More than just a content management system —A full API that works flawlessly!

  • March 24, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Contentful is that we were up and running in minutes. We needed an API to go live but didn't have the time or resources to build everything in house. The second thing that I really love is the caching system. We perform a change and it's live immediately, no need to do anything else, and we love that!
What do you dislike about the product?
For our use, it's missing the possibility to add logic to the fields. We would like to simplify the templates for the editors, so that they focus on the important fields... a little bit of logic would be great for that (if a, then do not display this field, etc).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Contentful has allowed us to go live in minutes with a rock-solid API. It would have taken us months to come up with an alternative (we developed a data collection software, and Contentful powers the surveys).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For headless CMSs, it's hard to beat and the free plan is generous

Awesome and super flexible CMS

  • March 13, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of contentful. It gives you all the freedom that you need to create amazing apps. Working with the Webapp is lots of fun. It's simple to use, fast and you can collaborate with a big team and manage multiple languages in a simple way. In combination with gatsby an amazing stack to build fast, modern sites!
What do you dislike about the product?
With great power comes great responsibility. Since contentful is so flexible, you certainly need some experience to get the most out of it. It takes a bit of time to fully understand all concepts from content types to internationalization but it is worth learning it and the resources on the website (plus learning center) make the learning efficient and fun.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want fast and user friendly websites and the combination of gatsby + contentful gives me exactly this. Plus, our project is multilingual and we need to be able to add new languages without too much effort and be able to manage content in a bigger team. Another advantage is that we are going to manage several Apps through one CMS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to have an experienced enough product team and invest time into understanding the core concepts before starting to build your content structure.

Reliable & Mature

  • March 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
While building a new software with a lot of unknowns, one of the best decisions a software company can make is to use Contentful to tackle the complexities with highly reliable and flexible content infrastructure.

The core product is very simple and efficient, scales from beginning to end. On top, it offers a great marketplace (and ability to build your own apps/extensions) that makes Contentful the winner of its own market.

Highly recommended.
What do you dislike about the product?
UX has some room for improvements, and company seems to be already working hard on adressing it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Contentful for storing and managing highly dynamic data that is subject to change often structurally. Some ofthese data is partially business logic, some of them are layout (yes - we use Contentful as a layout editor as well!) Contentful not only makes it possible, it also provides a neat interface to manage it so we don't have to re-invent the wheel. For us, it's way beyond a CMS actually.

The best modern CMS

  • February 07, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We tried just about all the headless CMS solutions, and Contentful was the most polished, most fully-featured, and was the easiest for non-technical team members to figure out and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
GraphQL is the future of APIs, and most small startups use it now, but it is limited to the higher-level plans.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Contentful to manage everything from our websites and landing pages, to which sponsors to display on which programs, to configuration options and translations for in-person displays.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Contentful is a great option, and by far the most polished one we evaluated.

Content structure for the creation of websites

  • January 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It allows you to add new content models very easily, it is a very intuitive and easy-to-use application aimed at beginners, in the same way it easily integrates with other modalities, including a basic text editor and its content model is really flexible, by What is characterized by being an application that helps me when automating content creation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes too long to update the changes that are made in the preview pages, which greatly delays us in the activities that depend on these actions because there is clearly nothing left to wait for them to load and as I mentioned is a Very slow process, about 1 hour or maybe more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an application that provides us with a content structure to be able to promote websites, applications and devices, thus facilitating the creation of professional content in an automated way thanks to a variety of tools as well as allowing us to share each of our creations without any type of restriction which extends our reach.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an application that will adapt easily to the needs that present as a company when creating content and in this case we speak within the context that corresponds to web pages, applications or devices in the same way will be very useful when storing data to develop a project for example.

Implementation is accessible to all.

What do you like best about the product?
Even for those not used to CMS, the UI is simple and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Spaces and users need a certain amount of development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to use and super clean to enjoy so much. LOVE how our different parties will receive updates and review their different sections. Nevertheless, it is not possible to chat on the forum with direct support or assistance. Spaces and client interfaces were also available in different packages-this would help us increase the size.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is important to choose the right partner to introduce so that items are not left as highly customisable.

Easy to Use Content Platform

  • November 08, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The software was very quick to implement and get off the ground running quickly. We were demoing within the first week of use. Loads quickly, and the API is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Image uploading can be painful and requires it to be done one by one manually. Ability to export views would be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The cloud-based platform is crucial to having our team members access and publish remotely.

Great tool - Easy to use for marketing department

  • September 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We successfully migrated from word press to Contentful. I like how easy to use it is for our marketing department to make updates to our website. It is seamless and requires no additional deployments for copy/image changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a smaller business, there is no middle tier to using Contentful. You either use the free version, or pay for large scale enterprise use, which is too much. It would be helpful if there was a middle solution to allow for expanded use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer have to make deployments to dev, staging, then to production for every small change. We were able to make templates which marketing could easily make changes to at any time. Marketing also no longer needs to depend on tech deployments.

Not Timely, Hard to use

  • September 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it looks nice and modern. That's about it. Good UI. Horrible UX.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything else. We use both Wordpress and Contentful, but I wish I could move everything back to wordpress. You never know when things will update and when an update is pushed through it could take HOURS. Additionally, it's so complicated on the back end that only our developers are allowed to approve changes making it a NIGHTMARE to use when someone is on vacation, or out of office and you have time sensitive projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nothing, I guess our site looks marginally better?
