Fast and reliable translations
What do you like best about the product?
Smartling offers an expansive list of languages, and has a very quick turnaround time, usually between 3-5 days. Even for larger translations, I can trust that Smartling will return our translations in an appropriate amount of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally have not had a negative experience using Smartling. There could be some improvements to the user interface, such as sharing job histories amongst oganizations, but that is very nitpicky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling offers Lyft a multilingual translation staff with reliable translation accuracy, and fast turnaround time. Our content teams would not be able to support the amount of updates we publish without Smartling's translation services.
Easy to use technology and fast translation services
What do you like best about the product?
The process of uploading files for translation is very easy and straightforward. The platform sends notifications when translations move to the next step which helps keep track of progress. The team are also very helpful and quick to respond to questions or issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
In our experience, there were a few instances where the translations needed some minor modification. We were translating our website and on occasions we noticed that the translations could be more natural. The team did respond to feedback well and we did see translation quality improving during the course of the project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a business we operate across multiple markets and therefore need the content we create to be translated quickly and efficiently. Whilst we have team members who can do the translations internally, we can't afford to spend time on this as it diverts resources away from our core businesss. Smartling helps us maximise efficiency by outsourcing the translation work to a 3rd party. We still retain control as we choose the internal review process workflow so our team can check for any errors related to the translation of words for our specific industry or product offering.
Smartling is easy to use and the API plugins work great.
What do you like best about the product?
The API plugins work great. With a press of a button, I'm able to request a translation without extra forms/details to the translation team. I can also check in on the status of the translation without contacting support right from the platform itself.
What do you dislike about the product?
For someone who is a user and not part of the localization team seeing a bunch of strings is confusing/too much information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes translating website content super easy. Sometimes the translation management tool SLAs are off so would love more consistency there.
Great online CAT Tool, for Web content, In-Design files, and more!
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartling daily to translate our company website into many different languages. It always works smoothly and the support team is amazing and answers quickly in case you need assistance. They always consider our needs and apply solutions to the CAT Tool and our profile. The CAT Tool itself is very intuitive but in any case, there is plenty of training material available on their website for any case scenario. They have recently applied AI, and we are about to test it with their help. We are sure we will achieve great results!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is slow and the connector with AEM does not work well. Another thing I don't like is that the interface changes depending on the role and it is difficult to impersonate other roles. However, they developed an impersonate option so we can show and train our users on their specific roles and help them solve issues on their side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is no need to copy and paste translation into our website. There is a connector between Smarlting and AEM, which makes the translation process fast and simple. Translations come back to our pages directly with the same format. Files are easy to find and you can update translations easily. It allows you to use the Smartling Translate tool, which is very handy to get quick translations. You can also impersonate other users for problem-solving or training purposes.
The same applies to in-design files. We can also apply DeepL or other machine translation engines directly in the workflow without going outside the CAT Tool.

Great communication and quick turn-arounds
What do you like best about the product?
The dedicated staff is the most helpful aspect of Smartling. They are very personable and always available when questions arise.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have many issues with Smartling.

Smartling is helping us further reach our desired target auidence by providing us new tools through translation services.
Efficient Translation with Easy File Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can easily upload an Excel and download an Excel, which I can use directly in my survey platform. This feature results in less manual work for me. The initial setup of Smartling was also very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are two setups for European and overseas languages in our case. I would prefer to just have it in one ad-hoc folder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Smartling solves translation needs for many languages and reduces manual work by letting me easily upload and download Excel files for survey integration.
Powerful and intuitive translation management platform
What do you like best about the product?
Real-time updates, full control, ease of use, instant quotes

Not able to authorise indivudual languages in a job
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The control over web translation process now lies almost completely outside of IT/web teams making the translation process smoother and time to market way quicker.
Excellent localization tool
What do you like best about the product?
Lot's of integrations with other tools we use such as Contentful and Figma. This helps to automate our processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can sometimes be hard to navigate.

Integrations to help us automate our processes, cost savings with reusable translations in the translation memory, machine translation.
Great platform with strong integration capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to offer both an interface for inhouse translations as well as strong API for a fully automated translation flow. Many competitors have translation abilities, but usually solve only 1 problem. We are able to use smartling for product descriptions, instructions, contracts, images and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features, such as GDN, are extremely costly in comparison to other solutions out there.

Our organization sells wholesale to over 90 countries around the worls and online to countries in Europe. We have been able to fully automate our product translation process keeping our brand voice.
Gets the job done
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is for my team to use and collaborate across with other teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the quantity of fields/elements to filter by can be a bit confusing or hard to narrow down.

I work between my company and our clients and use Smartling to pull translations into our products.
