We are replacing an Email security gateway solution with the Proofpoint email security solution suite, by doing that we are getting a robust and market leader solution for all of our needs.

Sometimes lack of customization, the backend interface is old, slow.

Threat detection database is the best in the market to keep email safe.

False positive can be annoying to manage especially when you have to constantly open a case.

We use Proofpoint as our main email gateway for all of our internal customers, preventing spam and phishing attempts whilst implementing routing policies
The best line of defence in e-mail security
What do you like best about the product?
We have been a Proofpoint customer for 7 years having moved from Symantec e-mail protection. We have seen this product create a massive reduction in the malicious e-mail reaching our end users. The product has evolved and Proofpoint continue to add new functionality all the time. The only negative we had from the past was the Proofpoint account managers. I must say that over the last 12 months that has taken a huge step forward and Proofpoint are taking after sales service far more seriously.

Proofpoint account managememt was a weak area in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The solution provides significant protection to a company that is very reliant on e-mail for the business to work.

What do you like best about the product?
It's very efficient and granular + easy to configure. It follows a natural flow of logic. The support is also top notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Frankly, I don't dislike anything about it. It's not cheap, but you definitely get terrific bang for buck.

It removes manual intervention almost entirely. It keeps your org protected without much headache.
Proofpoint Email Security is an essential tool for any security team.
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint Email Security is a powerful tool for any team, security or not. The ability to analyze and process 1000s of emails on a daily basis and render an effective verdict without having to use a lot of man hours is a must. It raises the IT teams abilities exponentially.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product does not have any glaring issues to my knowledge.

Proofpoint Email Security solves the problem of having to respond to massive amounts of spam and phishing/malware attacks manually. The intellegence in the product allows for learning and adapting in a ever evolving email threat landscape.

What do you like best about the product?
the Proofpoint core email protection product has consistently blocked a wide range of phishing, spam, and malware containing emails before reaching out users. This is important part of the email protection product and the quality has remained strong over time. Our email security team signs into the product on a daily basis and can administer the product easily without the need to implement additional proudcts, tools or add-ons.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the system flags legitimate emails as suspicious, which requires manual release of the email. This requires a user to login, search for the email and release, then follow up with user to confirm the email is accessible in their inbox. At times, feedback from the customer service team can take the entire SLA time for a response to be received.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
proofpoint core email protection provides protection against phishing, spam and malware. These are the biggest threats to our users since they heavily rely on email for their daily tasks. Blocking these threats at the Secure Email Gateway allows a reduced workload on our SOC team, email security team, as well as help desk teams. There are a lot of options to provide better visibility and reporting functions. We benefit by using a email security tool that works and is trusted by many organizations, and has a proven track record.
