Onshape is the Future of CAD and Collaborative Design
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use, things are laid out well. It's powerful yet very flexible due to being cloud-based. This does a variety of different projects very well. I love it
What do you dislike about the product?
I would really like more user customization for settings and different modes. There isn't much in terms of options. A dark mode would be nice as well as a more intuitive home page layout.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborative design is a big thing for me and my team. There isn't much in terms of competition in this area. If we couldn't simultaneously work on a design we would radically have to reduce operations.

What do you like best about the product?
Their versioning system is second to none, being able to go back through each every single change you've made to a part is a game changer.
Also getting out of the paradigm of individual part and assembly files is huge – it makes working with CAD much less of a chore. Onshape is the first CAD experience that doesn't feel like it's stuck in the 90s.
Also opening up the software to see you've got a free update with several incredibly strong quality of life improvements automatically applied and ready to go is incredible.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some features present in other systems that aren't present in Onshape. I would greatly appreciate a way to import your own standard fastener library for example.
Also, I've found that at times the code underpinning their standard features is not as robust as Solidworks. For example there are instances where I'm unable to create a loft or do a shell command that I succeeded in doing with Solidworks on identical geometry.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration across disciplins, tracking changes, working with non-engineering folks, and the being platform agnostic.
Cloud based CAD probably based in Heaven
What do you like best about the product?
The clean user interface, the intuitive user experience, the mate system. The system is growing every month new features new products within the cloud based system. Most of what you lose from switching something like solidworks to other cad programs doesnt happen when you switch to Onshape. It felt like moving over to a newer better CAD and I've been happy with the product ever since I moved. There's lots for me to learn from this programme but I am happy to move forward here.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of new features like rendering are still in development and its not as easy to navigate as the rest of onshape or the competitors but the fact you can render an image in seconds is very impressive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to share models with anyone anywhere is outstanding, the fact you export to almost any file type is incredible. The ability to make drawings extremely quickly is a huge plus. A simple but powerful tool

What do you like best about the product?
My background is SolidWorks and for me it was the most straightforward CAD program to use... before I met Onshape. You've created an incredibly intuitive software that can almost read my mind in certain aspects.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest there are no dislikes per se. Here and there are points to be enhanced, but I understand it's a work in progress and I'm grateful you are so open to suggestions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing documents and instant updates are two of the greatest features Onshape has. It becomes really easy to discuss parts and assemblies configurations through those tools internally and also with our customers.

What do you like best about the product?
Onshape provides the ability to access CAD from anywhere and do not require any crazy hardware requirements that the competition typically has. Love it all the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Updating the model tree sometime takes longer without showing the reasons. Why?

Featurescript can automate some design work that could be repetitive otherwise.

Onshape has increased collaboration among our team by giving everyone easy access to up-to-date files across devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Transitioning from Solidworks takes a bit of time but is mostly intuitive. Our team has the most difficulty with the mating system, but once you get it you get it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Access across devices and real-time collaboration.
Great platform, CAD tools of great use for a 3D printing hobbyist
What do you like best about the product?
The CAD tools and features are great for me as a graduate and now a 3D printing hobbyist. Its interface is simple and easy to use, especially beneficial if you're used to another CAD program. Being cloud-based and having the freedom to work from anywhere is also a huge bonus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot to dislike. Sometimes it's a little frustrating to find that a feature I'm used to on other CAD programs is missing, however, it's not a dealbreaker.
Bugs and glitches happen occasionally, but this could be down to internet slowdowns or spikes in RAM usage.

Using cloud storage has removed the need to have space on my devices for files.
The autosave works well and takes that worry away while I'm designing.
Being able to start a model on my laptop while I'm out and finish it on my PC at home without the hassle of file syncing and sharing has been helpful.

The only parametric CAD cloud design
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is the ability to work wherever you want and several designers simultaneously.
What do you dislike about the product?
The 2d drawings feature, although they are improving in each update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is working with several users on a design. Onshape has several simple and helpful communication tools

What do you like best about the product?
We love that it is a cloud-based software which allows us to access and work with our projects in any device without worrying on data loss. It has also a document control function, and a real-time collaboration feature integrated in the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Onshape tends to respond slower when working with large assemblies at certain times of the day. Additionally, the update version in the workspace would not function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us produce design concepts with a simplified process as it is easier to share projects with fellow designers, get feedback immediately, and revise designs.
