Fivetran great for QuickBooks Online data!
What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to get started and also offers the ability to connect with custom API scripts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only wish there were more native connectors for low-code apps like Airtable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to push QuickBooks Online data to a Google BigQuery data warehouse because you actually can't export all the QBO data there is with the CSV exports they expose in the web application. Because we're able to move QBO data into a data warehouse, we're now able to do incredible business intelligence platform visualizations.

For their specific functionality, the documentation is excellent. Once the setup is completed, it simply works.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I haven't had any issues. Our only concern was about sending our data through a third party, but their security standards seemed ok

Don't be afraid to contact technical support. They're friendly and very knowledgeable.

Better overall reporting of all ELT jobs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is no need for Integration engineers to do APIs between our many cloud systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have many cloud databases to connect the FiveTran tool is amazing. Setup connections in under 30 minutes and start ingesting data. In the old days this took a month and a team!! This tool has made my small BI team really look great as we can ingest new data and get it into Looker FAST and accurately!

The ability to control the synchronization updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admin UI is a bit too simple. Fivetran is missing a more complex permissions system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pulling data from FB and google analytics. Fivetran allows you to reduce the cost of ETL maintance.

What do you like best about the product?
Credit based system, instead of fixed monthly charges in major advantage. On successive sync, they charge only for delta, that is a huge plus, considering successive sync have less data as compared to first sync.

We were trying to build eCommerce specific data analytics system. Instead of building our connectors and data pipeline. Fivetran offered that complex part to build our MVP, we can focus on the analytics part only.

Fivetran is intuitive and easy to use. Our data pipelines are reliable.

Sometimes I need to resync tables. We hit volume limits in our saleforce sync and sometimes those loads fail.

We don't need to spend our resources writing ETL pipelines

The onboarding was super quick. The UI is intuitive. The documentation is simple and accessible.
There is a wide variety of connectors. And for internal APIs or obscure SaaS apps, you can always write a custom connector through Cloud Functions hosted on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

It can be pricey. The pricing structure around MARs can be challenging to comprehend.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have automated the loading of data from various data sources into our warehouse daily and reliably. This lets us focus on building models instead of on having to build systems to extract data.

Fivetran is revolutionizing the ETL/ELT space. I look upon it as a gamechanger when it comes to the modern data stack.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Fivetran is user-friendly and easy to use. The learning curve is very minimal, and it gets the job done well. The process of loading data into my pipelines is very straightforward. It also allows non-technical stakeholders to load data just as fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of choosing a new name for a google sheet despite deleting a previous sheet with the desired name.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some problems that I'm solving with Fivetran include automating data upload for manual updates to tables. Fivetran has made it extremely easy for non-technical stakeholders to manage their own data tables. Fivetran's capabilities have saved my team and me a lot of time and effort by not creating new ETL pipelines for small tasks.

Not enough insight log information on failure. Web UI should show more information on failures.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting data from different client providers. Fivetran API are very robust and provides other ways to schedule jobs.
