High MySQL Compatibility and Fast Support Made Migration to OceanBase Cloud Effortless

  • May 14, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The high MySQL compatibility is a standout feature. It allowed us to migrate our legacy applications to OceanBase Cloud on AWS with minimal code changes, saving us weeks of development time.
The OceanBase service team responds to user issues with exceptional speed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our engineering team conducted a thorough evaluation covering performance and ease of use, resulting in a smooth go-live process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It eliminates the high cost of commercial database licensing. By switching to OceanBase, we reduced our database TCO by over 40% while maintaining performance on AWS infrastructure.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The MySQL protocol compatibility made our migration nearly seamless. We didn't rewrite a single query—just pointed our applications at OceanBase endpoints on AWS. The performance actually improved, especially for complex joins that previously required manual sharding logic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our experience has been smooth overall. The distributed architecture proved easier to adopt than anticipated, and our engineering team has provided positive feedback.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We struggled with read replica lag during peak hours on traditional databases. OceanBase let us distribute read traffic infinitely without consistency compromises, eliminating our app complexity.

Enterprise-Grade Reliability and Seamless HTAP on a Unified, Scalable Architecture。

  • May 13, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
its unique combination of enterprise-grade reliability, transparent scalability, and seamless HTAP capability—all built on a unified, cost-effective architecture that works for both startups and global mission-critical systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
OceanBase’s weaknesses all stem from its core design as a distributed, financial-grade HTAP database: it’s overly complex for small workloads, harder to debug than monolithic DBs, and still catching up in ecosystem polish—especially compared to MySQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves the limitation of traditional single-node databases。

Rock-Solid High-Concurrency Performance with Outstanding Support

  • May 08, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The stability under high concurrency is remarkable. During our stress tests on AWS, OceanBase maintained low latency even with thousands of concurrent connections, which is vital for us.
The technical support not only solves problems but also explains the underlying principles, helping us grow.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have been using the service for several months now, and everything works smoothly. There are no major pain points or deal-breakers for our team currently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It ensures a smooth user experience for our customers. No more slowdowns during peak hours, which has directly improved our customer retention and satisfaction scores.

Efficient Multi-Tenant Architecture That Simplifies Management

  • April 24, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The multi-tenant architecture is incredibly efficient. We can run multiple, isolated databases for different departments or microservices on a single OceanBase cluster, optimizing resource utilization and simplifying management.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are satisfied with the current feature set.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a sprawl of underutilized database instances. OceanBase's multi-tenant feature consolidates them, solving our management nightmare and significantly reducing operational overhead and costs.

Game-Changing Multi-Tenant Architecture That Simplifies Database Management

  • April 24, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The multi-tenant architecture is a game-changer. We can consolidate hundreds of database instances into a single OceanBase cluster with proper resource isolation, significantly reducing management overhead while leveraging AWS's robust networking for tenant separation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Debugging slow queries requires understanding the distributed execution plan, which has a learning curve for developers used to single-node databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves database sprawl problems, reducing our operational complexity by 60% and allowing us to serve multiple business units from a unified platform with centralized backup policies.
