SmartSheet drives project performance
What do you like best about the product?
SmartSheet offers the flexibility to create custom sheets and workflows, making it super easy to automate processes and improve project data capture. Plus, you can share Smartsheet with anyone, letting them interact and add value to our project portfolio.
What do you dislike about the product?
We could definitely use some improvements in the planning area. Right now, the Gantt charts are pretty basic and missing some advanced features. It would be awesome to have things like hammock tasks, automatic resource leveling, and the ability to assign multiple resources with different allocations to a single task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With SmartSheet, we're now able to connect all our project data seamlessly. This allows us to manage our portfolio of changes with up-to-date information, without the need for any manual adjustments. Our stakeholders have access to the same information as the project team, creating a smooth and consistent communication channel for project delivery.

Its versatility. The tool makes information easy to find and accessible, with a wide range of options and settings that allow it to adapt easily to specific needs

Smartsheet helps us store and organize data, track historical records, manage tasks, and monitor deadlines effectively. It centralizes all project information, making collaboration easier and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

Smartsheet has an intuitive, spreadsheet-like interface that makes it easy for new users to get started without a steep learning curve. The drag-and-drop functionality and customizable templates are especially helpful for quickly building out project plans.

Implementation was straightforward. The platform offers plenty of onboarding resources, and the support team was responsive during setup. We were able to roll it out across departments with minimal disruption.

Huge improvement over Excel for all of our management needs.
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet for all of my finance, budgeting, utilization and employee tracking needs. It has replaced excel for all of these tasks and does a phenomenal job at it. I have rolled it out to my management team and they have gotten tremendous value from using it. They have much better insight on every aspect of their teams' management. It has been instrumental in visibility at all levels of the organization. It is used every day for a variety of tasks. Dashboards are very easy to setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only complaint I can think of is when you get limited to the number of links that can be used in a sheet. This is a rare occurrence and can be dealt with using a simple workaround.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Financial and budget projections. Employee utilization and allocation. KPI management. Executive reporting. Margin calculations. All of these functions were previously handled in excel and were a nightmare to manage across sheets. Moving all of these items to Smartsheet streamlined the management of all of these functions and we no longer have to worry about excel breaking every time something changed.

What do you like best about the product?
Like the ease of using Smartsheet, able to add additional editors and contributors, and able to set updates when a due date is approaching
What do you dislike about the product?
DO NOT like the updated feature on moving sheets into albums. I had multiple albums set up and I could move new sheets into those albums, but you have changed that feature and no longer allow that. It makes for a very messy and cluttered main page. I wish you would bring that feature back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to keep track of all employees shared sheets in one location, but don't like that you can no longer move them into a folder

Indent function is not user freindly sometiems it takes to much rows or it needs some additional effort to select

What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet on a daily basis for different purposes like project management, initiatives tracking and data collection. I really like the work flow / automation capabilities that reduce dramatically the manual effort. I integrated it as data source for PowerBI reports, even if it has already the capability to create dashboards with basic visuals. It could seems a bit difficult to use at the beginning but in reality it is very simple to adopt / implement on the daily activities. For this reason I really appreciated the learning center that I suggest for all new users that wants to have a easy start with the tool.
I never had the opportunity to test the customer support, but also this can be evaluated a good point for Smartsheet.

What do you dislike about the product?
One of the limit I faced using Smartsheet is the amount of cells link you can have for a sheet. Also, sometimes it requires some minutes to see the updated values while you are working together with your team in the same file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me on project portfolio management having one dedicated place where all the regional teams can work. The work flow helps me on sending out reminders, highlighting the past due actions and keeping all the activities clean.

Easy to add detail but can be hard to follow for clients
What do you like best about the product?
There are many options to add different work tracks and deliverables that are easily identifiable within the sheet.For example, using different colours for different stakeholders, showing progress, and highlighting statuses of progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that content update is very manual, it takes me more time than previously working in gantt. I also find that there is a lot of information, which is difficult for my clients to absorb.

Collaborating with stakeholders to create clear timelines for projects, one space to hold different timelines for project workstreams.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Calendar setting different from MS Project, e.g. when a project is transferred from MS Project to Smartsheet, there is often timeline discrepancies caused by different calculation of the two software.
- Formula is not supported in conditional formatting
- Difficult for two projects with different project setting to communicate, e.g. when two projects with different work day settings, crosslinking the timeline from one project to the other will cause incorrected timeline.

It makes portfolio management more efficient, the report function enables data consolidation from multiple projects, the automated workflow helps streamline the business process, dashboards and Gantt views assist leadership and governance boards make informed decisions quickly.
