Easy-to-use and has smart graphs however not very fast for data processing
What do you like best about the product?
I have used this product for almost 1 years. I did too many analysis and graphs with this amazing easy-to-use tool. Its graph recommendations for visualization is good enough.I have used it's features to cleanse and shape the data and also can merge different data sources to get better understanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish this program can run its analysis in database with SQL Push Back like SPSS Modeler because for large datasets, it really takes time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this tool for first looking and analyzing data which I will use in my reports. Via IBM Cognos, I am trying to understand information and possible and meaningful visualization techniques to start my report or model.

I would recommend it to use for beginning in a report or analysis. This program can lead you really meaningful and smart graphs.

Not always intuitive to use but can be useful with training

Great Data Analysis Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like Cognos IBM Analytics because it makes it easy for you to visualize and analyze large data sets. It is easy to use after you have some initial training. I like the different export options.
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM Cognos Analytics can be a little difficult to learn how to use. There are a lot of different features and it is not all just drag and drop. You need to understand the underlying data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My organization has a ton of data across different disciplines and IBM Cognos Analytics gives us a way to view and analyze data across the organization.
Good platform for data sourcing
What do you like best about the product?
Can connect and retrive any data needed for analytics. It has multiple inputs for admins and employees can source any data in a format of their choice easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Functions are a bit minimal. More options required for filtering data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using the data sourced, I create data models to give a clear picture. Based on which strategies are developed.

not end user friendly. Must rely on more technical users to complete reporting

Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it is on the latest version of Cognos and I have all the new features available to me. I have used the new features for exploration and data modules. Since IBM keeps adding capabilities, I keep being able to do more.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked the fact that sometimes it errors out. I'm not sure whether it is an issue with connecting to its data repositories or what it could be. I run the visualization again, and I get the visualization. That ensures the issue isn't on my side.

I am able to upload data and show my customers what issues the business may have.

Much easier, sophisticated way to analyze and display data. Allows for a much more robust way of visualizing data in a meaningful way.

New learner so any dislike is probably a result of my own ignorance

What do you like best about the product?
I'ts easily integrateable with Watson Studios and captures the essential analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platfrom is not easily customizable and has a large variation of template dashboards. The pricing could more competitive.

We are providing analytics to customers for smart city applications where they need to capture analytics around traffic, flow and visibility in cities. Secondly security information.
