Very useful for a large network of users to collaborate
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use. Powerful enough for its purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had more features allowing macros and more formulas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have multiple, near a hundred, people edit a living document.
A User-Friendly Tool for Project Tracking, But With Room to Grow
What do you like best about the product?
I really value how easy it is to organize and monitor project milestones using customizable views like timelines and kanban boards. Smartsheet makes collaboration smooth with features like real-time updates, task assignments, and in-platform commenting, which keeps teams aligned and workflows clear. The ability to create visual dashboards also helps track progress without much manual setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, Smartsheet can be slow to load when managing larger or more complex projects. Integrations with other tools require additional setup and aren’t always as seamless as expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps solve the challenge of managing multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines in a clear and organized way. It reduces time spent tracking project progress manually by centralizing updates, timelines, and task assignments in one place. For me, it improves team coordination, keeps key milestones visible, and makes it easier to spot delays or bottlenecks before they become issues—ultimately saving time and improving project delivery.
Smart Sheets
What do you like best about the product?
Smart Sheets creates charts and graphs that link to other sheets which makes things more organized because everything is in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot have more than one tab for each sheet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is keeping all the information in one place
Great for Established Companies
What do you like best about the product?
It makes Excel much more user-friendly. For those who aren’t Excel experts, it’s easier to understand and use. Once set up, the dashboards and graphics are great for presentations and are especially helpful for visual learners. It was easy for our staff to get on board and see the value.
What do you dislike about the product?
One limitation of Smartsheet is that it could benefit from more templates and greater flexibility within some of the sheets. This would make it easier to customize and adapt to a variety of companies. Smartsheet seems better suited for larger, more established companies that require frequent collaboration. For smaller companies like ours, where collaboration is minimal, there’s often a need for more detailed, tailored solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Develop a version or mode tailored for individual users or small teams where collaboration is minimal but data management and reporting are key.
This could include offline access, simplified sharing options, and more control over granular data.

Keeps things organized and people connected
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use and workflows you can build in. We use Smartsheet for assigning and tracking projects within our team. Team members are notified when they are assigned to a project, when a project is approaching a due date, when someone makes changes to a project, etc. It has made our team feel more productive and connected since implementing it as a standard process.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've been using Smartsheet for over a year and I have no complaints. Each use case we've thought of has worked seamlessly within Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to track our workload much more accurately. By creating sheets and connecting those to dashboards, we are able to see real-time data of how many projects we have at one time, where those projects are coming from, and where we need to allocate additional resources. Since implementing Smartsheet, management has been able to see how much work the marketing team gets done and we've grown from a team of 6 to a team of 10.
Great spreadsheet, not database
What do you like best about the product?
I've appreciated Smartsheet as a collaborative spreadsheet tool across my team - it's been especially helpful to have multiple collaborators, lockable views, and notifications/automations built in for creating & managing tracking tools such as invoice trackers. I especially use the automated notifications feature to send reminders to update tools or notify teammates when an action has been taken. It's a pretty intuitive platform to use, and it's decently flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet doesn't fit my needs as a relational database - it would be so great to be able to update a record in one sheet and have it seamlessly merge with a related record in another, but without this functionality I can't use it as a CRM in the way I'd like. For example, I'd like to be able to have related & integrated fields for individual and organizational records, where after listing an organization name in an individual contact field, a separate organizational record would update the contact name in a contact field. It's easier to get the sheets to speak to each other on Smartsheet than Excel, but it's not wraparound integrated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking invoices and project management - it's useful to see what my teammates are completing and when deadlines have been met.
Powerful product!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows my team to streamline processes while automating steps leading to better communication and more efficient execution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Building analytical tools in a dashboard for visual purposes is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Large amounts of data input from various sources, automation in completion of steps by stakeholders, transparent communications across our teams
A Flexible Alternative to Excel for Project & Milestone Management
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Smartsheet streamlines project tracking through customizable templates, easy-to-use task dependencies, and real-time collaboration features. Unlike Excel, it allows for intuitive Gantt charts, automatic reminders, and seamless updates across team members without managing complex formulas. It’s also helpful that data visualization and reporting are built in, saving time on manual dashboard creation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet occasionally struggles with larger datasets, where filtering or loading multiple views becomes sluggish. Some customization options—such as conditional formatting or advanced calculations—aren’t as robust as Excel, requiring workarounds. Additionally, integrations with other work tools can be limited or require additional fees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me manage project milestones, contact lists, and tracking of key deliverables.
Business collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has long been a tool of choice for collaboration projects and gathering information from different sources. It allows for the creation of forms to gather information and then reporting dashboards to present the information as you would like. It is easy to develop a short term solution and implement it quickly
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet was ahead of it's time but is now starting to show it's age. With Microsoft finally catching up with integrated tools, it is making it harder to justify the use of SmartSheet. A good example these days is the form builder - it is very rigid and does not allow for flexibility based on branding or input. A form is a form, but with better solutions out there, how we gather and use that information is important
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a number of projects that are all running simulatenously. Being able to automate even small parts of each project allows me to focus on other aspects that demand my attention. Smartsheet is a tool that can at least complete simple, automated communication (for example emailing out on specific dates) that ensures my projects are on track and progressing as expected. It also allows for collaboration with colleagues and ensures all my important information is in one spot.
Great Experience
What do you like best about the product?
All the organization and automation tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's hard to understand or use other useful tools without having to look up tutorials or LinkedIn Learning classes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us gather important information about Ensign College students' intenrships.
