    Overview

OceanBase Cloud provides fully managed database services with elastic scalability, ultra-fast performance, and high compatibility on global cloud infrastructure. OceanBase Cloud provides database solutions on the cloud, covering support, scaling, monitoring, diagnosing, development, migration, backup and restore. These are the features of OceanBase Cloud:

High scalability: OceanBase Cloud eliminates the need for big modification on database and table sharding. It allows storage of more than 320 billion data rows in a single table. It can smoothly scale in or out online (more than 100 nodes in a single cluster), and can automatically achieve load balancing without interrupting system operation after scale-in or -out, which is transparent to applications.

High compatibility: OceanBase Database provides good support for other mainstream databases. It provides an all-in-one tool kit with efficient database migration, design, and backup tools, which help customers seamlessly migrate their databases to the cloud.

High availability: OceanBase Database has innovatively launched a new city-level disaster recovery standard of "Five IDCs across Three Cities". The entire system has no single point of failure and can achieve Recovery Point Objective (RPO) = 0, Recovery Time Objective (RTO) < 30 seconds. With strong data consistency, OceanBase Database has helped customers from various industries, such as Finance, Energy, and Telecom, to upgrade their mission critical systems.

Cost efficiency: OceanBase Database adopts a single-cluster, multi-tenant design, which naturally supports the cloud database architecture and realizes resource isolation. It allows for a small-scale configuration (8 Cores, 32 GB), which achieves ease of use and cost-effectiveness.

    Highlights

    • Strong-performance HTAP: OceanBase is only distributed database that has refreshed both TPC-C record, at 707 million tmpC, and TPC-H record, at 15.26 million QphH @30000GB. It has been supporting the Double 11 with 61 million QPS at peak time and over 10,000 nodes.
    • Multi-tenant: OceanBase Database is a native distributed database with a multi-tenant architecture that allows for data and permission isolation between tenants. The tenant can select a compatibility mode and configure the replica quantity, storage location, and computing resources.
    • Data consistency: According to the Paxos consensus protocol, OceanBase Database supports chain validation between clusters and replicas to prevent data tampering. It automatically checks silent data corruptions every day to ensure strong global transaction consistency.
