Fivetran brings industry-leading security and compliance, cost efficiency, and ease of use to AWS destinations, such as Amazon S3 and Redshift. When combined, Fivetran's data integration and reverse ETL and AWS's robust data storage destinations unlock exceptional opportunities for near real time decision making with limitless potential for future growth. What do you like best about the product?
I like that for the first 14 days, Fivetran offers a grace period where I can change the schema as much as needed, which really helped us in scoping out our requirements without being billed for just trying to understand the data. This feature allowed us to explore how the entire data flow would look like in the future. It's also great that instead of manually dumping data into our AWS S3, Fivetran handles that for us, which feels like a Quality of Life upgrade. Additionally, I found the initial setup to be extremely easy. Overall, it's one of the smoother tools I've used recently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, I had a complaint that it does not allow us to send data back to the client's CRM, but they have solved that recently. No other major complaints. Maybe one more thing - I'm not sure if this is already there - but having an API that can be integrated with other applications like Slack or Databricks, so we can trigger system syncs without opening the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran lets us access clients' CRM data directly, avoiding AWS S3 uploads, and refresh data throughout the day. Its grace period for schema changes helped us explore data flows without billing worries.

What do you like best about the product?
Seamless connectivity and quick support. We haven’t had many incidents or much downtime, which has been great. The alerts and monitoring are solid and help us stay on top of things.
What do you dislike about the product?
The costs have increased significantly. Also, the Shopify connector doesn’t let me select or deselect columns, which is a major limitation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets us connect to multiple data sources and bring everything into an ingestible format for our data warehouse, without having to build new connectors ourselves.

Easy to set it up for several data sources and mostly reliable functionality
What do you dislike about the product?
In few data sources CDC setup, data loss could occur and it takes lot of time to debug the root cause. for ex: at purpose financial, i had bad experiecne with Fivetran
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CDC replicating jira primarily. Team said they had several issues with salesforces setup hence switched to databricks pysparkk jobs

Three things -
#1 is the wide availability of connectors across very different platforms. It just so easier to link everything via fivetran and setup ingestion process

What do you dislike about the product?
Performance can be better - especially on ingesting very large tables in incremental mode.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Collecting files/data from clients in standard formats automatically been a pain for us for long term - especially for smaller clients who may not have data layers beyond their data warehouse. Fivetran integrations helped us to setup efficient pipelines rather than dumping everything to us and build ETL to clearn up
