What do you like best about the product?
I like that IBM Cognos Analytics is current, has high security, and is ready for AI. We have one controlled data model that everyone uses, so I don’t have to work across different models for the same question, and I can control who uses what data. It gives me an overview of my data and helps me become more data-driven. I find it easy to model data in data modules, which give me the same foundation for all my reporting. I also like the reports because I can do perfect reporting and easily burst it out to users. Having one data model makes it easy for me to add AI on top of it. It’s also very easy to install and get everything up and running.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think IBM Cognos Analytics may not be as strong as other vendors on the BI side of dashboards, but I don't think that's a problem anymore. I think it's an old problem that will be solved with AI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Cognos Analytics gives me an overview of my data and helps me become more data-driven. I can use it to ask all my financial questions.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy how easy it is to create reports and get them into different formats like Excel or PDF. Excel works better for our use case because our finance department does a lot of its work in Excel. I can also make our data easily accessible to the finance team and drillable with cubed data sets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were easier to create the data needed for drillable reports, and I’d like a more streamlined way to scrub data. The AI assistant isn’t currently applicable to us because of how our data is set up. It would be helpful if our team could use chat to get deeper information about what’s in a report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Cognos Analytics to map our sales data and make our latest data easily accessible to our finance team in drillable, cubed datasets. I find reports easy to create and export to Excel or PDF; Excel works especially well because our finance department does much of its work there.

What do you like best about the product?
I find IBM Cognos Analytics easy to use. It’s very beneficial for our day-to-day business analytics and reporting, including for agents. We also use it for audits and to track mobile usage, and it acts as a single repository for our reporting and analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find IBM Cognos Analytics challenging to configure for IBM Z databases. Setup also has its challenges, and we brought in IBM experts to install, configure, and customize the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Cognos Analytics for retail reporting and day-to-day business analytics, and it’s very beneficial for us.

What do you like best about the product?
The visual reporting and the UI are generally easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
When data sources have the same column names, it's hard to tell which source the columns comes from.
