Uniquely impressive service in a very valuable area of online content

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to track progress of a tranlsation job, easy to receive notifications for issues and to respond. Easy integration with a CLI makes for pleasing developer experience. Easy to collaborate on a large team submitting high volume of total translations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web interface can feel a llittle cluttered sometimes. It is slightly tedious to deal with small mistakes when working at a high volume of translations, not entirely clear whether I'm paying for a canceled job or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to collaborate on a large team submitting a high volume of total translations. We submit a high volume of translations and they are rarely, if ever, the bottleneck. The ability to keep an allowlist and translate asynchronously is also a perk when our team is in tight spots timing-wise.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about smartling you have a good overview of the different projects. You can maintain the glossary and provide additional information for translators. If there are problems with the translation, translators can contact you directly, which solves the problem quickly. Financially it is very helpful for our company that we only pay for the software when we use it: we have times in which we need a lot of translations and also times where we don't need them at all.
Additionally, you can always count on the team when you have questions or urgent topics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when technical things change in the smartling system or you want to change things yourself like workflows, it's not as intuitive as I would like to be so I need to contact support to double check. I guess it's because Smartling is a bit more complex than other providers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to contact freelancers ourselves, but with smartling we don't have to do the project management anymore - this saves us a huge amount of time. It is especially good for rare languages, because you can make sure that the translation will be delivered on time with good quality.

What do you like best about the product?
Complete automation of the translations and reviews of translations and bring translators and IT together.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing specifically. I don't see any major problems with using smartling and I recommend it for all businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting source string to translators and getting back the translations automatically from them seamlessly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an all in all product for your translation needs from end to end. Definitely recommend it for all businesses that require quicker translations with complete automation and less manual intervention and minimal human errors.

What do you like best about the product?
We have always been impressed by how easy the service translates our web pages into multiple languages. The team walked us through the process with ease and helped us communicate with our agency on how the overlay process worked when we upgraded our website.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have not experienced any downsides with the machine translation service. It is helpful knowing that if we wanted to have a specific body of words translated by a native speaker, that option is available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We sell our products around the world and we wanted to make our shipping experience as easy as possible even for those that do not use English as their business language. Smartling solved this issue for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We have greatly enjoyed our 10+ year partnership with Smartling. The program works as described.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, has your style guide and glossary at hand. On top of that, AI and MT/TM are smart.
What do you dislike about the product?
No, there is no weak points at this point.

Excellent and easy-to-use translation platform

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Smartling as a freelance translator, editor and MTPE editor for over three years and I'm absolutely satisfied with it. The task assignment process is quick and smooth, the platform is very user-friendly and the TM as well as all the other language resources are easy to access to always ensure consistency throughout a project. The system also allows you to preview your translation in context (where provided by the client) and to directly communicate with clients whenever clarification or more context is needed. Communication with PMs is also very straightforward, friendly and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
In rare cases, context is not provided and issues are not answered, which makes it difficult to translate individual strings, but this seems more a problem of clients not using all of the Smartling features, rather than a downside of the system itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I appreciate the time-saving features that are constantly being introduced, such as shortcuts. The new AI Foundation workflow that is being improved is very helpful and the quality of raw MT for MTPE projects is always excellent.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to work on a good platform without taking on the costs of expensive licences. Professional rates are respected, which shows they value people and their efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes deadlines are set automatically, which can be tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Licence costs, ability to work on any computer without any trouble.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Smartling is that it's available in a browser.

I can't really see any downsides to using Smartling.

Translation Memories and Glossaries are available from every machine.

Big gamechanger for our localisation processes

What do you like best about the product?
smartling is a great tool to work with, either from the translator's perspective or from our project management view. After putting some initial work inside (setting up all users, projects and automated workflows) you can just let the system and its users finish the translations until they are ready. We could reduce the manual actions massively and make the project management more comfortable. I also appreciate a lot the support we get from the team, not just when we implemented the tool but also for every day's questions, reviews or connecting new systems to smartling. The team is super friendly, quick and helpful. Seeing the new releases every few weeks is great, as smartling is continuously improving itself and implementing the customer's feedback as well. We're very happy with smartling and have improved translation speed and reduced costs already.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I'm missing at the moment is some kind of confirmation mail when a job/step is finished, so that I don't lose track of pushing it back to our systems. It would also be nice to have an overview of all users and the complete amount of words assigned to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's definitely solving the manual process that we have worked with before by automating a lot more steps. In that way, I manage to put more jobs during the day through smartling with less time and effort. Also pushing translations back has become much more easy and saves time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend to do a sandbox test period to see if the tool is meeting your requirements. We were very happy with that.
