Powerful,

What do you like best about the product?
I really like Notion's flexibility. Notes can have many different types of content including text, PDFs, links, photos, and videos. You can connect to more than 20 apps like Google Drive, GitHub, Slack, Dropbox and even Zoom. I'm not very familiar with databases, but using them in Notion is very intuitive and almost addictive. I keep finding more ways tomake my life simpler every time I use them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating a task list is not easy. It's simple to add a due date to any note or database. But it's just not possible to create a standalone list of tasks due for a specific date or topic from all of your notes and databases. Yes, you can see a list if you go to the main menu and select Updates > Inbox. But you cannot embed a customized version of this list on any of your pages. Frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's making it easier to find and reuse processes that I've created. The search function is very good. I spend less time looking for information that I know I have and more time creating with it.

Great note taking software, mostly correctly executed with some room for improvement

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to enter text and data into. Great shortcuts for various tasks. Great for inserting, embedding images and files. App lets me capture handwritten notes easily and bin into an inbox which I can then go back to my computer to re-organize. Table and database very customizable. Served as my notetaking and notebook entry for the most parts. Overall, I prefer it over OneNote and EverNote. Probably one of the best if not the best notetaking app out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to built in more general-user intuition rather than Notion-specific quirks. For example, if I move cursor before some text, then enter the shortcut for heading, instead of creating heading before the initial text, it creates heading after (?!#). Also, table and database entry table needs to be more Excel-like (sorry guys, 99% of us were used to Excel before Notion came along) - do not try to re-invent cell entry beyond Excel based on your own (programmer's) idiosyncratic habits. If I move to cell and start to type, overwrite the original text (that's what Excel does, if I want to append, I will click within it); selecting cells is much harder than Excel - again, don't try to re-invent table cell entry. Template creation is also not the most intuitive and took some time to get the hang of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customizable timeline display over just note taking.

The all in one simple database solution for life admining.

What do you like best about the product?
I've used notes on my iPhone alongside Notion for a few years now because Notes is just a bit simpler and quicker than getting into Notion. Recently, however, I had an issue with my Notes app where I couldn't sync it to another family member's account. Right then, I decided to bite the bullet and transfer everything over to Notion. I requested my data download from iCloud, and I'm waiting for the data to come through so I can put it on a Notion Subpage.

One simple sub-page is enough for ALL of my iPhone notes.

I once used Nontion as project management software to host an 80-person virtual retreat over the pandemic, which supplied our organization with a free multi-user pro account.

I use Notion to host a recipe blog.
I use Notion to write my substack blog.
I use Notion as a contact tracker to keep in touch with people in my spiritual community.
When I have information I want to share with people, I can organize it in Notion tables and show people graphically/visually what I want them to see.
I don't need to code anything to make all of this happen; I've stopped using my Elementor and WordPress because Notion, in combination with my Substack blog, is all I need to publish my content.
I even use Notion for E-commerce, whereby I put a list of ingredients and offer customers an opportunity to buy my recipes and then make slick little callout links for people to click on to purchase either the recipe or buy my teaching. The links go to a stripe site, and BAM I now have a Notion-based e-commerce site.
What do you dislike about the product?
Please make it so that I can share portions of tables/databases without the person I'm sharing the part of the database with able to see the entire database. This is the only thing that bothers me about Notion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have designed websites in wordpress with Elementor; I don't need to do that anymore. Notion, in combination with a Substack Blog, has eliminated my need to design a website for a recent business I've started. I every time I think about designing a new website for this business I ask myself, could Notion do that? And while not every solution has been perfect, it has worked and is much simpler than designing something for WordPress.

I fell in love with Notion

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is extremely flexible and provides the needed features to adjust your workspace to your needs within your individual workflows.
I tested plenty of other tools like Trello, Asana and other. But I always ended spending more time switching between tools than actually working on my tasks.

Notion helped me to organize my projects in an effective way. So I started to implement it with my clients as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are just few minor features missing. However, I see that the team is constantly working on fulfilling user needs and keeps on listening to their growing and engaged user community.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps to organize all the information that I am co fronted with during the day. Very useful are the Webbrowser extensions and integrations. These are helping me to import and categorize the information and link it within my projects.

From "what a convenient tool" to "this is indispensable for my job" in two months.

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is the perfect framework to build the precise tool you need, whatever your level of skill. And whatever you build now, you can improve and omptimise later on. I literally couldn't do my job if I didn't have the ability to reference any and every material I've created -- and it's all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion has its own learning curve -- nothing too scary. If anything, once you learn the basics you're more likely to overcomplicate things. So, remember: just becase you can do it doesn't mean you should!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a freelance teacher. I need to keep my books, create lesson plans, create homework materials (which should be reusable and thus referenceable), organise schedules, keep track of student information, etc. Notion allows me to focus on work, rather than juggling 5+ pieces of software.

Great tool

What do you like best about the product?
There's tons of flexibility in how you take notes...tasks in databases, make templates for one on one notes, link between topics, etc. Really enjoy how it helps me to think through topics.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a blank slate. There are preconfigured templates you can pick from to help get you started, but you need to have an idea about what you want to achieve as you go into it and how your topics fit together; otherwise, you don't take advantage of all it has to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to have one tool that let me take basic notes, but also use project/topic templates, and still bring all the information together centrally.

We are creating our Company Wiki (and all the notes) in Notion

  • February 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can put in order all my ideas in. Currently, we are creating a Wiki where we are documenting all the processes storing videos, and podcast links,...

We can work with any kind of document: images, Gantt, docs, tables,...
What do you dislike about the product?
The Referral program. I'd like Notion had a referral program like Airtable. I've recommended Notion to a lot of friends and colleagues with no rewards or very low rewards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's the first time that I feel I can put all my thoughts in order. I can kind of documents and I can connect between them. Until using Notion, I had a lot of spreadsheets and gdocs that I finally stopped working with.

Generally Amazing, with improvements to be made

  • February 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I can organise my thoughts and ideas in an organized and intuitive way. For work, it has been immensely helpful since I am generally messy. Also, for planning things and making graphs, the different integrations with a lot of apps makes it simple to create a centralised ecosystem, which I highly appreciate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lags, definitely. The response time is often longer than I would like it. Also, the fact that time (days, hours, minutes, seconds) hasn't yet been added as database value: it would help tremendously to create a time budget. Also the fact Google Agenda hasn't yet been integrated into Notion, and I'm not the first one to say this. Unless, of course, the Notion team makes the built-in Notion calendar on par with Google Agenda.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mind mapping, ideas think-tank, synchronizing work within a team. It's a ridiculously powerful app also for budgeting matters, as well as building frameworks, among other things.

Overall a great product, with exceptional flexibility. It's easy though to get yourself in trouble.

What do you like best about the product?
As a platform, Notion has a relatively easy new user experience and is extremely extensible, with many options for customization and opportunities to record, relate and display data.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the API was only rolled out in May 2021 there is a limited number of good, useful integrations that are available. The other major pain point for us is the lack of user roles, there are only two "Workspace Owner", and "Member." And while there are options available at the teamspace/page level for "guests" it would be extremely helpful to have more options available for those internal to the workspace.

(A more minor current annoyance is that the platform doesn't always allow a user to select a template after the content of an existing page is cleared.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is currently serving as our "one-stop shop" for almost all information in the business. It's our CRM, project management, team knowledgebase, SOP repository, and day-to-day task manager. Previous to utilizing Notion, we had many different systems that we were attempting to keep synchronized with all of this information and that was challenging. Now it's much easier to find needed information, stay on track, and provide better, more consistent support to our clients.

When it comes down to it, the question is what isn't Notion touching? :) Of course, the biggest challenge with it all being in one place is building/adapting the platform as we shift and grow. But even with that, short of custom-coding our own solution, Notion has been one of the best investments we've made for internal software.

The product you NEED to organize (literally) everything

  • February 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love how it uses databases to organize items. What this means (for you new users out there) that you can organize all of your notes (personal or business), your tasks (to dos, project tasks), and any other information in an easily accessible way!

I am currently using Notion as a second brain. Literally as a SECOND brain. It's my idea dump, my project manager, my to do list manager, my personal wiki. Everything that I think of or need to put on 'paper' gets put into Notion.

Honestly switching from Evernote was the best thing I could have done for my personal and business productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, Notion can SEEM overwhelming. And in my experience, I felt there were to many features to consider and quite honestly, I didn't really know where to start. But let me say... don't let this hold you back. Keep playing with it and you'll pick it up in less than a day.

If you need a starting point, just use it as a simple note taker! Then explore it's various features slowly over time. You really can't go wrong taking this approach — as you can always go back to implement any functionality that you need later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I would say that the biggest problem Notion has solved for me, is allow me to CONSOLIDATE all of my tasks and notes and ideas into one place. Before Notion, I had to use 5-6 different applications to organize these things. And the worst part was that these apps did NOT integrate or communicate with each other.

Notion allows you to link pages, so that you have one cohesive system. It makes my life so much easier.

... oh and I should mention that if you're a content creator / writer — they just introduced an AI writer to cut your creative process in half! And absolute game-changer.
