Working with Smartling makes localization easier
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use, intuitive and the support is very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't use it on smaller devices. And sometimes the content display is not so good.

The Most Disappointing SaaS Experience
What do you like best about the product?
We used the GDN and their version of the WordPress WPML engine. The GDN served the pages in real time to our customers. The WordPress PlugIn gives you more control to let you decide what content you want localized or not.
What do you dislike about the product?
The company really doesn't know the meaning of customer success. We had to chase our CSM every time there was an issue. There was almost no support. It felt like we were in a bad marriage. We tried other competitors, and nothing worked with our instance of WordPress.
Also, when you use the GDN, your content sits on the Smartling server, and they basically "own it."

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes it much easier to track the content that needs to be localized on the website. It makes the entire process automated, allowing translators to localize in context. That means they can see if the text doesn't fit within the frame of a button. They also integrate with ZenDesk, which made it easier to localize the knowledge base.
Potential to disruptive technology product
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of upload is awe-inspiring. Also the downloading all content in one go is a unique feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing could have been fairer spaced. The pricing is entirely on the higher end for someone who is just starting in business.

Reduce the manual translation and development work. Instead, I used saved time developing some unique and advanced features for the website.
Its ok. During the sales pitch Smartling didn't fully understand our business or needs.

It seems like a great product, just need to ensure you select a solution that fits your needs best.

Not getting enough technical resources to support the implementation. Relied on a single developer.

Trying to make our site French compatible and expand our space in Quebec, Canada

What do you like best about the product?
I like the TM, and the search tool. I think they are very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first SL was not intuitive, but there have been some updates. I still think it's not the most intuitive tool, and there are some features I would improve. I would improve the search and modifying a great number of terms thought the search for example. and I would improve the TM, in a way that sometimes i make changes on translations, and then the same sentence appears again in another job, and the smart match doesn't remember all of the options.

It helps manage big and small translations jobs for the company, , especially when I have to QA translations made by other people.b

What do you dislike about the product?
The platform requires education prior to start using it, not the easiest to use without any background information. It's a complex dashboard. We had ton's of questions, sometimes the help centre online did not have answers to our questions. However, the customer support team was holding our hand the entire time to make sure we were comfortable with the platform and answered all of our questions!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team was looking to streamline the way they were doing translations. We have 3 main languages, English, French and German. Smartling allows us to view the process from start to finish (from uploading the requested document to reviewing and to final document) all in one dashboard.

The first thing and the most important thing is the trustful relationship we have built with our Smartling Project Manager and our Smartling Customer Success Manager thanks to daily communications, weekly syncs and bi-annual check-in.
What I appreciate most about Smartling is the inherent flexibility the platform provides. The SLS Team efficiently localizes all our content using automated workflows, making the process remarkably easy, swift, and cost-effective.

Smartling is evolving constantly, offering always new features, new connectors. So what I dislike about Smartling is nothing!
I don't have enough time to keep up with its continuous evolution, but I keep updated thanks to my Smartling Customer Success Manager.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
100% of our content at Rover is localized through Smartling. It's impressive because we are talking about almost every type of content: blog post, macros, CRM email marketing, help center articles, web/ios and android content. We just built a new project as well to transcreate youtube Rover videos. It's very exciting!

What do you like best about the product?
I like the 'Translation management system' of smartling. It is quite good and it is very easy to manage all translation projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing bad about smartling. But sometimes we feel like a lot to know more to use this tool which I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a lot of projects to store and manage. For that smartling is the best solution. We found smartling has many advantages and options to manage and also for analytics purpose.That's why I use this.

Sometimes the initial translations are a bit off but get better over time. It's a common problem among loc platforms.

Frankly, better than most CAT tools

The TM, Fuzzy system, and the User Interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing specific. Sometimes it takes time for the tool to submit the work and show the words count.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Matching is the best thing in Smartling. That's a problem I believe it helps me solve.
