Highly configurations comprehensive view to understand investment prioritization and health of selected initiatives

Lack of audit trail of changes. Also less customizations in notifications

Providing a single pane of glass for all the initiatives

User interface is archaic, schedule manipulation is challenging.

A single source of information for managing my portfolio.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many items to manage that it can become daunting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource allocation to a project. Project status reporting.
Centralized Work & Resource Management with Clear Capacity Tracking
What do you like best about the product?
The consolidation of work and resource management into a centralized view where we can manage and monitor work and track capacity. I also like the ability to define column sets and the clean extracts as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of our users feel it's not an intuitive tool and struggle to find what they need. There is a lot of functionality available and hard to know where it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We did not have a centralized view of our entire portfolio and did not have a view into the resources and their capacity.

Holistic view of the portfolio and alignment with the strategic vision

Can get complicated so there is a learning curve to set it up and start using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a standardized tool for PPM, rather than relying on home-grown tools and Excel spreadsheets.
Highly Customizable with Potential for User Experience Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
I like how customizable Planview Portfolios is. It really helps with project visibility across our business and tracking resource hours related to new product introductions. I find the rolling up of financials and project dates to be especially beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user experience around time approval isn’t great, it feels old. The initial setup was complex as we didn’t know what we didn’t know.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Planview Portfolios for project visibility across our business and tracking resource hours in NPD.
Makes All Work Visible with Powerful Capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Making all work visible. Lot of capabilities available.=
What do you dislike about the product?
Too many clicks. Not modern user interface. No ability to copy and paste data into Plan and the Portfolio grid.

No "undo" functionality. Scheduling is not as robust as MS Project (ex)

What do you like best about the product?
Reporting and Analytics is very robust. The dashboard capability of using Power BI is great
What do you dislike about the product?
Not having real time data is a downside. In PPM Pro we had real time data and the transition to Portfolios without it has been difficult

OKR's and Reporting
Strong Reporting and OKRs That Keep Us on Track
What do you like best about the product?
I like the reporting capabilities and being able to have the other capabilities such as OKRs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we had real time data. We had that in PPM Pro and we really miss it. We also really miss the Kanban board view from PPM Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can keep track of where our projects are and have time tracked to them. The ICP portion is also incredibly beneficial to our Program Managers.
