Excellent Collaboration Tool

  • August 08, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I most appreciate the versatility of Airtable. I can use it to collect and configure data from multiple projects in ways that are easy to share with others. I love the multiple levels of accessibility for various users.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few features that I would like to add, such as the ability to cap form submissions at a certain number, but overall I'm very happy with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable has helped us be able to store our data in a way that makes sense and is easy to manage. It allows us to bring in multiple people as needed, and to collaborate efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would encourage people considering Airtable to look at the example bases that Airtable and it's users have created. It's pretty easy to customize a base to fit your specific needs, and then eventually to create your own bases from scratch. There is also a wealth of information in the community forums, so this is a great place to go for tips.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Organise complex information quickly in a great UI for quick access, variable viewing and access anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to export views as reports (CSV usually works fine) or make blocks embedable to external sites
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Airtable for project management and a whole range of business apps in house without need for complex databases or spreadsheets.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Great way to build a database for a nonprofit

  • August 06, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is super easy to get up and running for a nonprofit because of all of the templates (donor management, grant management etc.). The templates help understand how to set up all of the tables and field types. I've used Knack HQ before but Airtable is a lot easier to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't run into any problem yet. I'd like to see a Gantt chart block but I'm guessing they'll add that at some point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our nonprofit needs to track donors, grant opportunities, awards to grantees, educational programs, and a bunch of events. We also do a fair amount of email marketing. The standard CRMs out there don't match up very well for our workflows but we can pick and choose which templates work for us in Airtable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Airtable is a great product when you need flexible workflows with a wide variety of use cases.

Airtable Review

  • August 06, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the things that I currently like best about Airtable is that you can work in real time with lots of different users. The platform allows me to see changes that have been made and track what been done by using the snapshot feature.
Another thing that I like about Airtable is the templates that are provided. The templates are really easy to customize which is the best part.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that I have found that I dislike about Airtable is that even with all tutorials and tips, it can be hard to learn how to use all the features of Airtable because there is just so much information given to you in a quick fashion. It took me longer than I thought it would understand some of the features. Also when I used the FAQ page I was unable to get the answer that I needed and had to just use trial by error to figure it out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem that my team is using Airtable to solve for is better track project progress of multiple projects types and with multiple projects leads. So far Airtable has allowed us to very easily see who is in charge of what project, their most recent updates and what they still have left to accomplish.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really give yourself time to learn the ins and outs of this program before you dive right into using it, otherwise, you risk getting frustrated with the program before you can actually get anything out of it.

    Events Services

Easy to use and implement!

  • August 06, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has great tutorials for things you can't figure out and is super easy to use. With a few clicks, you can have a functioning database
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all excel functions work, so it takes some manuevering to get complicated functions to work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We thought we were going to need to hire an outside developer to design a custom database, but Airtable solved our issue at a fraction of the cost!

    Education Management

Looks promising

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So far it is easy to use and shows promise in helping me organize a variety of projects
What do you dislike about the product?
Being asked to leave a review in order to secure an educational discount on the Pro version. I don't feelcomfortable recommending until I know more about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding a way to manage multiple projects individually, and perhaps with team members once I become more comfortable

Easy to use online database with great mobile integration

  • August 04, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I maintain a private not for profit library open mainly to researchers. I'm using Airtable for keeping track of the books we have and the ones we are looking for. I wanted to leave Filemaker for various reasons and quickly realized that Airtable was the solution I was looking for. Very easy to set up and use if you have even a little experience with spreadsheets and databases. Great integration with mobiles (iPad and iPhone) and also very easy to transfer records, or just some fields, back and forth to another app if necessary.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike in all cloud-based software is that there is no way to work offline. What do I do if my internet connection is down, or if I'm away somewhere with no connection? There are other shortcomings but I haven't used it enough to be sure it's not something that does exist but that I missed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can very easily see the status of a book, either at the office or in a bookstore or elsewhere. The main problem I've solved is being able to easily access the data on mobile or on another computer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're using a spreadsheet like Excel or Numbers as a sort of substitute for a real database because you're afraid it will be too hard and time-consuming to get the real thing you actually need, then Airtable may be the solution you're looking for. Looks like a spreadsheet (something you already know) and acts like a database (what you actually need). And it supports teams which may be something you need, but I can't say much about that because here, I'm the only user who needs full access. Others can access the data in a "read-only" mode, which is, in fact, what I want.

Airtable for scholarly collaboration

  • August 04, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Airtable’s flexibility to add multiple views for the same spreadsheet (dataset). My research partner and I track the conferences and publications we submit to and have views like “What’s due in 30 Days? 60?” by filtering by date due and status (not submitted).
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet, but am still learning how to use all the features!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We could not create multiple views like this with Excel which is all we had before.
