Beautiful UI, really good tools, however many of my colleague give me feedback it's too hard to use.

What do you like best about the product?
The Board view, drag & drop experience between the different views of the same database. Strongly customised experience for every industry. The ability to share as a public page so I can hosted it on my website.
What do you dislike about the product?
Timeline view is not good enough. I like the gantt chart in Clickup more. Also and ability to sync with Google Calendar is really important, I've used Zapier or Automate.io, both have a very serious problem that you can only *create* but you cannot edit the event created on Google Calendar, that is really annoying. Also recurring task is important for to-do list database, I know I can use automate.io to create recurring task, but that feature is quite important to have in-built I guess.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The share as public website feature provide a simple CMS for my non-technical staff to update some news / jobboard on our website. This is really good. Also it act as a performance management tool for us to record all meeting minutes.

Notion is the best tool

  • July 07, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is very easy to use, and extremely flexible so you can build your workspace in the way it works best for you. I use it in my personal and professional life. It's a game changer to organize, document and manage tasks/projects. The product is always improving based on Customer Feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the professional workspace we have a difficulty related to shared permissions of diferent views of a database. We found an workaround, so It's not really a problem, but I dislike the need to use the workaround in order to have the right permission set.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need to have all the information in only one platform. So instead of using a platform for documentation, another to manage task, another to build simple spreadsheets, we can have it all in one place.
And Notion has a lot of integrations that allow us to automize proccess, generate especific notifications and so much more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are excelent communities to learn tips about Notion. I learned a lot on reddit. And so many people love Notion that it's really easy to find templates and people to talk about it!

A competitive all-purpose beast that attacks all products at once

  • July 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been working with this program since the early days (2016). I was able to implement all my needs there, somewhere crookedly and somewhere very organically. Notion is a really powerful combine for different types of tasks, whether it is a personal system with diary, calendar, notes, etc. or a working system with boards, databases and tables.

The technical details and interaction experience are to everyone's taste. From my point of view it is almost perfect. The basic stuff is intuitive and well served. There are difficulties with the more technical and complex ones, but everything is done so that it doesn't feel that way.

The technical support and the work with the community is beyond praise. I have never had a question that I couldn't find the answer to. This friendly business to customer atmosphere is rare these days. Thank you very much in person for that.
What do you dislike about the product?
The simple things here are implemented a head above the competition. The deeper technical things require a lot of work. But you wouldn't expect anything else with such a large volume of everything at once.

I'll start right away with a personal pain: the formula. When it comes to really complex constructions, the visual formula editor just doesn't do its job. We've already seen how it should be in Excel (brackets, error reporting, etc.). Need to do just as well, and I know the guys can do better. Just a little time.

Databases aren't perfect either. I've done some very complex stuff there, but their initial architecture makes it annoying to use annoying methods to implement what I have in mind. A special hello for the undisguised "Title" column in the database :)

Overall, its functionality is a major disadvantage in terms of optimization. It takes a lot of effort and time to keep such a set in order.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Notion both for personal purposes (writing articles, teaching, bookmarking, storing information) and for business (product, customer and purchase databases, supply calendar, task board, scheduling, etc.). I had to compromise in some places, but if you don't pay attention, Notion handles everything just fine.

No time is wasted switching between different programs. Everything has one ecosystem. My favorite principle.

Even this review is written in its godlike visual text editor. I haven't seen a better one yet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My friend absolutely did not like Notion, but when I explained to him personally all the advantages, it became one of the main tools. So don't be lazy to spend more time with him (or any product, for that matter). In the future he will probably recoup these costs in full.

Notion is perfect to manage and share knowledge

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Use Notion to centralize all your knowledge and link it with all resources from different departments with databases. So when a feature is modified, it's easy to see where to update knowledge!
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately Notion is not the best to manage complex layout and integrations. Integrations only work for some specific actions in databases and that's all. If you want more, Notion is probably not for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Notion we were able to use a same tool to satisfy all departments with one unique and centraalized tool. It's flexible enough to satisfy evryone with their own usage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a few moment to learn how to use Notion by reading some blogs or watching videos. It will be valuable.

Best self management software I've ever used

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is the best software I found that allows me to insert every single important and not important information of my life. One of its most useful tools is the email notification.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complaints at all. Every problem I had I called the support and got help straight away. I just wanted the databases were simpler to put infos like they used to be, but no big deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had no control of my whole life in a single place before: one planner for college, one for personal stuff, notebooks for college classes, one to take quick notes... Nowadays I can simplify it on Notion.

Notion has been a lifesaver for me and my team.

What do you like best about the product?
Before we started using Notion, we worked as we were in High school. Contacting us through social media, sending emails with incomplete jobs. There were times when the projects had so many final versions that we got confused about what was the official "final version".

When we started using Notion, it was strange at first, because we didn't think that Notion was going to make a big change. But I was wrong about it. It has helped us in so many ways. In Notion, we have our workspace. From our team directory, our time-off request form to our Action log, which helps us know what tasks we are doing and if we have already completed them. Also, using table databases in everything is amazing! We don't have to stress about including and including data in databases because with the help of filters, tags and views, It's like we were making magic happen

I can say that I am the member who is most in love with Notion because I love Notion so much that now I am in charge of being able to make improvements in our workspace and that feels fantastic
What do you dislike about the product?
If I could improve something in Notion, that would be the possibility of customizing the tags and texts with more colors. I would love to be able to use the tags with our brand colors in our databases
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Planning my projects
2. Have my list of activities to do
3. That the whole team works in the same space
4. Notify in the same space any suggestion
5. Keep my KPIs up to date
6. Structure all the resources that each member needs to work on (such as pre-made answers, process guides, etc.)
7. Write down all the ideas that are shared in each meeting
8. Share the designs to post on Instagram, email and website
9. So much more!

To think outside the box

Great canvas for ideas

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is a great platform for brainstorming because it allows some simple input to change into different modalities (to do lists, schedules, etc.) super easily
What do you dislike about the product?
The flexibility can be its own enemy at times as things become a pretty tangled web. Higher level org features might help with that? Not sure. Happy as is though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're in the beginning stages of a project and it allows all of us to create our own individual processes and then link to one another when necessary. That flexibility keeps us from having to create some fanatical overhead process everyone has to follow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's great. There's not so much a learning curve, but more just how to use it the way it works for you. The flexibility is great, but without a plan you sometimes have enough rope to hang yourself with. It comes pretty naturally as long as you keep with it though :)

Also, just as a note, this form is pretty annoying. Just have all the questions available at first. Every time new questions come up I lose hope it will ever end and it feels a bit dishonest, to be honest.

It really is an "All-in-one workspace"

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
That I can use Notion for my university work, personal projects and for a marketing role. There are templates and functionality that allow me to organise my life easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more of an ability to play with the layout of pages. For instance, if I'm writing copy I would like to lay it out better for my design colleague as I don't have Adobe CC
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing me to see what stages various projects are in through the progression of In Progress to In Review to Published.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a young company like mine is it is a productive place to organise projects. There is a free trial version.

Review of Notion from a Marketer

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create multiple tags and dependencies as well as the different views and filters that can be configured.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not an engineer, and I feel like this tool was built for engineers. The way that our tasks are configured and the number of steps to duplicate a task, plus all the dependencies that are pulled over make it extremely complex. Many people on our team are scared to use Notion for fear that something they do will break our system. It is not a visually simple tool either, like Asana for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been helpful for me to be able to assign tickets to people and to collaborate with my engineers on the platform. We also use it as a document resource, so it is helpful to be able to go back and find company documentation.

Excellent for cross team collab

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Notion easily allows multiple people to work on the same page at the same time. So handy knowing where everyone is and what changes they've made!

My org uses it as our internal knowledge base so it's been super handy to be able to see the previous iterations of the pages and know where processes have changed.

It's also really handy for using as a kanban board, I put my to-do list in Notion and each week gets it's own column of tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search bar could use a lot of work! It never really seems to find what I'm looking for. We've taken to putting 'SEO keywords' at the top of every page in the hope that the search bar finds the page you're looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pre-Notion we found a lot of important processes and other bits ended up on Google Docs or saved in someone's Gdrive. When they left the business, it then became a monumental effort to find what we were looking for.
