (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for protecting my phishing email against my critical users, and it acts as a critical email gateway. I have MS 365 and reroute the traffic to Check Point Email Security  (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration).

    From my personal experience, the biggest advantage of the product is its protection against phishing and the significance of safeguarding my business email from compromise. My CFO and CEO are the targets for phishing mails, so protecting against these threats is very important and critical. If email is compromised, they can control access and gain complete visibility. Email is one of the weakest links people often check and use, making it the easiest way to hack, so protecting against it is crucial.

    What is most valuable?

    The automated incident response part aids my security strategy. We create actions with the automation piece, and our centralized incident management team follows incidents. We forward the logs to our SIEM  logs where our SOC team operates 24/7 to monitor incident management end-to-end.

    AI-powered threat intelligence helps to block email threats in my case. Previously, it was not there, but now they have added this feature, and they excel at this advanced AI part. Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) protects my blogs and email threats before they reach my inbox through a feature they call ThreatCloud.

    I use real-time URL reputation analysis in the product as sandboxing technology. For example, when some users click on a URL, it will redirect to a zero-phishing page where suspicious files and mails can be blocked. This prevents impact on my environment because it redirects directly to the sandboxing environment, and it is a great technology we are using.

    Inspection technologies safeguard my shared files, as this is one of the major use cases. I also utilize an important use case known as grey mail. The grey email box is a great technology that allows us to control promotional emails. For instance, if someone sends an email claiming a $500 prize, it often falls into spam and can be clicked unwittingly. The team protects against such unwanted mails, which frequently include promotions that users may miss or mix with genuine emails. This categorization needs to happen to manage delivery effectively.

    Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) has a positive impact on phishing attack mitigation, and the mitigation part works well. That is why, after evaluating the product, we went for live deployment since we use it majorly for our group companies. This is a very important use case for us.

    What needs improvement?

    I notice that there are areas for improvement in email security, particularly regarding Data Loss Prevention (DLP) . It has limited functionality on outgoing DLP , meaning if someone is sending a sensitive file, I cannot rely solely on this solution for protection.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    I confirm that I have been working with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) for more than eighteen months.

    What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Over these eighteen months I have been working with the product, it has been very stable, and I would recommend it to most of my peers who have issues related to the email security piece. I will definitely say this product is too good as it solves most of the problems.

    What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    Regarding scalability, we have taken a SaaS platform, so availability and observability are there along with higher availability. There are no concerns about scalability.

    How are customer service and support?

    The technical support from Check Point is good; I have not found it lacking.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    I have worked with competitors for email security; earlier, I used to have Trend Micro, and I have also utilized FireEye , which is now known as Mandiant, and they have taken over McAfee. I have used multiple products in the past.

    The biggest difference I see between these products is that Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) works directly with native collaboration tools from Microsoft. This was not the case before; Trend Micro is a gateway solution that requires moving traffic before it reaches our mailbox. Here , the handshake happens seamlessly, not only for Microsoft 365 but also between my SharePoint  and Teams, protecting all collaboration tools, which is crucial since account takeovers, phishing, and ransomware often come via shared files.

    How was the initial setup?

    I find that the installation procedure and deployment are easy and not complex.

    What about the implementation team?

    The deployment was done in-house; I did not use the help of a consultant or integrator.

    What was our ROI?

    I observe that it is possible to see ROI with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration); you will definitely get results in nine to ten months.

    Accuracy Redefined, Perfect for Email Security

    What do you like best about the product?
    I use Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for its excellent accuracy. I have yet to see a DLP policy miss a trigger that wasn't my fault, and it's rare for legit mail to be blocked or quarantined. It's also rare for malware, phishing, or spam to get into users' inboxes. Simply put, it just works! I also appreciate how super simple the setup process is—just click create, log in with an admin—and you’re good to go. It's been a huge improvement over previous solutions because it rarely blocks legitimate mail and effectively protects against malicious emails.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    The granularity of the portal and settings is grand, and many of the settings want to notify users and notify admins by default. Unless you really drill down into the settings and turn off some of these notifications, the platform can be very noisy - especially as you grow, as you could end up with meaningless alerts for hundreds of user requests. That said, this is a small issue compared to the problems the platform solves!
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration protects us from malicious emails and nullifies false positives better than previous solutions. It's very accurate, rarely missing threats or blocking legitimate mail, ensuring our team works with fewer disruptions.
