Powerful but easy to use

  • November 14, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has been a blessing for our small nonprofit that has been stuck using clunky workspace tools with few integrations and automations. A lot of our time is spent "doing" but it's hard to track across teams that are also cross-functional. Asana has so far been able to help us alleviate these pain points.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far cost is the biggest pain point but we greatly appreciate the nonprofit discount (application required, 50% off per seat). That has been a big help and worth every penny for improvement of productivity and better tracking of outcomes and projects!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping us track cross-functional teams and projects more efficiently so things don't "slip through the cracks" and provide an at-a-glance update on demand.

There are some quarky things here and there but overall I have really enjoyed using this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Very good for task organization, but lacks functions

  • November 14, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the visual aspect of Asana and how intuitive it is. It was the first task organization tool I used and I really liked it, I felt part of the team in just a few days.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some important actions missing, such as task sharing. Asana only allows one person responsible for a task, which is bad because the manager can no longer track the progress of tasks when they are passed to someone else.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana can store all tasks and has a quick search tool to find ongoing projects. Very useful for organizing and directing demands. It allows the entire team to follow the projects and is increasing the team's productivity.

Saves Time with Intuitive UI and Powerful Integrations

  • November 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana's UI is easy to understand and pleasant, making it efficient to use. Their training program is outstanding, with great courses that are thorough and easy to take. I also appreciate that notifications are flexible and can happen via email or OS notification. The task templates are a big time-saver for projects with repeatable tasks. Additionally, the integration with other tools like Jira, Zoho Desk, email, and Slack is awesome. Lastly, setting up Asana was super easy, and I enjoy the flexibility and features it offers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like a bit more flexibility with project level customization - like adding date fields that can then be used in rules that auto-calculate and populate due dates, for example. I think the rules engines and workflow could be expanded a bit to have more flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps ensure everyone is on board and up to date on current tasks, deadlines, and completed work.

Integrates team collaboration but lacks automated data entry and advanced vendor integration

  • November 12, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case for Asana is project management. Asana allows me to invite team members to the same project, including external members, to follow up and contribute or observe.

How has it helped my organization?

Asana provides a stable environment, which is one of its pros.

What is most valuable?

I find the interface of Asana easy to interact with. It has a desktop client, which is a feature I hoped Microsoft would have, allowing interaction over the web interface.

What needs improvement?

There is room for improvement in integrating Asana with different technology vendors. The reporting and exportation of project results need enhancement. The interface has drawbacks, such as the requirement of manual input of personal data into project forms. Overall, the application form should automatically populate user data like email address and phone number.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Asana for less than a year. I started using it this year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not faced any stability issues since I started using Asana. I never encountered any glitches.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There are no limitations on the number of projects or the data entry. The limitation only applies to the number of users based on purchased licenses.

How are customer service and support?

The Asana team interacts frequently with the PMO office to help with modification required or challenges faced.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of the desktop client was easy to install and use.

What about the implementation team?

I installed the desktop client of Asana myself. I wasn't part of the IT team and thus not responsible for the integration. I am just a user of the platform.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Asana is overpriced based on its offering. On a personal level, I would not recommend it to myself. Due to its cost, I wouldn't select Asana if I were to buy a single license for managing my projects.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have no information or interaction with other solutions. Compared to Asana, Microsoft might have a better chance of utilizing and integrating AI.

What other advice do I have?

Compared to Asana, Microsoft might have a better chance of utilizing and integrating AI for improved functionality.

I'd rate the solution found out of ten.

I like it that it helps me see my and my team's progress in different projects assigned to us. It gives me an idea of where we are as a team and gives me expectations on what needs to be done next. Strategy planning made so much easy
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know yet. I am new to this, so far I am loving it. Addicted to ticking my completed tasks. Makes me so much organized
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps with making sure all deadlines are met.
