Cognos Dashboards are a great product
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease and speed of being able to put a visualization together and can get in the hands of the consumer quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that commands can't be used across different packages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are putting HR data into the hands of decision makers faster and more accurately than ever before.

What do you like best about the product?
IBM Cognos Analytics is a great tool to streamline our data out to our customers. Great reports and chart making with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to speak of right now. Things are going smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Putting the data in to teh hands of our business usres.
Cognos for a School District
What do you like best about the product?
Cognos has a strong "engine" that is able to manage our student and school data for a school District that is over 100 000 students. We have used Cognos as a reporting tool to support our focus on continuous improvement using data-drivenm decision-making.
What do you dislike about the product?
I bvelieve Cognos has the engine of a BMW. However, for report writers and users of the product, it needs to be more user-friendly and have more flexibility to support a more 21st century look and feel to it.

Supporting our end-users (school principals and central leaders) in accessing data to inform decisions specific to programming, school planning and interventions

What do you like best about the product?
The functionality is wide throughout the product. It just does not do dashboards like other products, but also does enterprise reporting that other products do not do.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mapping is not up to speed as other products, dashboarding is coming along fine but still needs to catch up with products such as Tableau and PowerBi.

Client questions based on what they ask. Data questions answered faster and at a lesser cost.

Cognos 11 has shown us our future
What do you like best about the product?
As a long time cognos customer we were excited to learn about and build upon new data visualization options with cognos 11. Paired with our new Netizza data warehouse appliance we are able to allow our decision makers to work with data directly and find insights needed for improved decision making.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to meet our customers scorecard requests. Currently have multiple reports/jobs running to render one scorecard. Technical team reports challenges with respect to long term support ability

Hospital performance reporting including clinical accountability and financial optimization.

Important to get the right resources to assist with initial build. Invest in training if needed.

The cubing capabilities. The anility ro see dashboards on the sales performances of our team and the information about customers

Nothing really. But have not been able to do the changes myself

Reporting is resource intensive and is prone to errors and inconsistency. This product allows the FInance team to deliver reporting effective, timely, and accurately.
