I work in a company where Fivetran is being used, and we pay the licenses to them. We use it as a customer with a lot of different sources to our databases, such as Google Cloud Storage. Fivetran is used to establish data connections in the pipeline, for example, from SAP S4HANA to Google Cloud Storage.

Remove friction and lightweight
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to sync data from dw back to external systems easily and reliably

Not enough connectors and the fields available as the unique key is limited. Sometimes, the system has a few keys that are unique, we should be able to choose one of them.

Remove the need to have a data platform team to set up infra for pipeline

There are no dislikes, everything has been good so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran is helping our organization ingest data from our various data sources to centralise it into Snowflake, our enterprise data warehouse. It also hosts our DBT core projects to allow us do the transformation part of our ELT pipeline.
Expensive but valuable
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of use and wide-ranging number of "pre-baked" sources. It is very impressive, and the catalogue is always growing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing model, specially the new "MARs per connector" pricing model.

It is our primary ingestion method from SaaS providers and 3rd party solutions. The way schema changes are managed is very solid, creates consistency on our approach, and saves engineering time.
Low code, low management for data pipeline

HVR, HVA, many connectors with easy management

Setting up connectors is very easy and intuitive. Their customer support has been amazing so far. We are using Fivetran as our sole Extraction and Loading tool for our data warehouse

This is more of a niche request, but working on the sports industry there aren't as many connectors that support the tools we are used to using in the Sports Industry (Fortress, Tickets.com, TM, etc)

It helps me build managed Extraction and Loading pipelines from multiple sources and send them over to our Datalake and Data Warehouse
Fivetran is very user friendly and save lot of development effort and time.

Fivetran's support has been very promising. We feel very easy reaching support team and getting timely response for the issue. Also , Fivetran is bundle of many connector types, which had solved and saved many of our developement and effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you can improve the documentation of HVR , that would be great. We will HVR documentation are not that self explanatory as Fivetran connector.

Fivetran helps us with few custom connectors over SAAS application, where the data extraction is via API. Building an ETL over API related data and flatenning to meaningfull data based on domain/subject area had been very challenging. Fivetran effective solves it , almost most of its SAAS oriented connectors are helpfull for our enterprise data modeling.

What do you like best about the product?
The massive list of connectors and ease of use to set them all up. This makes moving data so easy. I am able to get daily data updated with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be challengeing to use very specific connectors, but that is a rare issue.

It helps me get data so much easier with out jumping through hoops.

How has it helped my organization?
Fivetran provides a user-friendly interface, which makes data pipelining and connecting the source and the destination easier.
What is most valuable?
The user interface is mostly UI-based, eliminating the need for a lot of coding. Furthermore, Fivetran offers scheduled pipeline extraction up to twelve times in a day.
What needs improvement?
There is not a lot of options to customize the pipeline, and the cost is high. Additionally, conducting extractions with transformations, like removing null values or doing simple calculations, is difficult. Vendor support is also slow to respond.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for a year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is not stable due to issues with vendor support when problems occur.
How are customer service and support?
Vendor support is not very good, and it takes time to reach out.
How was the initial setup?
The vendor handles installations on our PCs, and we receive updates either monthly or half-yearly.
What about the implementation team?
The vendor's partners are involved in updates being held on a scheduled basis.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The cost is high for using Fivetran.
What other advice do I have?
The response sense is not very high, so it's a problem. Pricing is an expensive solution.
I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.

Fivetran's connectors are highly intuitive and extract/load data effortlessly

No dislikes. Company representatives are friendly, and policy of syncing data for free for 14 days is customer-friendly
