    Computer Software

collaborative & thoughtful partners

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is dynamic and very user friendly. There is a small learning curve. If you are not well versed in code, you can still get by. Creating and publishing courses and learning paths is a breeze. It's easy to categorize training content and make it accessible to learners.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting and analytics features are very limited. Would love to see additional reporting features in the future. Certain stylistic elements of the LMS can be frustrating (little things like fonts and text formatting of published courses).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are providing a quality UX with Skilljar for our excellent product training materials (courses, paths, live events, certifications). Without Skilljar, we would not be able to build an engaging training program. We love that we have been able to use Skilljar as our 'one-stop-shop' for customer learning.

Great customizable platform with the best customer service

What do you like best about the product?
The student experience is fantastic. Slick UI for students to easily find my company's different offerings, and we can customize catalog pages specific for certain groups of students. The customer service and success team at Skilljar is helpful and responsive to our needs, which is a very important quality in an LMS vendor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the functionality is not fully there, but there is a visible effort to improve. E.g., quiz administration remains less than ideal with no bulk upload feature, but Skilljar rolled out quiz banks not long ago, which was a much-needed update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Skilljar, we have reached 10x the number of students as our previous homegrown LMS. Our online courses get incredible feedback, and we have figured out a way to integrate custom VMs directly into our courses so students can learn by doing.

Fantastic LMS option for external use cases (customers, partners, vendors)

  • January 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar is a terrific LMS option for external users (customers, partners, vendors) especially with various extensions and add-ons, and integrations that can be utilized. If you need some insights into options and suggestions for the implementation or growing your platform, the support Skilljar offers can be critical to moving forward and reaching success.
What do you dislike about the product?
Keep in mind you will need a developers and permissions, and to roll up your sleeves if you are looking to set up SSO and Salesforce integration. There are some clunky requirements here, but even that was something that Skilljar management took seriously and worked to fix for future customers, which was much appreciated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a new LMS. We used LearnUpon for years and across many departments. Many of those departments moved to Continu. However, we were the only external-facing training and enablement program, and we found Skilljar to be a much better fit for that. Plus, the customer service has been far better than our experiences with the other two. The issues we needed to solve were better reporting and Salesforce integration, a more seamless provisioning of accounts and content access, and more control over the content and flow for the learners. Skilljar worked with us to perfect the Salesforce integration as we marched towards implementation, and in establishing SSO with the partner Salesforce portal. The last issue with control over the content flow was something we worked out independently with another vendor (7 Summits). Also, one area where we'd like to see improvement is more around-the-clock coverage with support, as our business is global and we "follow the sun".
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you know what features and integrations will be the most important to you. We did well with our Salesforce and SSO requirements, but it took some back and forth to work it all out. If you need integrations for internal audiences, like Workday, you will want to get as specific with your questions as possible beforehand to see if it will meet your needs.

Enablement for Success

  • January 14, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar enabled us to have our first ever customer-facing education portal that provided our customers with the ability to self-serve their education needs. We were previously using Litmos and had to depend on another content manager to advertise our catalog on the web.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could stand to support live instructor-led courses better. We have course sessions built within our ILT courses, and it is sometimes problematic for customers to self-select their sessions. Also, the organization of it could stand to be improved. Once you have a lot of courses in your catalog, it's going to take some patience to navigate through them all. Analytics, though much is provided, it doesn't all translate to how we understand and explain the outcomes of our programs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to expand our catalog with self-paced courses and labs, saving on resources that would've been devoted to instructor-led courses. As a result, we've expanded our user base and scaled back on our overhead costs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is likely one of the top LMS platforms in the industry, so it should already be in your top 5. The rest is up to you to figure out within the parameters of how you operationalize your education programs, which one is going to work best for you.

Skilljar is growing along with our Learning Program - and it's exciting!

  • January 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a team that is continuing to grow, with a learning program that continues to evolve, it's great to see the growth and improvements that skilljar is making. While some of the capability is still future dated, it feels like Skilljar is developing one step ahead of our needs. This growth has allowed and encouraged us to reimagine our learning platform for our clients and to leverage new releases in our delivery of high-quality client experiences.

I also appreciate the customer service. I really feel like Skilljar is available to me. Our rep- Becca Davis, has been incredible in her ability to respond and guide our team appropriately and as needed. Her engagement and responsiveness is truly unlike any other experience I've had with a Learning Management System.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the basic capability that we would like to have is not natively available in Skilljar - for example, having a flow where we can easily mark a single course completion as satisfying the requirements for another course/courses. This is something that we should probably have the capability of doing as a user without having to engage in a development service or Pro-serve. Additionally, there is still limited engagement capability from within the system, which either doesn't allow for engagement - or is limited in its customization. I would love to be able to use the same system email capability available in individual courses, but with our learning paths, and at this time, that is not possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to offer client's a learning experience that has a mix of options and is a fair representation of our current state as far as the sophistication of use client's can engage in different types of learning, including eLearning, registering, and attending VILTs through our Zoom integreation. We can easily track engagement and use this data for goal setting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Skilljar is growing and improving. If you are willing to be patient as they advance their capability, I'd definitely recommend Skilljar - their customer service is unmatched, and their commitment to evolution and meeting needs is worth the investment.

An elegant UI and flexibility make for a thorough and adaptable LMS

  • January 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In Skilljar, adding new courses and lessons is immensely simple and allows us to utilize several training types and various delivery methods.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting tools could be enhanced, and I've heard that our clients would like a learner dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have acquired several other product families and companies in recent years, and Skilljar has made it simple to integrate additional training resources and and historical metrics into our Skilljar instance.

Excellent LMS, easy to use, amazing customer service!

  • January 08, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Skilljar for our external LMS and love its ease of use and feature set. The reporting is easy and allows me to track KPIs for performance and revenue easily. We sell single-purchase course content and subscription-based use and Skilljar makes it easy to offer both options to clients. The absolute best thing about Skilljar is the customer service. I love that we are supported by our CSM and have the opportunity to meet with her monthly. The Quarterly Business Review data is also extremely beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Skilljar is a purpose-built external LMS, but we also require an internal LMS with standard integrations with things like ADP and Microsoft Teams - these additions would be amazing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Offering a branded, self-service portal where clients can register and purchase training. Having training at the client's fingertips helps us to keep Support cases down. In 2021 we expanded our content, increased Marketing efforts, rebranded our Skilljar domains, and increased revenue by 38% over 2020.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have reviewed other LMSs and Skilljar is my favorite for customer education. We have roughly 10,000 active students per year and everyone seems happy with their experience!

Training Platform that Excels in Customer Focus

  • January 07, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With a simple interface for setting up training workflows and paths, this LMS does not require rocket science to implement but also has enough depth in its tools to look industry-leading if you put the work in.

The salesforce connection is the simplest we found on the market during our initial search for a new LMS and continues to provide invaluable data to us. The SSO connection externally and internally was also relatively easy to set up and implement.

A growing company with much promise, they are the best at customer and third-party training while also reasonably priced.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any SaaS company, SkillJar puts out MVP features, and sometimes they do 75-80% of what you want the new tool to do, and you are left needing that one extra bit of feature that would make your life waaay easier. The updates come, eventually.

Quizzes on the Skilljar platform itself could have more nuance than 1 or 0, the weighting of manually graded answers or getting 3/4 for partial credit would be nice to have, but that is a complaint mostly leveled at our internal use of Skilljar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our product takes time to master both internally and externally, which means many courses and many layers of content that need to be fleshed out. The more they know, the more likely they are to stay with us in the long run.

Skilljar has given us the ability to track our customer's journey during their onboarding process so we can, with certainty, know where they are at various levels. A customer trained well is a customer retained.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Any LMS will take time to set up and use successfully, so ensure you have time set aside daily/weekly to invest in this project

Skilljar satisfied needs of both our internal as well as external customers

  • January 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar can service multiple domains and share content across all. We can educate our customers as well as our employees with the same system and share assets and courses across domains.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to schedule live events for the same course across multiple days without needing to create separate events for each day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company lacked a proper LMS system and CMS system. Skilljar filled both needs. We also needed a way to charge global customers in various currencies for external classes and not have that experience by our internal customers. We could also use groups to set different access levels to different courses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We had a lot of internal knowledge of software and we were able to customize the platform appearance to meet our needs mostly. The company is small enough to work with customers each quarter and take and implement customer requests.

Skilljar Review

  • January 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar provides a great way to deliver training and resources to our internal stakeholders, as well as our external customers. The UX is also clean and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface could use a little tweaking to improve horizontal scrolling; for example, there are instances where the headers are cut off, and you need to scroll horizontally to read them thoroughly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Providing training videos and resources across departments internally, so we don't need to do in-person training.
2. Provide customer training on new products/features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Customize your content as much as possible because the platform is excellent at supporting custom training content.
