What do you like best about the product?
I like the new cognos Analytics Features, especially the new and really good usability and graphical options
What do you dislike about the product?
I thnik that list pricing is much to high. Wouldn't it be better to have a very price sensitive go to market like other big players.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using IBM Cognos Analytics on Cloud to make new business analysis with a very high scalable opportunities

What do you like best about the product?
The Cognos Analytics suite provides a broad spectrum of functionality in a single package as opposed to having to use a large number of third party tools to supplement requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new UI is simply terrible paticularly in Reports Builder.

There appears to be a complete disregard for the positioning of icons and duplication of functions.

The in windows pull down tabs are not used consistently. For example when editing a report you get an in window pulldown tab but when you run the edited report you get a whole new browser tab. However when you just run the report without editing it once again is an in window tab. Powerplay cubes also generate a separate browser tab.

There is no inbuilt version control software.

Bullet charts changed radically from the prior version to no longer creating a single chart with multiple bullets per category.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are building insights across our enterprise from Manufacturing to Planning to Sales & Marketing to Finance.

need a database option for the client to have in the cloud as an option from IBM

The concept of story books! Fantastic! The ability to tell a story using the client's data is very compelling

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is fairly easy to use. I been using the product for about 1 week. However, I have used other products as ArcGis and Tableu. I feel that they are all related. But I feel I need more experience with Cognos.
What do you dislike about the product?
Recommended graphs and charts. Some of the recommended graphs and charts were not what I wanted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Cognos Analytics works fast. I like how you can get answers almost instantly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch Tutorial online and do the tutorial problems.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been working in BI Cognos from past 14 years and it's been good the Operaional reporting and mutidimensional analysis and we are looking more towards dashboards in current version.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still need to get there as per the users exoectation in the current requirements.

What do you like best about the product?
Cognos is an easy to use solution for tradional BI and reporting. Features are stable and provide consistent results.
What do you dislike about the product?
New features that get added but are not built-out sufficiently to actually utilize in a production environment with very picky customers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have 4000 users who have traditional BI, Transformer and PowerPlay reports. Self-service for sales and customer service employees, HR and Financial reporting, among others

What do you like best about the product?
I was thinking of moving my environment away from On-prem to cloud and found that IBM softlayer served its need to moving towards the cloud and also did a great help in migrating the environemnt.'

it was a worry free process and its all taken care by IBM and we are at peace
