I like the product’s functionality, especially the level of detail it can track from a project perspective.

Versatile but Needs Better User Roles Management
What do you like best about the product?
I use Planview Portfolios for project management, financial management, capacity planning, and resource management. I like that it allows us to create and deliver meaningful dashboards and reporting. The versatility and ability to customize views and extract data, as well as manage all project details within one project entry, really stand out for me. I also appreciate the export feature and the status reporting, as they allow me to look at data in any way I want on the fly. I can easily export it and manipulate it within Power BI, Power Apps, or Excel, which is very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I need help with roles and permissions, especially when a single user can have multiple roles. It's hard to set controls on what people can edit without updating roles and permissions for each user. User adoption is slow because most of our users, who are project managers, don't find it easy to use. We also want visibility of supplier-filled roles and there's a lack of a solution for SOW management within the tool. Without an SAP integration, managing actuals is painful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planview Portfolios lets me create and deliver meaningful dashboards and reporting, customize views, and manage project details in one entry. I can export data to manipulate in Power BI, Power Apps, or Excel easily.
