What do you like best about the product?
Centralized experience, ease of use, prompt customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. Smartling's continous improvement efforts are effective and efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a freelance translator, I have collaborated with Smartling for eight years. Convenient platform, ease of use, centralized experience, interesting projects, prompt assistance and payment.

What do you like best about the product?
Clear and easy to navigate interface. Very friendly, helpful and responsive team of project managers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really hard to think of any negative aspects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with Smartling as a translator. They provide me with regular inflow of projects and do care about the quality of final translation.

Great tool for translators and agencies

What do you like best about the product?
As a translator, I value the strong tools Smartling allows me to use for free. I've worked on huge projects (100k+) words without it crashing down or slowing down my PC, which is a huge plus that not many translation softwares offer. I love having everyting in one place (invitations to new jobs, glossaries, TMs, QAs...). I work with different clients, but the ones that give me the option to use Smartling are my favourites.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside for me was that there was a bug with it when used on iPad. I had a trip coming in and had a couple small jobs that I wanted to take care of on a train ride, but noticed that the spacebar had a bug when using it on the browser on my iPad. It's such a non-issue, but that'd be something to improve in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling is the unified translation platform for me, receiving/accepting jobs via email generates lots of communication waste and can be time-consuming, and Smartling solves that in a well-designed way. I feel translation management systems don't always go the extra mile for UX, so Smartling stands up as one of the best tools I've tried for translation jobs. I also value having integrated tools like TBs, TMs and QAs, which get rid of the need of any additional software.

Great new technology for translation work

What do you like best about the product?
I like Smartling's UI - all the important relevant information about the project can be understood at a glance. I also like that translators and project managers have access to it, minimizing a lot of the back and forth that goes when assigning translations projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since it's a cloud-based platform, the projects are uploaded in real-time. This also means that project managers sometimes have to continuously claim the same project until the entire project is claimed. This can be quite tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling cuts down on a lot of the tedious communication between project managers and translators sending projects back and forth.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling offers an intuitive translation interface that is quick to learn and easy to navigate. The keyboard shortcuts and clean design make efficient for MTPE and review/LQA tasks. Overall, Smartling provides a smooth workflow that helps projects move forward with efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform works well overall, it could benefit from a few minor enhancements. For example, adding more advanced filter options would make it easier to locate exactly the segments needed, and improving the accuracy of the “repetitions” filter would save time when batch-editing or reviewing repeated content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling saves me time by streamlining MTPE and QA in one platform, making my workflow faster, simpler, and more accurate.

Amazing Experience

What do you like best about the product?
I like that their team tends to be on top of everything, they do very useful follow-ups and the platform allows you to receive automatic reminders of the jobs to be completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
As we work with freelancers, sometimes the double step verification can be overwhelming since we cannot log in from their account, and the process becomes slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with linguists and the translation process becomes easier and faster since it centralizes translation and diffeerent localization workflows in one place. It keeps translation memories and glossaries consistent across projects and automates file handoff and delivery without complex messaging to the client. Besides, it
simplifies the collaboration across translators, and project managers.

Friendly PM and Useful Automated Process

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy working with the friendly and professional project managers. The automated process allows me to focus on linguistic tasks, rather than on time consuming email correspondence. The wide range of opportunities is also appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would appreciate having more flexibility regarding the amount of work I can take on. Sometimes, a large job with a tight deadline is assigned and I have to decline the entire job. It would be great if I could accept a portion of the job through the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The automated process of job assignments greatly reduces preliminary and peripheral tasks, such as answering emails or suggesting delivery times.

What do you like best about the product?
I use the tool every day. The work is well organized and distributed. The translator is totally free to accept/refuse work. The tool is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
We don't always get the answers (from stakeholders) to our queries in a timely manner. Some contents have no context. It would be very useful to be able to see the finished translation in a separate window for a better review. Also, it would be useful to reduce the number of false positives in the quality checks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As long as the tool is free, I am happy.

Good CAT tool, basic functions

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling is easy to use. The interface is clear. TM look up and translation history are also fine.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is specific to French, but there is no option for superscript (1st/1er for example). Also to connect segments when it is sometimes needed because the word order is different from one language to the next, the ability to connect segments sometimes would be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a translator and editor, so Smartling is not necessarily solving a problem for me. I am just using it at one of my client's request.
