Organization in its simplest form

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Notion? Its integrations!
I incredibly appreciate the range of blocks that allow you to embed whatever your heart desires. My personal favorite is the Replit embed for sharing code, and the database blocks are super high up there too.

Some notable features that I love:
- All about data! Organize your data in any manner, layout, or appearance you like.
- The design! It's easy to adopt and excellent for power users. There is no complication and it values simplicity.
- Unlimited use cases. I use Notion on my team and in my personal life. Sometimes it's for tracking todos and other times for monitoring projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike about Notion. It's unopinionated and leaves everything up to you. I guess my biggest critique would be its speed and uptime. Notion's growth has led to some occasional downtime due to their servers being unable to handle the traffic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team uses Notion to track customer feedback and progress on our products. In my personal life, I use it to write down ideas, track goals, and get an insight into my lifestyle.

Right when I started using Notion, the benefits become apparent.
- Everything is in one place. No searching through notebooks or confusing organizational systems.
- Transform ideas from just a thought to reality. Notion is great for tracking goals and helping you stay on path.

Only good, but getting better

What do you like best about the product?
- Notion is a relatively easy to platform to use from a user standpoint (creating pages, viewing pages)
- Clean looking pages, no frills UI, intuitive menu layout
- Tons of ways to customize pages
- Great list of 3rd party integrations, including G Suite
- Their Support Team is responsive and helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
- Notion is a relatively hard platform to Admin. I believe they may have made some changes recently, but limiting access to certain pages for certain users is a bit cumbersome.
- For the "Team" plan at $8 per user, the amount of content you can create is based on "Blocks". Most small to medium teams will blow right past their 1,000 block limit. Upgrading to the "Enterprise" plan with unlimited blocks at $20 per user is quite a jump in price.
- From the author's standpoint, the clean and open nature of their pages can sometimes feel overwhelming. When starting with such a blank page, it's sometimes hard to know where to start, ultimately leading to writer's block. There are standardized templates, but I feel like for non-creative minded people like myself it's hard to get going. You really need to first envision how you would like your page to look before getting started, rather than write and re-arrange later like I tend to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having an easy-to-use and accessible knowledge center is a must for small-sized companies trying to scale. The goal should be to reduce the amount of time employees spend looking for information, including new hires. In small-sized companies, knowledge tends to be handed down verbally or located in multiple places, thus making it difficult to find. We ran into this issue as our company was growing, but the biggest challenge is creating ownership for updating the information.

So many tools all in one place

What do you like best about the product?
Notes and spreadsheets and links are all in one place easy to find. No more looking for where I stored this or that on my computer
What do you dislike about the product?
The properties layout is a single column only with no options to put your properties fields into 2 or 3 columns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of multiple lists and notes related to accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it! You really can't lose. It's priced very nicely for a solo freelancer and the software updates never take away functions nor do the updates force you to change the way you have been using the software. You will likely find that this software fixes or improves something you didn't even know needed to be fixed or improved.

Notion: The epitome of software high performance

What do you like best about the product?
THE UI. It's sweet eye candy with the usability of a wizard. I have been writing PRDs and managing the product roadmap for more than six months now, and it feels effortless. There have been very few products apart from Apple which I can say that these "just works." Mostly it is so flexible that anything you want to imagine you can do. Be it embedding wireframes and mocks, managing roadmaps and teams. There are products that are built for a specific use case than there are products that empower the user to create any use case.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's quite slow and feels annoying sometimes. I particularly love the Spotlight-like feature in every product, be it Webflow or Superhuman, but sadly Notion lacks behind in this one, and the search is not up to the mark both in terms of functionality and in terms of speed as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I currently use Notion for:
1. Documentation
2. Managing the product roadmap
3. Managing the product team

It feels nice, and as I said, it just works, and I like the simplicity yet how robust the platform is. There are a ton of benefits that I can list, but I'll restrict to the best ones:

1. Ease of use
2. Almost zero learning curve
3. Flexibility
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it and see if you can get free credits under the startup program, you can get 1000$

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Notion allows me to have a little bit of structure, but is also flexible enough for whatever I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be a little frustrating to use - like when I want to format text, it would be nice if when I highlighted text I saw options like Medium.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great thinking space when I don't quite need Miro.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion has been fantastic for collaborating on content creation projects, whether it be blog articles, youtube scripts, or eBooks.

The best tool for productivity and organization, both professionally and personally!

  • October 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I live how flexible and powerful Notion is. It allows for so many workflows like a Kanban board, tables, managing multiple databases of files for certain pages, sharing information internally with a team, and driving productivity. It also servers as a great way to take quick notes when on a call or organizing my own to-dos. As a team, this has really helped everyone work together on big projects and break things down into small, assignable chunks. We have used a main central template for bigger projects and assign smaller parts to functional areas and this has worked exceptionally well for us. Essentially a whole workflow process dedicated to way our company has chosen to work which is super valuable!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the flexibility across several users causes some confusion and doesn't have many guardrails in place to really keep everyone using Notion the same way. One issue we had ran into was several different users had their own opinions about how the layout should look and work, which then caused some teams to not be as organized as others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion for my product development process, including discovery, competitive analysis, conducting customer interviews, and writing requirements for the development team. It has been an essential part of my success and pairing with other functions like Design and Engineering!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Appointing someone as somewhat of an admin for Notion templates and workflows is super helpful in making sure you can handle a broad set of use cases, while not causing chaos with everyone creating pages and templates in one department.
