Structured task tracking has improved timelines and enables faster daily collaboration
What is our primary use case?
Rocketlane's main use case for us is to track the project timelines for all of the projects we are working on.
I can provide an example of how we have been using Rocketlane to track project timelines. When we start a project, we need to conduct requirement gathering, task management, resource allocation, and various other activities. Once the requirement gathering phase is complete, we configure these elements in Rocketlane by adding task fields. We also create different drops, such as drop one, drop two, drop three, and drop four. We assign different tasks to each particular drop and then allocate those tasks to resources, providing a specific timeline for completion from a start date to an end date for all tasks.
A main use case involves how the team interacts with Rocketlane on a day-to-day basis. Whenever a task is assigned to a particular resource, that resource receives an email notifying them of the task assignment along with a deadline. Any additional documents required can be tagged to that particular business analyst or assigned person, allowing them to request help from others. Reminders are sent every day to the assignee to remind them that the task is pending, in progress, or requires completion.
What is most valuable?
Rocketlane's best feature is the ability to tag anyone, so the other person receives a reminder that they have been mentioned in the comment section, which allows them to connect with the assignee for any further clarifications. This is one of the best features Rocketlane offers. Tagging has helped my team because whenever a task is assigned to a particular person who may need doubts or clarifications from the developer or the assignee, they cannot always approach the person directly if they are in different locations. Tagging will notify the person immediately, allowing for clarification over a call or Teams, thereby helping in the fast resolution of tasks or clarifications.
Another best feature is the ability to configure numerous projects in Rocketlane with no limit on how many projects can be configured for tracking timelines and no restrictions on adding projects.
What needs improvement?
The area that needs improvement in Rocketlane is that it should be integrated with ChatGPT or different tools available in the market now. One of the main issues I face is that when I am assigned a particular task, I am unable to find which projects I am working on, especially if I am managing two to three projects. There should be a tab where I can see the projects I am working on and the tasks assigned to me, as this feature is currently missing.
Regarding user experience and integrations, I am satisfied with them and do not have any issues other than the ones I mentioned earlier that need improvement.

What was our ROI?
Since the implementation of Rocketlane for project tracking purposes, we have seen a positive ROI since its inception into the firm, making timeline tracking easier for us. We are able to meet project deadlines ahead of the given dates.
Approximately 5 to 10 percent of the timeline has been reduced, which we usually keep as buffer time. We are able to finish tasks ahead of that time period. For example, when a task must be completed in 100 hours, we were able to complete it within 90 hours, thereby saving 10 hours.
We have seen a return on investment with Rocketlane, with a time savings of approximately 5 to 10 percent of the project timeline in every project, which has improved productivity and allowed us to take on the next project implementation.

Efficient Time Tracking with Seamless Project Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I use Rocketlane for weekly time tracking. It helps us track time spent on tasks and projects in an organized way, improving visibility into how team members allocate their time. Rocketlane makes it easier to manage work and plan by helping with project progress monitoring. The best thing is how easily it integrates time tracking with project tasks to log hours for any particular item. The switch from Tempo/Jira to Rocketlane was motivated by its efficient and simple workflow of projects integration with greater visibility. The initial setup was quick and flawless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Exporting the timesheets could be one thing that can be improved that way anyone could look back at their time logs in past.

The ultimate 'Command Center' for our delivery and resource planning
What do you like best about the product?
The most impressive thing about Rocketlane is its rapid pace of innovation. Over the last year, the improvements in resource management and automated workflows have been game-changers for our team. It doesn't just track tasks; it actually helps us visualize team capacity and prevent burnout.
I also love how much the reporting has matured. We can now pull granular insights into our delivery timelines and project health without having to export everything to a spreadsheet. It’s truly a "source of truth" for our customer-facing projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform is incredibly powerful, the sheer amount of customization available means there is a bit of a steep learning curve at the start. It took our team a few weeks to really nail down our global templates. If you’re looking for a simple 'out of the box' task list, this might feel like overkill initially, but the effort pays off once you’re fully set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Rocketlane, our onboarding process was fragmented across emails, spreadsheets, and various PM tools. Rocketlane solved the "black box" problem of customer onboarding.
By using their customer portal and native integrations, we’ve significantly reduced the friction between our sales-to-CS handoffs. Our customers now have a transparent view of the project journey, which has directly improved our Time-to-Value (TTV) and overall client satisfaction.
Great Project Layout and Views, but an Outdated UI and Annoying Bugs

What do you dislike about the product?
UI is a bit outdated. There are some bugs that are annoying but support team is responsive and quick to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to track all of my projects and their statuses easily.
Rocketlane Review
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use, easy to understand. We like that it is a one-stop shop for project management. We have been able to consolidate the use of multiple systems into just using rocketlane instead.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lots of bugs. I have many tickets open/submitted with Rocketlane.
I also heavily dislike the "apply to subtask" filter option in the List view on the project level. It makes things more confusing for the user, it does not make things simpler.
We also dislike that there is not a full admin audit log. You can export audit logs for projects, but as admins, we have no way of seeing an audit trail of, for example, who deleted a field, who created a custom field and when/time, who added a user to the system, who deactivated a user along with time and date etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use to have to use multiple systems, now we can rely on just Rocketlane. This saves our users time and helps overall company profitability. We also like the use of the customer portal, and easy project lists with the ability to create custom project lists and general task list views. We like that this is customizable.
The ability to log time directly in Rocketlane will also be a huge time saver.
Structured task tracking has improved delivery timelines and creates buffer for client enhancements
What is our primary use case?
Rocketlane is used to track project tasks that are under development or need to be developed, and primarily serves as a project management product. When implementing a solution like an LOS implementation for a client, different timelines and criteria are tagged, such as requirement gathering and particular tasks that need to be completed. These tasks are mapped in Rocketlane along with timelines for each task, including how much time each will take and completion estimates. When tasks are configured in Rocketlane, they are assigned to a particular SPOC based on requirements. The SPOC completes the development or task and provides updates once finished.
What is most valuable?
The best feature of Rocketlane is the ability to divide tasks into different categories: To Do, In Progress, Completed, or Need Revamp. These configurations stand out the most.
To Do tasks indicate those that need to be picked up for development or completion. In Progress represents tasks that are currently being worked on. Completed shows tasks that have been picked up and finished from beginning to end. Revamp indicates that a particular task needs to be completely modified.
The implementation of Rocketlane has significantly reduced project deadlines, allowing us to deliver projects on time and even ahead of schedule. For example, a project with a six-month timespan was delivered fifteen days early, and those fifteen days were kept as buffer time for any enhancements the clients wanted. This has positively impacted the organization.
What needs improvement?
I do not see a statistics or reporting part in Rocketlane that could be implemented. That is the only suggestion I can provide.
For how long have I used the solution?
Rocketlane has been used for the last three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Rocketlane is highly scalable.
How are customer service and support?
Customer service is pretty good.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
No previous solutions were used before Rocketlane.
What was our ROI?
A return on investment has been seen. As mentioned earlier, projects are delivered ahead of timeline, and additional time is saved during that period. Additional revenue has also been generated.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The setup cost is quite good and within market standard, actually lower compared to market standard. Setup cost and licensing are both pretty good, and the pricing is acceptable.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before using Rocketlane, Microsoft Project Management Tool was evaluated, but it was quite high for the budget. Rocketlane was chosen because it is within budget and offers the same features.
What other advice do I have?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a collaborative space for the team and clients to share information on a project. The task and individual communication thread makes it effortless to track conversations.
