Positive Use for Instructional Design
What do you like best about the product?
Autosave, collaboration, commenting, streamlining, ease of use once learned.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of creativity. Does demand uniformity, but also halts creative endeavors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working on a remote team, this allows us to share ideas, projects, and assign tasks with ease. We can track our projects and easily communicate on pages with one another.
Easy to use, lots of options
What do you like best about the product?
I love how highly customizable Notion is. I also love how I can invite people on my team to be guests and participate with the material I'm creating. I use Notion daily to organize my projects, write content, organize my calendar, and communicate project status with my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be overwhelming on how to set up pages/databases as you want it because there are so many options and you have to learn the tools to be able to use this very powerful tool. So there is a big learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest ways notion is helping us is that I produce a weekly podcast. There are many tasks we need to complete before the podcast goes live and even after the podcast goes live. With my team I can organize all these pieces so that we can stay on top of this weekly production. So Notion functions like a to do list, a way to communicate with my team about each of the steps, a way to write show notes, and social media content for the podcast, and a way to track the schedule as it changes. I'm probably forgetting some things, lol
Great analysis, but fails to read through long documents
What do you like best about the product?
Notion AI does a great job of analyzing my data. The summaries are concise and to the point.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion AI currently overlooks and does not process lengthy documents in detail. I aspire to incorporate book chapters I rely on for references, allowing the AI to thoroughly review them and construct responses to my inquiries. Additionally, I've observed that documents added recently tend to be disregarded by the AI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion AI bring my notes and ideas to life. I love how it can craft me a response strictly based on the data that I trust without showing bias.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Notion is how flexible it is. Unlike other apps that kinda force you into using specific templates for a variety of things (like formatted project planning docs or task-oriented to-do lists), Notion gives you a lot of options to organize things your way. And so it's easy to use and customize for everything I need; work, life, and school all in one place. Moreover, the user interface is quite intuitive and easy to navigate. Thus, it's easy to leverage its full suite of features without feeling overwhelmed. I've used it a lot for a lot of things and so I've also adapted my routine to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a number of UI features that could be improved, in my opinion. This includes - ability to organize opened tabs, ability to control default opening view (i.e., new tab or side peek), ability to change margins, and improved use of reminders (like the reminder being turned off if the to-do is done or the task is marked done).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team primarily uses Notion for project and sprint planning. The AI is very useful in this in terms of making templates for project requirements that help guide the meeting and allow us to think of the items need to be discussed and questions that need to be answered. It also makes it easier to turn bullet point notes into proper and clean documentation. I would say that templating is the strength of the AI assistant. It could use some better scoping though, since sometimes it considers things in the document that I don't necessarily want it to consider when writing or summarizing a part of the document.
It is also helpful in putting up a knowledge base. I usually dump all that I have learned in using a tool in bullet points, and the AI is quite helpful in making that understandable. Again, I would say it is not as accurate as I would want it to. It gets confused after I ask to change it a couple of times (like make it longer, make it shorter, etc.).

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it's a database I can customize to my every need. It's quite literally become my second brain. I don't get stressed anymore about forgetting things.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it wasn't so pricey, I don't mind paying at all. But having to pay for the base subscription plus AI when a lot of AI is free in other software is a bit of a bummer. Specially because it is limited as an AI to my database.

It's helping me keep my writing and life projects organized. Helps keep my whole life in check and helps me not forget things. Keeps my momentum going on projects.

I like the overall user interface and compatibility to add multiple functionalities, such as calendar, boards, and notes all in one place

I think it gets a bit confusing sometimes when opening windows.

Its receptiveness to tone direction is not good enough. It will take multiple instructive corrections for it to finally take on the verbal tone that I want.

It doesn't take directions well when it comes to modifying the output.

The time it takes to produce research. Saves me time and allows me to write more.
Can't live without it!

Notion is my absolute go-to everyday. My entire life is managed in Notion - both personally and professionally. I used to have projects spread out across so many different apps and platforms and I love how I can keep everything together in the one space.
Plus the customised aesthetic capabilities are everything! If you're patient and have time to set it up to your liking, you can make it work and function for your preferences.
I'm now a paid user of their new AI feature. I use it as an idea generater, grammar checker and I love how you can use it to look for things or compile inisghts from your entire Notion with the Q+A function. I switched from another well known AI as it still lacked abilities and. What I like about Notion's is it doesn't go rogue when you ask it to do something.

The table functionality has a long way to go. I still use Google Sheets or Numbers for some of my databases due to the editing capabilities and UX experience.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of them! LOL! I used to have work spread across Google Docs, Apple Notes, Evernote, Trello etc. Having everything in one place for my personal life and company makes life so much easier!
Always something new to learn and fun to make
What do you like best about the product?
I love just how customizable things are with Notion. Do you want a simple table on a sheet? No problem. Do you want to create a fancy landing page with links to various information, fun pictures, and a standout call to action? It's also completely doable. Pages can be connected or stand-alone. Simple or complex. It's just so versatile, and I love that about it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because things are so customizable, it can initially be a little overwhelming. It can be easy to mess up formatting and not know an easy way to get it back to the way it was. So, the learning curve can be a bit discouraging and overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a lot of trouble staying organized when it comes to managing projects. It's a lot of one document here and one document there. Trying to keep track of team members' progress can also be a lot, but with Notion I can do all of that in one place. What I love soooooo much are the many templates Notion has to offer. Not only do the templates exist, but they come prefilled out with examples, making things much more manageable and less daunting.
