We are using TP for Agile development

  • May 31, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Target process is easy to use with different views and reports.
It´s also easy to step between Epics down to task.
We are using TP for Product increment planing (PI) and it´s easy to move user stories from one sprint to another.
It's also a good tool to measure the team sprint velocity.
What do you dislike about the product?
It´s hard to get a good overview like the one we get when we are using post-it on a wall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are building a sell system and are doing PI-planning and sprint planning in TP

I've been working in an agile project for over a year using TP

What do you like best about the product?
It's an amazing tool, really designed to help team members to manage to do their tasks during an agile project.

You can create as many dashboards as you need, mixing the attributes you need to correlate. For example, you can have a dashboard to use in daily meetings, another to perform refinements, another to view sprints overview, etc...

Its report section is one of the best I've seen in a long time. You can build almost any report you imagine, using a lot of metrics tracked during the project.

Moreover, you can perform a lot of customisations: Information shown by each element in the kanban board, size of the elements, the colour can depend on a lot of attributes (priority, time in each status, etc...).
What do you dislike about the product?
If your internet connection is very slow, you'll have trouble using this application.

And there is an engine that automatically closes stories when all its tasks has been closed. This feature is great, but sometimes it doesn't work very well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordinate and manage an agile project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're not tied by a large suite of products (like atlassian or IBM) this tool is one of the best I know.

Before you think "no tool will fit my process" take a look at TargeProcess.

What do you like best about the product?
The features introduced in the latest incarnation are great for digitising offline processes. Although we were initially just using it for simple project management tasks, we've now branched out into other uses. The interface is extremely customisable, and behind the scenes a REST API allows for all kinds of extensions. The support team are great, and issues are few and far between,.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some staff find the learning curve a little steep if they aren't already familiar with the terms and concepts involved. We've been working to train people in-house to get around this, however some kind of "getting started" tutorial content (in addition to the extensive help already available) would be great. As far as the tool itself, it's so configurable and constantly improving it's hard to dislike anything for long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use TargetProcess for project management, test management, timesheets, helpdesk and some sales support. It's great to have everything in one place, as it makes transferring easy and avoids length write-ups. We also run a bespoke reporting app that makes use of the API, which automates many processes that were previously done manually in Excel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Work out how you're going to use it first, before attempting to roll anything out to your team. It will be more confusing in the long term to have people trying to use the system whilst big configuration changes are still going on, and it might ultimately harm adoption.

What do you like best about the product?
The creation of different boards. It's very clever.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, the "Customize Workflow" does not work as expected. It did not arrange well when I add a new column.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying customer requirements. I also realized that by using Target Process, my team now is now organized.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of the boards and the reports, and the integration with source control. It is easy to learn to use, and the availability and quality of the support is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the things that were easy to do in TP2 are more complicated in TP3, and I think the mobile app could use some work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to track the pipeline of working coming in the department, Managing sprints and releases, leveling work assignments and tracking releases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've used other project management/agile support software. Targetprocess is my favorite tool to-date. It is easy to implement and use and can be tailored to support various project management processes.

Software Consultancy Using Scrum

  • May 30, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to track any project hierarchy you may need.
The visual aspect of managing any portion of your process.
The ease of use for non-technical people, we have our clients using it as well as our team.
Unlimited Projects, Stories, etc.
Roll up functionality for Epics, Features, User Stories, Bugs.
Ability to define your process and what is allowed within it's flow.
User access control from project to project and role to role.
Powerful selection ability at the Project & Team level.
Amazing filtering features on just about any attribute available throughout the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Export capabilities without programming could be better.
Printing a project's worth of stories is difficult to do.
Lack of secure git repositories.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing multiple, simultaneous projects with one team using Scrum.
Simple exposure of our process, and sprint progress to our clients.
Limiting a client's access to only their projects.
Allowing our team to see all current projects.
Simplify daily operations by using visual representation of a sprint's progress through our custom designed Scrum process.
Ability to track burndown for all projects in a sprint or selected projects simply.
We are considerably more efficient using Target Process.
We explored more than a dozen different Scrum/Agile platforms in order to match our requirements and Target Process was the only platform that did. 18 months after deploying it we are still very, very happy with it. The TP team is constantly improving it, too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you manage any kind of a project hierarchy for multiple clients Target Process does that beautifully. It's a hard requirement to meet and they do it well. Target Process excels if you want your clients to use a simple , yet powerful system along with your team. I love the visual aspect of seeing just about any type of data in the various entities throughout the system. The fact I can create a view that allows me to focus or manipulate just about anything in the system is awesome. The filtering helps make the views even more powerful by allowing you to focus on exactly what you want.
