A great product to handle all sorts of translation needs.
What do you like best about the product?
1. It has a vast knowledge source available to study from.
2. It provides almost all the features required for a UI level translation.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. As it is a very vast tool and has a lot of features therefore sometimes it requires a lot of training to understand about a particular feature of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing customers across the globe from different geographies; therefore, it requires a lot of customisations in the white papers or knowledge articles that we publish or pass on to our customers. Smartling is helping us bridge that gap between us and our customers.

The platform is very user-friendly and has a sound filtering system to find specific strings

Not always clear which step of the workflow you're in
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Due to its sound filtering system, we are able to find and resolve inconsistency of translation terminology throughout all our products and help articles
Smartling is quite simply an amazing company with timely and responsive support!
What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly; Timely & Responsive support; Cheerful disposition, etc.; Punctuality & good business etiquette (for online meetings, etc.); They also send cookies! :)
What do you dislike about the product?
There is almost nothing I dislike about Smartling, honestly! The beneficial & helpful aspects of Smartling make it so I really cannot think of anything I truly "dislike"!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily, Smartling provided the solution of how I would ever be able to get translations for ALL 14 languages we use on our site! It makes my job easier! Huge plus!

The customer support and training, and online help are excellent. Being able to tailor customer needs and solve problems for me promptly is the most appreciated. The best customer service!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to attend 2 or 3 days of training courses to learn Smartling systematically. I like to know more about the Contentful connector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing my translation projects, notifications, reviewer, translators, and memories. It saves me time and made my job easy. Speed up turnaround time and the translation process become transparent

What do you like best about the product?
Using Smartling is straight-forward, once you get the hang of it. I appreciate it allows spaces and characters in the submitted job titles. I like the 'jobs' section where I can see all my submitted and processing jobs in one place, rather than me trying to find them another way. Smartling's Associates are helpful and available when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Smartling's search function is lacking when I need to select my piece of content to be translated. I have found a workaround by editing that content and then choosing to search by 'last modified'. I also dislike that if there's an error with my translation once I submit it, Smartling doesn't provide any guidance as to what that error is so I can fix it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company content contains dynamic content to be shared in 8 different languages. Smartling allows us to have professional translations managed, in accordance with industry standard.
A powerful TMS platform with lots of useful connectors
What do you like best about the product?
The part I find most helpful is the wide range of connectors that Smartling offers, this make the process of localization much smoother.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some parts of the interface are not always intuitive, it's not always obvious where you would go to find certain settings of features.

It's benefitting us by being the single place where all translations are being processed; connecting our content to our translation service providers.

Nothing positive to say so far as the experience has been horrendous

- We are project managing Smartling Customer Success despite the fact of being their customer
- Following up multiple times to get an update / response regarding on going issues
- Obtaining new (but critical) information later on in the project, causing projects to delay
- Misinformation communicated, causing additional / unnecessary workload
- Additional cost charged without any heads up; no transparently
