Best personal note app with superb functionalities and collaboration features
What do you like best about the product?
Best of the best is the super flexible embedding capabilities that makes note organisation and referencing easy, thus it is great to put things into structures anywhere within the documents so you dont have to go back to find and add by copy and paste.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing particular, but to make the best out of the tool you need to be willing to learn a little bit at the beginning so you can free yourself afterwards by leveraging the shortcuts, the drag and drop, the tables and the filters, after all, they are all still very basic and intuitive ones.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Information clipping and organisation in a more flexible way for personal and business users or a mix, saving me time to jump between excel and doc for cut and paste in google and able to use and display anything anywhere within the documents.
Great tool for documentation
What do you like best about the product?
The customizability of documentation, and the ability to nest and link pages to each other.
Simultaneously editing makes it easy to collaborate with other team members remotely.

When Guests who own pages on notion leave the workspace, pages become inaccessible to members.
Sharing pages with guests after recent updates may accidentally add them as members of the workspace due to the UI changes

We are keeping documentation up to date and adding interactive elements to keep members engaged while reading lengthy documents.
Keeps our documentation organized instead of a folder of word docs.

Great tool for internal documentation

There's a lot to like about Notion compared to most wikis I've dealt with:
* Great typography
* Easy to understand the version history
* Block formatting
* Solid media handling (especially like the SVG support)

My biggest pet peeve: You can easily nest pages inside each other, creating self-explanatory hierarchies, but there's no way to have it expand the sidebar to show where your current location.
I don't fully understand their data model, and sometimes it seems you need to. For example, you'll find you cannot delete a column from a table. I guess the tables are implemented as a database, and it picked that field as the primary identifer which you cannot delete. So you have to swap things around to get your actual identifer in that column and then delete the other column.
I wish they had a clear pattern for user-specific pages. For example, I can create a private page and manually add people to it, but it would be nice if each user had a page by default and could create children for specific topics.
There's some kind of glitchy behavior around the auto conversion from Markdown, especially if you paste in sections with code formatting. It tries to turn code blocks into inline code and makes a bit of mess.

My team uses it for almost all of our architecture and planning docs. We can easily include screen shots, videos and architectural diagrams. The commenting features make it easy to discuss specific bits.
It's the easiest way to focus on what matters
What do you like best about the product?
Thanks to the power of its databases, Notion allows me to quickly find any information, even if it's from a long time ago. This gives me peace of mind and allows me to move forward in other areas of my work without stress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Databases are currently very powerful, and having so many options can be overwhelming. It would be good if they could be simplified a bit without losing power and customization capabilities.

Great
What do you like best about the product?
I can manage all things I need for work and for my personal life. We have almost all our company data in notion, for example, managing all tasks, backlogs, data about products, and customer support data (we collect it there, because then it goes in backlog).
What do you dislike about the product?
It usually falls down if I have opened a few pages of notion in the browser (chrome). For example, I need to plan tasks for a week for developers, and in one page, I open weekly planning, and on another kanban desk to orientate. And then one of them is freezing, and nothing helps.
Also, it became not handy to create kanban desks for four and more columns, I need to open settings and properties, and then I don't even remember, I have to open the answer video from your support.

Everything for my team in one place. Don't need to switch to different places to work. And it's easy to use. Don't need to pay for many services either. And also I can see everuthing my team does, because all pages are opened for everyone. Everybody knows everything what's going on
My Favorite Project Management Tool To Date!
What do you like best about the product?
I've been looking for a great solution to manage a $259k SBIR Phase I Grant we received this past June (2022), and I look at other products, but they didn't meet my needs. I luckily stumbled across Notion, and it's perfect for my needs. As a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2004, I've managed numerous projects, from small projects to multi-million dollar IT projects for Newport News Shipbuilding. One of the biggest challenges is communication amongst the project team, and another is configuration management. Notion helped me solve both of those, easily.
It's very easy to use - when I first found it, I initially looked at consultants on Fiverr to help set it up. But I didn't go that route because as I started using it, I realized how simple it is. I even found a few YouTube videos that helped as well.
I'm actually presenting what I've done with Notion to my government program manager this week, to show him that we're managing a project in a new and different way than he's ever seen. Anxious to hear what he says.
I also LOVE that Notion offers help for startups, and doubles the offer for those who have participated in one of their recognized accelerator programs. My startup received a $1,000 credit through that, which has been extremely helpful!

What do you dislike about the product?
Not much - I have been able to do so much with it. That said, there are a few minor things.
1. I hate to see Notion send out emails telling people how to manage a book club, manage recipes (I use Paprika for that – it’s a great app and better suited for this function. Why? Because it auto loads website URLS that have recipes, and downloads the recipe, separating the ingredients list, directions, photos, etc. – Notion can’t do any of that) and so on when it can do so much more. I have seen similar issues with other apps that try to do the same thing, tell you how to use a PM app to manage your life, when most people don’t really need that.
2. I'd like to have a better way to have team members that can participate in the project, and be assigned to parts of it, but without giving them the ability to do anything inside it so that I can get everyone involved without having to pay a license for everyone. I already have 12, and I have 3 people that I would like to add for this.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As previously mentioned, a Project Manager's role is 90% communication. Notion not only enables a much better experience for that (even asynchronously), it also enables storytelling, which makes it much more memorable for the project team.
Like building things? Stickler for customisation? Notion is THE app for you
What do you like best about the product?
Notion is incredibly useful for building custom workflows and databases - whether you are a student, business owner, project manager, or lifelong learner, and whether you have any coding knowledge or not!
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion can be difficult to learn at first as there are so many features and database views to try out. However, starting out with templates can be a fantastic way to learn about the platform and figure out what works for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a student and researcher, I often have to manage multiple, complicated tasks that relate to one another or have to do with large amounts of data. Notion's relational databases make it easy to connect related databases and build efficient workflows. Additionally, project management features like the Calendar and Kanban views make it easy to see what needs to be done at a glance.
Using Notion increased our productivity!
What do you like best about the product?
It's super easy to keep things tidy and clear for everyone. And the templates are amazingly well-built for their purpose.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that comes to mind. We've been using it for almost two months now, but enough to assess whether it works or not. And it does work well for our team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to be organised and efficient. The user interface is also a plus, as it is simple and visually a pleasure to look at.
Makes sharing documents and ideas very easy
What do you like best about the product?
The best part is the ease of sharing documents and getting a doc in shape with minimal effort. Since, I am a coder and the people that I share documents with are also coders, working with Notion feels very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the way tables works in Notion. They look very nice and easy to use to but at the same time it feels like being stuck inside a walled garden. The tables are not flexible if you want to use them for some specific tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I did not like Google Docs and Word because there is a significant overhead associated with creating a new document and then formatting and everything. Notion provides very limited number of options in terms of formatting and the UI is overall nice so it's much easy to share your ideas with other people.
Amazing, sleek and modern
What do you like best about the product?
Notion is a platform I find personally amazing — it significantly helps me at work and it also helps my company. I use notion for thinks like job boards and OKRs while personally using it to track tasks, todos and use notes. It's sleek and easy to use, taking up not much space on my PC too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike anything about notion. It's amazing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is solving problems such as losing paper notes, portable notes on my phone and more.
