Great website to manage all your translations of your applications

What do you like best about the product?
As a developer, I like the fact that you have a lot of ways to integrate with Crowdin. We for example use the bitbucket integration, when a new label is added to our code it is automatically synced with Crowdin. When you change a label, Crowdin also recognizes this and lets the translators look at it. The other way around it is also working. When a label is translated it automatically creates a pull request on bitbucket that we can just merge.
What do you dislike about the product?
The first time when setting it up it can be a bit hard to configure it correctly. It's some trial and error but whenever you have a question the support team is really fast to help you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we used Crowdin we had a big problem in knowing what labels still needed translations. Also when a label changed it was not clear in the other languages that it also needed to change. Crowdin solves all this for us.

Great tool to help with our localization

What do you like best about the product?
I like the UI interface and the features it gives to help translators produce quality translations quickly. It's really easy to provide context and comments about the translations and attach screenshots. The built-in QA tools are great - They highlight possible errors in translations: e.g. It informs you if the source phrase has brackets, but the provided translation doesn't. Also, the UI will highlight variables in the source string that should not be translated! Many great features in Crowdin!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like a little more customization for the folder structure with manual build downloads. It would be nice to be able to generate builds organized by folders then language/locale to help with some manual file management we need to do in some of our repos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has saved us time for the entire localization process and made managing localization files much easier for developers.

Crowdin - a stable, easy to use solution app and website translation platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple interface broken down by projects. Practical for 3rd party translations companies to participate in the translation workflow. It also includes at least 1 useful plugin/extension for us which is Figma.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface while simple could use an uplift - a bit more modern would be great, it is starting to feel dated.
REALLY wish there was a Webflow + Crowdin plugin which there isn't ;(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needing a central interface where our development team meets the translation company and internet stakeholders to manage our localization workflows and needs across multiple projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say 'try it out', they have a FREE plan which is enough to really get a feel for the platform and they have quite a few extensions to help simplify your localization workflows...

Excellent SaaS tool for translations

What do you like best about the product?
My Team uses their CDN for live pushing translations to our mobile apps, which has been a life saver to make sure we can iterate quickly and effectively, including language needs. On top of that their web portal makes doing the actual translations is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Each project requires me to set up separate managers, translators, configurations etc.. etc.. This is a massive hassle as i need to keep changing all these settings. A "Manage Team" would be much welcome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we were struggling to make sure our translations are consistent and managed centrally. Requiring a lot of input and manual activities from developers and QA teams. This now is simply handled as part of our automated process.

Localization platform that helps SW development teams

What do you like best about the product?
Integrations to necessary translation services and a working translation editor have helped us to work with our multi-language web and mobile apps. Clear and simple pricing is also a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up all the necessary projects was fast but needed quite a lot of fine-tuning to get everything working as expected.
The usability and clarity of the translation editor are much better than managing all the settings of various projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working smoothly with different translation services and integrating the translation management into the development team workflow. We have mostly managed to realize these goals by using CrowIn but there are some technical details in the process that needs improvement.

A great tool for a community of players

What do you like best about the product?
A synchronization that works very well with GitHub that allows to automatically update the different words or phrases to be translated and vice versa. The ability to check who can translate into a language avoids unpleasant surprises.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing has disappointed me so far, I have always succeeded in doing what I wanted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can now propose the translation of certain words to our players and they can now help us translate our different projects with great facility.

A bit pricy, but definitely a good tool we use everyday

What do you like best about the product?
Good integration with Github and support of special characters that are useful for specific languages in the Strings. We like the "auto-translate" feature to get a draft of the translations to do, this saves us some time when translating a lot of Strings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their pricing is based on "hosted words" which can be an issue if you have many words in your project. Some competitors have lower pricing, but their tool works better so I guess you pay to get the job done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need something reliable to pull/push the translated Strings to and from our projects without breaking the code of having to make long pull requests reviews to make sure everything was done correctly by our translators.

Great tool for open source projects

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Support and github integration. These are two really strong points of this project. To get started with integration is a little daunting at first but they have a stellar live support that is second to none.

I have a couple of Thunderbird Add-ons with a lot of locales to translate - with github integration you can get a very productive and quick connection to your sources. Once you get used to the workflow translation and integration of new texts is very streamlined. I also really like how it can pull similar or equal translations from your other projects, which is definitely a time saver if you share modules between them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing is based on "hosted words" which includes strings in all locales translated - this can be punishing if you want to support many locales as an open source author and push you into a price range that is prohibitive for a small (one-man) project. Thankfully I was able to talk to their support and get to a compromise. I would definitely recommend their service to both small time users and commercial products as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem I am solving (after moving from the now defunct Babelzilla) is to ake it easier for voluntary translators to contribute to my open source Add-ons.

Editing a json file directly is just much too inconvenient.

Finally the solution to the localisation management and translations

What do you like best about the product?
We've been using Crowdin for more than a year now and I cannot explain how much it has helped us to deliver better translation.
It helped resolve the routine of keeping consistent translations, understanding context and including less technical people in the process. Since my last review, we have successfully added 2 more languages to our solution and invited more people to collaborate and maintain translations.
Context editor and web app editor are both fantastic. Hotkeys and TM translations shorten the time and effort for translating common phrases
Web app editor is a star product, as my team loves it since it provides a quick and convenient option to touch up some translations, without going on the main app.
I would totally recommend it!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to complain about, to be honest. I don't remember experiencing critical issues or any downtime whilst using the Crowdin.
Regarding improvements, it would be nice to see how long some keys have been missing translations and have additional reminders to translate untranslated items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Crowdin we are having consistent translations, cutting time and effort on the translation of common phrases. Translators find context editor a life saver, as they get a better understanding of how their suggestion will look de facto.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Go-to tool for localization

  • March 03, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
#1. Intuitive interface #2. Progress bars in real time #3. Pre-translation via MT API or TM #4. Communication tools #5. Build terminology database #6 import/export TM
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the worst thing is that it requires an active Internet connection. That's very limiting for people with low bandwidth. A progressive website would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have localizations for all our software, and we can share terminology between projects. We also have multiple languages. Multiple languages under one platfrom is a first for our organization.
