Better than dumpster fire Atlassian but not the WOW I desire
What do you like best about the product?
Simple and fast. Whatever you do, please, please, please keep the site fast and performant. In general, I think the document management is really good and I LOVE the ability to use emojis for a document icon. Support is also excellent. I love how responsive it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me to drool over this product, rave about it to my friends and be a 10, the comments have got to be better.
No system has gotten this right and it drives me nuts. Here is what I dislike about Notion's
1. It is hard to comment on a view/table. The comments can end up hiding part of a table. It feels clunky when I do it.
2. We start a big old discussion on a request for comment (RFC). This is awesome. I address feedback in a thread. BAD. If I deleted the comments on text, suddenly the comments are lost. I can try to get back to the discussion but it is difficult.
Documents:
For this to also be a step up, I want a way to see what documents I have been assigned to. Otherwise it gets lost in the day to day. I think views are complicated to figure out. I should honestly try and level up my Notion game by watching a few videos but when I create a view, my brain always first thinks "WTF is going on" and then I delete it unless I really need it.

Best documentation product I've used and it does level up my company's ability to document and scale. It is awesome for documentation plans and tracking where we are at. It is just the discussion around documents that need improvements for me to start recommending it. Right now if a collegue or friend asked, I'd say "Well, Notion is the best one I've used but it still just doesn't quite do it for me. For my own selfish reasons you should try out a different one on the market and report back to me"
The tool that changed my life
What do you like best about the product?
I've used a lot of tools in this space, and none of them were very easy to find things, customize, etc. With Notion, you can make it your own. I love how easy it is to create templates. It has saved us tons of times. When it comes to content on pages, you can literally make them whatever you want with the various content block types that exist. If you change your mind, it's also very easy to change one content block type to another or move pages or content around. With one tool, I can do everything I need to...capture meeting notes, create project plans, create guides and deliverables, keep track of statuses of various things, even create our product roadmap. I have been able to do everything I've needed. Anytime I have questions, support is quick to respond.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is big. If you understand databases, I feel like Notion is the most powerful tool in the world. If you're used to working more in code or technical systems, it's a breeze. But if you're a person that is used to working in Microsoft Word or teams for everything, it's not very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication across the organization - we have a single source of truth. This saves time and energy that used to be wasted tracking down answers or setting people straight on things.
Project planning - I'm able to manage all projects in Notion, which means I don't have to work in a project management system and then move to something else to get other information out.
Strategic planning - We're able to do our strategic planning for our business here, which provides instant visibility to leaders and staff.
Meeting management - No longer do I have to send out meeting notes after a meeting. I can share an agenda ahead of time, people can add items to discuss real time, we can have a database of to-dos and a place for notes. In real-time everyone can see things, and it's easy to follow-up after.

Intuitive, user-friendly, and fun!
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Notion offers a great interface to collaborate with peers. It is easy to create pages that have a lot of content and peers can be tagged so that they may view information and comment directly. It's also more practical to use Notion when there is a lot of information as it is more readable and the load time is faster.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main issue with Notion is that it can quickly become a never ending suite of Notion pages that are embedded into each other. This makes navigating Notion a bit overwhelming at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps us have all documents in the same place and is easy to navigate. In addition, it is a great tool to share a great quantity of information with other teams as you can put an almost unlimited amount of info.
Notion is one of the new generation of tool-building tools, but requires discipline to use
What do you like best about the product?
- Simple, flexible content model.
- Simple, robust layout.
- Relational tables are a game changer.

- Relational tables are a game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Lack of automation (despite acquiring an automation company).
- Very poor import/export functionality, especially related to tables and relations.
- Weak formula language, rather than using a more robust existing approach to scripting.
- Poor management of property layout and visibility.
- Lack of follow-through on database views: views don't apply to relation properties.
- Underpowered rollup properties: can't be accessed by value, can't be used in rollups.
- Poor history view.
- Lack of "suggest changes" view when editing collaboratively, making review of edits impractical.
- Way too easy to unintentionally cause havoc by editing/deleting properties that are used in views you don't even know exist. There are no safety belts.
- The UI for editing table views and properties has had an overhaul. While streamlining certain things and adding capabilities, it also became rather cluttered and obscure.

The best organisational tool I've ever tried
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility to create a system 100% personalized
The template feature
The ability to collaborate with teams, partners, and clients in real-time directly in Notion without having to send never-ending emails
The Notion team always listening to feedback to create a better product every day

What do you dislike about the product?
The blank page when we begin with Notion, even if with templates, it can be quickly handled
The impossibility to create recurring tasks without using the API and a third-party tool like Make or Zapier

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is basically an extension of my brain today. All my life, business, knowledge, projects are written and organized in Notion so I can focus on what my brain do best : thinking

If you're looking for a tool to centralize all your ideas, notes, tasks, go for it !
Most useful app for students!
What do you like best about the product?
As a student, i particularly like the rich note-taking experience that notion provides. I can use the standard mardown langauage for note taking, but can also attach and embed links, attach PDFs, use TeX for math, and so on.
The most useful feature of notion however, is it's pwoerful databases, I used them to organize my notes, track my project progress and even make a resource map. I have even used databases to track my rally times in Dirt Rally 2.0!

What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that is sorely missing in the notion note taking experience is tables, we do have databases, but sometimes all you want is a simple table. Additionally, writing functions and automations for databases could be made simpler and more intuituve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion also makes sharing and collaborating especially easy and intuitive. It was specially useful in group projects and in collaborating on stuff during the WFH times. My team really appreciated the inbuilt kanban board.
I full-on drunk the Koolaid
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Notion is so versatile.
I've found that it is an excellent collaborative tool for working with clients because it helps me present a paradigm that they're already familiar with and can just start working inside of without emailing a bunch of things back and forth or having to do as much teaching. At the end of the day, everything being a "page" is a good thing.

What do you dislike about the product?
I do find that there are much fewer odd quirks than when I started my Notion journey, but that said there are some growing pains that I fully believe will be resolved over time. It's easier now than it has ever been to create a better high-level project management space. I'd like to see more native integrations, searchable comments, but they're very responsive and actively improving. I have little to complain about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run my entire business out of Notion.
It gives me the ability to create what I need for a given purpose. Project management - check, onboarding workspace - check, client communication - check, check, check.

Notion is my second brain & the tool I never knew how much I needed.
What do you like best about the product?
I adore Notion because it gives me a place to use as my second brain - as someone that lives with chronic illness & fatigue if it isn't in Notion, it no longer gets done! I also run my own business and rely heavily on it as a productivity tool, project management system, task manager, and also for the personal tasks in my life like managing & tracking symptoms of my chronic illnesses through to shopping lists and note storage. What I love most about Notion is its flexibility - it can truly become whatever you want it to be! I also love how accessible Notion is. I've introduced so many people to it, from clients through to my family members to help manage their own business tasks or to help them manage personal tasks. Notion is incredible and you'd be hard pushed to find a use case that *doesn't* work in Notion in my opinion. And it continues to get better & evolve - the new database improvements were fantastic and show how dedicated the team are as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve for Notion can be quite steep when you're starting out, and I would say that some people dive in without really understanding what they want to create (and I certainly did this at the beginning too!). Learning about productivity methods, or at least having a clear vision or picture for what you want to create, is essential in creating a usable Notion space that works for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I struggle with remembering details and tasks that need completing due to chronic fatigue and having all of my systems set up in Notion means that I'm able to land at my computer and simply do the work I want to do - and that needs to get done. Using Notion to manage my projects means I'm also never lost on what needs doing next in a project, and I can include ALL the details and set up my projects exactly how I want to, instead of having to fit my setup into another system that's more restricted.
Notion, Lifes sandbox
What do you like best about the product?
I love how notion is very flexible, although it took me a while to get used to it however once you know what you're doing, its like a sand box for you to multiple aspects in your life to your hearts content
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish notion could work in sync with some other apps, for example, although you can get google calendar to appear on your notion, you can barley interact with it. I would also like if notion had a feature which would send notifications
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to be incredibly unorganised however notion has helped me. It helps me manage finances, any person projects, also helps me stay more productive and manage my university work.
Notion is empowering!
What do you like best about the product?
Notion is flexible and enables the user to build out a world of their own. It takes a bit to start up, but very quickly you can make use of it which is rare for these types of super customisable tools. Be it private, or for business it is an amazing service that helps you organise your knowledge, build-out databases, create no-code apps and so much more. It's just a workhorse in itself.
What do you dislike about the product?
Two things I would urge Notion team to change is:
- I wish they gave options of custom colours because their colour palette is limited and doesn't always work well for creating visual hierarchy.
- More security for regular users, as right now there is no secure login unless enterprise price plan.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion gives the user tools to create a custom system to manage everything with very little effort. It is very creative and it enables me to organise my life and work without feeling confined to someone else's idea of the process.
