Efficient and user-friendly digital asset management platform
What do you like best about the product?
Canto's interface is intuitive and visually clean, making it easy to search, organize, and tag digital files. The ability to create custom portals for sharing assets with internal and external stakeholders is incredibly useful. It helps ensure brand consistency and saves time by eliminating asset hunting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search functionality could be more flexible with fuzzy or partial keyword matches. Additionally, some upload processes can be slow for large file batches, and integrating Canto with certain third-party apps sometimes requires workarounds or extra support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto helps us keep all our images, videos, and files in one place so we don’t waste time searching for them. It’s easy to find what we need, share with others, and stay organized. This saves time and helps our team work better together.
CAN EASILY FIND INFO NEEDED
What do you like best about the product?
Using search field you can find all information without entering the menus
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all equipment are there with the info I usually need (layout)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can search at only one place (almost) all equipment portfolio without the need of searching at intranet in different teamsites.
A DAM That Actually Works!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto makes organizing and finding digital assets incredibly efficient. Its simple interface, smart tagging, and visual search—enhanced by AI—save a lot of time. I especially like the automatic metadata tagging and facial recognition, which help streamline content management without manual effort. Sharing assets with custom portals and permission control is also seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Canto is powerful, the initial setup can feel a bit overwhelming, especially for teams new to DAM systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto solves the problem of scattered and disorganized digital assets. Before, files were spread across drives, emails, and cloud folders, making it hard to find the right version quickly. Now, everything is centralized, searchable, and easy to manage. Features like AI-powered tagging, version control, and shareable portals have streamlined our workflows, saved time, and improved collaboration across teams—especially in marketing and creative.
Great for search and sharing
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is an intuitive digital asset manager with excellent organization tools and powerful search capabilities. It's great for teams looking to efficiently manage and share content in one centralized platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, it has been good for a small team, but syncing large files can be slow at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly finding photos and sharing select photos with various other teams.
Quality DAM product, thorough onboarding and good ongoing customer service.
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is a solid digital asset management tool providing a good mix of functionality, features, and ease of use. The staff is very helpful from the thorough onboarding process evaluating our specific needs and then transitioning to the ongoing account management and help desk service. The team is always available and willing to assist with our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile experience has much to be desired. The desktop experience works well but doesn't transition to the mobile app and limited to the mobile browser usage as well. I look forward to updates to this experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is our company's first DAM tool and transitioned us from server storage. This has allowed us to locate, organize, and share assets much easier internally and externally. The Portals and Upload options have improved our collection and archiving of assets preventing assets from living on individual phones, memory cards, computers, and hard drives and now centrally located in a single source.
Great features & usability
What do you like best about the product?
Our small university was looking for an affordable but flexible tool for digital asset management. Canto checked all the boxes—facial recognition, organization, usability, customer support and more. The implementation process was super easy, and I loved that we had a dedicated implementation person and now a dedicated account manager. The SSO integration makes it easy for us to customize access across campus and we now spend way less time downloading and sending photos to people across the university. We are also now getting way more photos submitted from students and faculty when they travel for conferences, competitions or mission trips.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside is that I wish you didn't have to be a super user to do have full uploading capability. We have a number of student photographers and it was not financially feasible to make each of them a super user. However, the flexibility of Canto provided us a work around by hiring a "photo manager" with super user status that creates upload links for photography assignments and gives those to the photographer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a very old non-server based DAM system that didn't take advantage of all the new AI powered features. Canto's features save us time we previously spent tagging photos and now we can also identify every student in a photo.
Up and running with great efficiency!
What do you like best about the product?
Our implementaion trainer, Sophie is excellent and the Canto interface is very user friendly, logical and efficient. Features of the DAM are excellent and easy to understand.Organization and accessability of our digital assets is excellent and the AI visual search feature is exceptional
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a considerable time commitment to get things organized and setup, but well worth the time investment.

Time management in searching for appropriate images with staff and affiliates located across the U.S.

Not too bad
What do you like best about the product?
Switching from Merlin to Canto was a pretty simple learning curve. Easy to use, love the facial recognition and data on photo shares.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is hard to find a photo if you dont put in exactly what you are searching for, the AI tags could be better.

Making sure our photos are stored safely and with better tagging

The ability to create campaign-specific albums within the portal substantially streamlines the Browse process, leading to increased efficiency and reduced asset retrieval time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Accessing assets within the Canto portal currently involves a redirection to the main library, which can be inefficient and add extra steps to the workflow. This process is often time-consuming, particularly for users who frequently need to open and interact with assets directly from the portal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto effectively addresses our digital asset management needs by providing robust organizational capabilities. We particularly value its comprehensive asset tracking features and the ability to manage access restrictions for different user groups, which enhances security without impeding collaborative workflows. The seamless integration with Adobe applications is a significant advantage, empowering artists to efficiently view, download, and edit assets without the need to repeatedly download individual layers.
