Review: Notion with AI – A Game Changer for Productivity

  • May 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using Notion for a while now, and the addition of the AI feature has genuinely transformed how I work. It’s like having an extra brain on hand — whether I’m looking for something in my own documents, searching across the web, or even digging through public pages, it helps me find what I need quickly and effortlessly. That kind of intuitive access has saved me hours.

What I especially appreciate is how seamlessly it integrates with my workflow. The AI doesn’t just answer questions — it surfaces content, links ideas, and makes navigating my workspace incredibly smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
That said, there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to formatting. The AI sometimes needs very explicit instructions to make layout or design changes, and it can miss the mark if I’m not crystal clear. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s worth being aware of if you rely heavily on visual structure.

Overall, Notion continues to be a powerful, flexible tool, and the AI makes it even more capable — especially when you need speed, clarity, and creative support all in one place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the problem of having information scattered across multiple tools. Instead of juggling between docs, task managers, note-taking apps, and wikis, I can keep everything in one place — neatly organised and easily searchable. The addition of AI takes it a step further by helping me find what I need instantly, whether it’s buried in my own notes or across public pages and the web.

It’s also helped reduce the friction in managing projects and collaborating with others. I can create and customise pages exactly how I need them, and while the AI sometimes needs clear direction for formatting changes, it still saves me significant time by drafting content, summarising notes, or answering quick questions.

Overall, Notion helps me work more efficiently, stay organised, and spend less time switching between apps or digging for information.

An amazing knowledge management tool with an AI writing assistant!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Capturing departmental knowledge in one place while searching using Notion AI is convenient and powerful. This search tool makes finding answers to questions through our knowledge base super easy and quick.

Also, using Notion as a knowledge management tool is so convenient because I can use the AI writing assistant features, such as making paragraphs shorter or longer, changing the tone, or even brainstorming ideas, all in one place. I don't need to switch to multiple apps to do this!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing to dislike! It would be great if the features when using charts, graphs, and data could be even better, but it still works great now!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We generally need to use different apps for different purposes but Notion makes writing, capturing knowledge, capturing meeting minutes, organizing knowledge and searching for answers so easy all in one place!

Notion is flexible easy to understand and has a lot of room to grow in

What do you like best about the product?
I like that notion is easy to understand and flexible for any situation it can go from a simple task list to a very complex multi database power house. Makes it easy to introduce notion to new users and up skill pro users.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can get complex and there are some easy things you should be able to do that are way too complicated since they don’t have bespoke solution for. Since it’s trying to be everything it doesn’t do one thing perfectly and you seem to hit this wall everytime you plan a new space. Also when you have multiple accounts it’s a nightmare to try and use them at the same time specially if there are linked and share information it can get really confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion has taken my 5 project manage software workflow into just one. It’s great to know that all my information is in one place that’s notions greatest strength sometimes its greatest weakness. It’s like having all your stuff in one room in your house great because you know everything is in that room but very hard to find at times

What do you like best about the product?
I love Notion's flexibility, which stands out against other restrictive platforms, allowing me to structure my business and personal projects seamlessly. The ability to embed multimedia and create complex structures easily enriches my workflow. I also appreciate the AI features, which help me build and update new pages and databases effortlessly. Notion makes me feel like a developer when building custom solutions, inspiring creativity and enhancing project visualization.

{"I find there was a steep learning curve when I first started using Notion, as the immense freedom it provides can be overwhelming.","I'm frustrated that Notion doesn't have the capability to directly talk to the database like I can with ChatGPT. Currently, I have to export pages to ChatGPT to utilize those conversations.","I experience occasional freezing issues when designing entire pages and databases in Notion.","I'm annoyed that despite frequently recommending Notion and bringing new users to the platform, there is no reward or commission system in place for regular users like me."}
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to structure business operations and client projects, transforming messy notes into organized, beautiful systems. It's flexible and empowers me to quickly bring ideas to life, making me feel like a technical builder despite being a designer.

An essential tool with a few limitations

  • May 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion makes it really easy to organise all kinds of information in one place, whether that's notes, project plans, checklists, or databases. I like how flexible it is, as you can structure things however you want, for both personal use and team collaboration. It looks clean and is simple to use once you get the hang of it. The ability to link between pages and build dashboards is especially useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formatting options can feel quite limited, e.g. there’s no way to align text or customise layouts beyond the basic column structure, which can be frustrating when you’re trying to create something visually polished. Reporting is also a bit of a weak spot; you can build views and filters, but getting meaningful insights out of databases takes more effort than it should. That said, the integrations Notion has been rolling out recently seem to be heading in the right direction, so I’m hopeful this will improve over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem we needed to solve is centralising our project management across all departments. Doing this then laid the foundation for using Notion AI, so all team members can search and ask AI queries across the entire company knowledge base.

The performance can lag when working with larger databases or more complex pages, which can be frustrating during tasks that require efficiency.

Notion helps me keep all my notes and ideas in one place. It makes organizing my information easy. I can create different content types, from simple notes to databases. I sort my ideas by project, topic, or importance to find what I need quickly. I also link pages together, allowing me to see how ideas connect.
