Great tool for international marketers to localize website and content
What do you like best about the product?
Real time machine translation with human review available in a work flow manner, translation memory is also available so that we don't have to repeatedly translate the same word for consistency
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can be better and more user-friendly. the workflow setup can be easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tedious and long turnaround time translation process, being not understand the language to manage the translation work without a proper tool is a real headache.
With Smartling we are able to start the translation with machine translation, then a human review to ensure relevancy and readability, and it gets populated to our website real time, this has saved so much of our time, as well as better scalability to localize the whole website in 4 languages.

Made a super scary project easy, like a breeze
What do you like best about the product?
Smartling has an incredible depth of available solutions for UI translation. We had all sorts of weird constraints and had written off any out-of-the-box solution, before we spoke with the Smartling team. There isn't a software surface that they can't translate haha!
Additionally, I loved the whole process, from sales to onboarding and getting us up and running. The CS team is at the top of its game and helped us move along super fast

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular. Things can be a little bit more self-service, though!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to make our UI available in 8 different languages and had a deadline to do it end to end in 3 months. We plugged in Smartling and were able to do it in the allotted time and win multiple 5 figure contracts!
We didn't have to make many changes to our core frontend code. Smartling's solution sat outside of our frontend code and based on the extension (es.goldcast.io or jp.goldcast.io), translated everything on its end and sent back the translated strings which plugged in easily into our UI. We didn't have to do any heavylifting with responsiveness etc.

Excellent on-boarding and on-going customer care
What do you like best about the product?
Once you get it set up correctly, it requires almost no maintenance. Everything works seamlessly, and the system is designed to handle anything you throw at it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our use case for the GDN was relatively... complicated, so getting it up and running was a bit challenging, but Smartling was very supportive in getting us a resolution.

Our entire organization is now able to leverage shared translations, increasing turnaround time and decreasing cost.

How easy it is to search and find strings. All the information provided on the UI. Smartling 2.0 has definite improvements in their search options over 1.0
What do you dislike about the product?
The black toast that you have to click to confirm authorization. It's so small and disappears after a few seconds. If you don't click it, you have to do the whole process of authorization again.

I'm localizing my keys. It's easy to search.

Take a tutorial before you start using so you're familiar with all the things you can do.

It is so simple and easy to use. It has increased the efficiency of internal translations.

Sometimes giving context to the translators is a little complicated.

We are seamlessly integrating translation requests into our software.

A great tool for managing multilanguage products
What do you like best about the product?
Relatively easy to learn and use, with many different suggestions and alternatives for translations and an always-growing vocabulary glossary.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not the most user-friendly and can be a bit confusing. The publishing feature requires some special permissions that can make quick edits a hassle.

Translations for many different countries globally, providing their own words and slang even within the same language.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Even though it can be a bit challenging at first, once you learn how to use it can be a huge time-saver when it comes to translating lots of text to different languages.
Its a great CAT tool and source of truth builder. Productivity monster.

I enjoy the ability to house most of the communication in one place. The issue let you report direct string issues to the review or leads in a project at any given time.

its been really hard to track the word count correctly with tag and non tag format if nbsp is in it or other html tafs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Less jumping around while a job is in translation or review it is not resolving the QA side too much in artwork yet but hoping it will improve over time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would make sure it's a good fit for all the lines of business you will integrate; we noticed it only works on some of our ask, but for the others task, we reverted to doing the method we had before. I hope they improve the art and details options for each job, made it obtuse locate information for the review and translation team. It is ideal for small ask and projects with 1-20 strings.

The UI is easy to configure and use, and there's been low friction between getting us translations across different countries.

The price for translation is generally relatively high.

We're able to translate our entire mobile app experience to multiple languages with accuracy.
A Much Needed Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Smartling makes it easy to go quickly between multiple projects. It's easy to find what you're looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have sometimes been bugs with context images, but every time this happens I've received quick customer support.

I can easily track localization in multiple languages.
