Great tool to make your software accessible to more people around the globe

  • June 04, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am running an open-source project, and for non-tech users, it's quite complicated to contribute directly to GitHub, as they have to understand the project structure and pull requests.
Crowdin allows me to add context screenshots of how some prompts are used in the software, which greatly improves translation.
Thanks to Crowdin, I've got suggestions from the community for new languages: within a few months, I've used it, and I've already released Japanese and Polish versions, as well as received several improvements for wording, which were made due to the lack of context.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing grid is very stiff. While there's a generous free version, it gets quite expensive as soon as you want to set up new integrations or increase the word limit. There are many features that I would consider optional for small projects like mine, but they're included in the basic plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This allows me to bring my project to the attention of new audiences around the globe and makes it easier to work on translation compared to other software solutions like BabelEdit, and much easier compared to direct localization files editing.

Nice tool for reviewing translations

What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin was introduced within my organization to make the workflow of translations into several languages smoother. It helped us a lot in terms of collaboration. I like the e-mail notifications with new strings to translate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is hard to get enough context in order to pick the most appropriate translation. It would be nice to be able to embedd visuals of the software interface with hints what sections have to be translated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin helps us cordinating the translation and proofreading process. Everything is tracked and we are able to reach a higher level of consistency.

Developer friendly experience

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature as a developer is the over-the-air translations. It is very nice that updating translations does not require a merge request anymore since at a large company such as the one I work at, pipelines are long and release processes are strict.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the actual user interface of updating translation strings is not very intuitive. At a previous company we used phrase for translations and while the developer experience of crowdin is better, the actual UI of phrase is better for updating translation strings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The company I work for is a very large e-commerce company serving almost all european countries and crowdin helps us localize all of our translation strings on our website.

Crowdin: great tool with many integrations

  • May 30, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We're translating content across several departments, so I'm happy that Crowdin offers so many integrations, we managed to integrate our apps, help center, and emails. I'm overseeing all the projects, and I like the UI, it's pretty intuitive, and I can work with my team here and discuss texts in the tool, instead of jumping on a call each time or exchanging screenshots.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't always know about all the new features, so I sometimes feel that I'm missing out on something. But still, it's always nice to stumble upon a feature that makes your life a little better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're mainly translating our app and Crowdin makes this process faster. We also try translating other content, but it's not a priority right now.

Great product to manage translations

  • May 30, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
We are now using AI translations which work amazingly well for us to translate from English to Norwegian.
What do you dislike about the product?
It feels more or less the same, a bit chaotic bur well overall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are developing a solution as an international team so our main language in the tech stack is English, however, our user's language is Norwegian so it is very important we can make all of the translations proper so it doesn't feel like it is not a local Norwegian product.

What do you like best about the product?
The Easy way for us to transfer your website into multi-languages in a really short time. We added twenty languages to our website and product which helped us to get more SEO traffics in different countries.
We also used Crowdin to transfer our Docs and this is really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, I think the system is too smart so sometimes we get our website links and meta description translated into inaccurate words. However, we didn't find it's wrong until we fixed those issues manually. That's something I believe Crowdin can improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Crowdin to translate our website, docs and products to support different communities in many different areas. This helped us to gain many traffics from different countries such as Germany, Italy, and more.

Crowdin is the perfect tool for i18n

  • May 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin is highly regarded for its integration with GitHub, allowing for seamless localization management within the software development workflow. This integration enables automatic synchronization of source content and translations, simplifying the process of keeping everything up to date.

Another aspect users appreciate is Crowdin's user-friendly interface, which makes translation easy and efficient. The platform provides translators with the necessary tools to work on projects, collaborate with others, and access context information, such as screenshots and comments, ensuring accurate translations. This streamlined translation process can save time and effort for localization teams.

Additionally, Crowdin's support for multiple languages is a notable advantage. It empowers users to localize content into various languages simultaneously, facilitating global outreach. With Crowdin's extensive language support, it becomes easier to engage a diverse community of translators and ensure that software or content reaches a wide audience effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
When it comes to managing branches in Crowdin, I find it can be complex at times. Sometimes, keeping track of different branches and their corresponding translations can become confusing, especially in larger projects with multiple contributors. It would be beneficial to have a more intuitive and streamlined process for managing branches within the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin primarily solves the problem of software internationalization. By providing a comprehensive localization management platform, Crowdin helps streamline the process of translating and adapting software content into multiple languages.

Very technical software

  • May 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that many users can join the project and participate in the translation process.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a good software, but rather technical; there's room for improvement. For example, it could implement a good spell-checker and adopt a more user-friendly interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Crowdin mainly as vendors, and having a nice glossary and TM available online is good. Also, when our usual resources are not available, it's nice to know we can easily find alternatives.
