Everything We Need in One Place
What do you like best about the product?
As a small- to medium-sized business, we wanted a tool that could easily be implemented and accessible to our customers and vendor partners. Canto checked those boxes and some. In the 1.5 years of using Canto, it has become an integral part of our business operations. Plus they provide 1 on 1 customer support from a live representative.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that we would like is easier synchronization of our product images to our website. Not sure if this is even a standard use or service provided by DAMs, but if it was that would just save us a step.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to using Canto, we housed all of our product images on an external, private website we created. It required frequent updates on our end, and our customers could only download the files as they were. This resulted in hundreds of requests for specific file types, transparent images, and custom image requests. Since implementing Canto, our customers now have an up-to-date location to see all our available assets and download them in a format that best meets their needs, saving our graphic design team at least 15 hours of work each month and allowing them to focus on the more important projects that help drive our business forward.
Instrumental platform for photo library
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been an incredibly useful tool for our organization in managing decades’ worth of programmatic photos. The built-in tools for organizing and managing assets have been essential to our workflow.
One feature I especially appreciate is the ability to create upload links for specific albums. This has been a huge help when collecting assets from contractors and staff.
Another standout feature is the option to build custom portals for our assets. They’re easy to set up, allow for organized album structures, and let us add text boxes to provide context. Being able to share a single portal link—rather than multiple individual album links—makes content sharing much more streamlined.
Canto is used regularly by our content creators and continues to be our go-to platform for managing and sharing assets.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a couple of features I’m not especially fond of, mostly related to metadata fields. While it’s helpful to be able to create specific data points, there doesn’t seem to be a way to organize them into grouped sets—so all metadata fields appear in one long, unstructured list, which can be a bit much.
The only other thing I’m not a fan of is the limited customization in the portals. Aside from the landing page, there aren’t many options for customizing subpages. It would be great if some of the features available on the main portal page could also be applied to those subpages.
That said, these are fairly minor issues and don’t impact daily use.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto was a solution to an outdated photo management platform we were using that was not streamlined for the mass amounts of photos we were needing to manage and access on a regular basis. The benefit of Canto is having a place where we can easily upload, maintain and share assets easily.
I like it! Hard to LOVE a DAM tool....

Canto Review
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to store our media online and share it with other staff and external groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to download multiple files at a time and organizing folders/albums aren't the most intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us solve where to store all of our digital assets securely online rather than locally, and the ease of accessing these assets.
Great interface to store files and provide usage across across our firm
What do you like best about the product?
Some of the best features for us is the organization of files and the reporting on usage. We also like the ease of sharing files and the ability to access via PPT and web.
What do you dislike about the product?
The auto-tagging of assets in Canto isn't as robust as we would like, but we solve for that using a 3rd party. The new visual AI feature is nice, but we still like the tags/metadata.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a repository for our our photography that can be utilized across our global firm - easily searched, organized and managed
Canto's functionality, Integrations and optimizations continue to support my organization's goals
What do you like best about the product?
-The ability to be thorough via meta data on assets. I've found that my team that uses Canto in a creative sense can leave comments on images/videos when working through projects, campaigns, etc.
-Portal view! It gives my internal staff a different view and ease of access when locating a specific folder.
-Love the integrations specifically in Canva and Microsoft Suite platforms (PowerPoint, Word, etc).

What do you dislike about the product?
-I would like to be able to share assets without having to set up a specific share link.
-It would be nice to be able to upload assets into a folder where sub albums also exist. Similar to folder functionality in a Windows file explorer.
-The inability to delete assets in a share link (this may have been solved for already?)
-Felt a little bummed with the Canto+Hubspot integration. I may have to sit and learn more from the webinar but I was really hoping it would look similar to the integrations that exist in Canva and the Microsoft Suite.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-Sharing of assets both internally and externally. One of our organization's priorities is to capture imagery/video of staff in action (along with the partnerships in which we engage/collaborate with).
-Submitting assets via upload links. Our staff attend multiple conferences/events, so being able to upload what's been captured via URL or app, our staff feels comfortable and at ease to get them submitted.
