Looks promising
What do you like best about the product?
So far it is easy to use and shows promise in helping me organize a variety of projects
What do you dislike about the product?
Being asked to leave a review in order to secure an educational discount on the Pro version. I don't feelcomfortable recommending until I know more about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding a way to manage multiple projects individually, and perhaps with team members once I become more comfortable
Easy to use online database with great mobile integration
What do you like best about the product?
I maintain a private not for profit library open mainly to researchers. I'm using Airtable for keeping track of the books we have and the ones we are looking for. I wanted to leave Filemaker for various reasons and quickly realized that Airtable was the solution I was looking for. Very easy to set up and use if you have even a little experience with spreadsheets and databases. Great integration with mobiles (iPad and iPhone) and also very easy to transfer records, or just some fields, back and forth to another app if necessary.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike in all cloud-based software is that there is no way to work offline. What do I do if my internet connection is down, or if I'm away somewhere with no connection? There are other shortcomings but I haven't used it enough to be sure it's not something that does exist but that I missed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can very easily see the status of a book, either at the office or in a bookstore or elsewhere. The main problem I've solved is being able to easily access the data on mobile or on another computer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're using a spreadsheet like Excel or Numbers as a sort of substitute for a real database because you're afraid it will be too hard and time-consuming to get the real thing you actually need, then Airtable may be the solution you're looking for. Looks like a spreadsheet (something you already know) and acts like a database (what you actually need). And it supports teams which may be something you need, but I can't say much about that because here, I'm the only user who needs full access. Others can access the data in a "read-only" mode, which is, in fact, what I want.
Airtable for scholarly collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I love Airtable’s flexibility to add multiple views for the same spreadsheet (dataset). My research partner and I track the conferences and publications we submit to and have views like “What’s due in 30 Days? 60?” by filtering by date due and status (not submitted).
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet, but am still learning how to use all the features!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We could not create multiple views like this with Excel which is all we had before.
Databases made simple and intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable allows me to make databases without having to pretend to be a rocket scientist. The interface is simple and intuitive, yet personalization is possible. It allows me to create more than one database and have an overview of all the ones I have made. On top of that, they synch across all my devices and allow me to collaborate with colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike because it does everything I want from a database. The app never crashes, changes get saved automatically and the only hiccup is the difficulty in copying and pasting rows of information from Excel for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable allows me to keep track of donors. The biggest draw is how several databases can be linked, so the options are limitless. My whole team can easily access all the donor information and make updates so we always know who our biggest donors are. It has allowed us to target donors individually.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't hesitate, just get it!
Using Airtable to track community partner relationships, activities, communications
What do you like best about the product?
My team spent over a month researching our options for an affordable database solution for our college to track relationships, activities, and communications between our community partners and student/faculty courses and projects. We selected Airtable because we can easily customize the database to do exactly what we want, rather than other pre-packaged CRM tools that did not fit our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable has met our long list of needs, but we're still figuring out a few items. For example, we know how to create pivot tables using the blocks feature inside the Pro version, but we have not yet learned how to cleanly export the pivot table results (other than copy and paste). Maybe it's possible, but this is one area where we could not find an answer in the otherwise rich documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable provided a flexible, collaborative relational database framework that is relatively easy to set up and train others to use, as long as you have a clear idea of what you wish to accomplish.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
First, list your organizational and data needs. Second, try out different tools and compare how well they fit your needs.
Airtable - stellar software, so many uses
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to easily publish bases and collaborate at the field level. I no longer need a variety of other tools when Airtable has such a broad offering to help me run successful projects from start to finish. The Snapshot feature is really easy and gives peace of mind that your data is backed up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Manual copy/paste functionality is a bit slow and sometimes does not trigger on the first attempt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Curriculum mapping and inventory tracking of assessments. Airtable makes it easy to collaborate with multiple ways to share complex data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Why maintain Slack, Basecamp, and others when you can get all of your work done in Airtable? Airtable makes it so easy to collaborate and is a phenomenal time saver.
Excellent Usability
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, intuitive interface, design. Easy to be an admin, great integrations and API.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just a little slow to respond when applying for non profit status.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating a vital but easy to use database, possibly project management.
Simple mobile spreadsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Lightweight, mobile integration, versatile uses, multiple view types
What do you dislike about the product?
Mobile app has limited functionality, could use more support in programming functions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Airtable to track project progress, to support our product reference library, track to-dos, and as a sign-up sheet solution at events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Airtableis great for simple straight forward needs. It will not support complex database manipulation needs, but is a great simple and light weight way of sharing information.
Excellent Tool for Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is a super flexible and robust space where my colleagues and I can collate and retrieve info quickly and clearly. It super for sharing out and gives everyone access to the up to the minute info which is crucial for our department.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to get help on the phone for customer service and the proprietary vocab airtable uses to describe basic spreadsheet components get very confusing when using the web-based help tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable helps us get info out of individual emails and into a space where everyone can see it and use it. It is streamlining our communications internally and externally.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is great tool for teams.
Very useful for any org if you have the budget
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use, and combines functionalities of a relational database with the easy-to-use nature of Google sheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, the pricing model is not flexible for client facing use. Additionally, your data is somewhat stuck in airtable as the CSV export option is very limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for a nonprofit that is always gathering and analyzing data. Anything that used to be done with Google Sheets or Access can be done with airtable.
