An Accessible Learning Curve That Will Cover 90% of Use Cases
What do you like best about the product?
As a daily user, I think that SmartSheet excels in its user accessibility. Formulas have quick-reference tutorials with each function that explain its use, what each argument consists of, and most importantly which part of the formula you are specifically editing. Cell references are logically named by column, and working with conditional formatting is a breeze. The ability to attach forms and automations to a sheet is extremely valuable, and also very easy to implement. Smartsheet also has excellent change management tracking with its activity log, and each row having its own attachments and columns set aside helps with organization and clarity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Where SmartSheet can improve is in its more advanced use cases and quality-of-life options. For example, the formula bar in excel is not available, but is essential for writing more advanced nested formulas. Removing steps or conditions in your automation trees will also remove everything underneath it, which make it difficult to revise if conditions change during a sheet's development. There are often times where I'm searching for simpler solutions, only to be met with "That's a great idea, please suggest it in our forums below" answers from years ago.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet is our go-to solution when working with forms and distributing workflows. The ability to easily delegate the hundreds of weekly tasks from our intake form promotes a smooth workflow, and the ease in setting up automation makes it effortless to test and confirm that the process can scale smoothly.
Smartsheet Review: Centralized, Collaborative, and Customizable
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has proven to be a valuable asset in streamlining and organizing our software renewal process. With its flexible spreadsheet-style interface combined with powerful project management features, Smartsheet allows for end-to-end visibility, collaboration, and control over renewal timelines and vendor relationships.
Key Benefits:
Centralized Dashboard:
Smartsheet enables us to track all software contracts, renewal dates, license counts, and costs in one place. The customizable dashboards provide at-a-glance insights, reducing the risk of missed renewals or late fees.
Automated Alerts & Reminders:
One of its standout features is the ability to set automated alerts and reminders ahead of renewal deadlines. This ensures proactive engagement with vendors and gives the team ample time to negotiate, review usage, and assess needs.
Collaboration & Approvals:
Smartsheet’s sharing and comment functionality makes it easy for stakeholders across IT, procurement, and finance to collaborate on contract reviews and approval workflows without endless email chains.
Audit Trails & Version Control:
Every action taken in a sheet is logged, which helps maintain a clear audit trail for compliance and accountability. The ability to attach files and link to past versions of contracts adds an extra layer of transparency.
Scalable & Configurable:
Whether managing five tools or fifty, Smartsheet scales easily. We’ve configured it to categorize renewals by priority, department, vendor, and cost, making it easier to forecast budgets and manage workload.
Smartsheet has significantly improved the efficiency, accuracy, and predictability of our software renewal process. Its blend of automation, visibility, and collaboration tools makes it an excellent choice for organizations looking to bring structure and strategy to contract lifecycle management

What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is great for collaboration and project tracking, I find it limiting that we can't create sheets with the same flexibility as Excel. Specifically, the lack of cell-specific comments makes it harder to document detailed notes tied to particular data points. Adding more Excel-like features—such as cell-level commenting and greater formatting control—would make Smartsheet even more useful for processes like software renewals where detailed tracking is essential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None as of now.
Subpar/ Good Baseline Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Alot of information stored for scheduling; extremely hard to read when there is alot of info
What do you dislike about the product?
Excess email notifications; doesn't sync with Outlook calendars
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A single place to go to see all projects and scheduling needs
A solution for any business need
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Smartsheet is homogenous enough in its parts to be usable for almost anything I could need. The tools are customizable for any department, business size, or cohort. You are only limited by your process engineering ability and whatever data you may be ingesting (garbage in/garbage out) from outside the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
To make it really powerful you need to be excellent at mapping complex process flows. It doesn't create/provide any mapping of your build which would be fantastic. You have layers of connections with formulas, data mesh/data shuttle, automations, and cell links that are hard to figure out if you're not the original solution builder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every problem I encounter is solved by a Smartsheet build. This includes PMO/EPMO builds, purchase order tracking, parts/manufacturing processing, construction management, IT tickets, etc. I build a custom solution, from scratch, for every one of these in Smartsheet. They are interlinked if they're in the same company into a powerful data ecosystem.
Simple to Use for many purposes
What do you like best about the product?
I love the filters, both in a team and individual, they really help me to par down what I really need to be looking at.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish smartsheet had tabs like an excel file would. That would help combine similar projects that have the same sheet layout, but different inputs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping with large projects that require multiple people to contribute, as well as projecting time requirements and comparing those to actual time. We also use it for tracking individual tasks that are smaller and take less time, but we get many of. Using the form input feature, users can submit requests and we have one sheet where we track and work on the tasks.
EXCELLENT
What do you like best about the product?
THAT CAN BE SHARED WITH MANY PEOPLE
What do you dislike about the product?
NOTHING ALL GOOD, IT HELPS US A LOT IN THE WORK AREA

What do you like best about the product?
the ease of diverse project planning, management and tracking while keeping the ability to visually show curated data on dashboards or reports
What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
many people can collaborate on same sheets, gives curated views I can export, different sharing permissions allowing various access levels, tracking of versions and changes, automated input of data with forms
Smartsheet Review: A Must-Have for Any Nonprofit
What do you like best about the product?
As someone who works in the nonprofit world, staying organized and keeping track of outreach is essential - and Smartsheet has been a total game changer. What I love most is its ease of use. You don’t need to be super tech-savvy to dive in and start building sheets that work for you.
I use it primarily as a tracker to manage my professional outreach, and it’s been incredibly helpful to have all my data stored in one place. Whether I’m following up with community partners, organizing events, or reporting progress, Smartsheet makes it simple to keep everything streamlined and accessible.
For nonprofits juggling multiple projects and stakeholders, Smartsheet is a must. It keeps you efficient, accountable, and ready to show impact at a moment’s notice.

For nonprofits juggling multiple projects and stakeholders, Smartsheet is a must. It keeps you efficient, accountable, and ready to show impact at a moment’s notice.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it’s easy to get started with basic sheets, more advanced features (like automation, dashboards, and formulas) can take time to learn if you’re not already familiar with Excel-style logic or database tools. Also, while it’s great for tracking outreach and data, it’s not a full-fledged CRM. So if your organization is looking for deeper relationship management or donor pipeline features, you may still need to pair Smartsheet with another platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has helped me solve several key business challenges in the nonprofit space. It allows me to easily track professional outreach, ensuring I never miss a follow-up or lose sight of a potential partnership. By centralizing data, it replaces scattered spreadsheets and sticky notes with one reliable hub for managing contacts, event planning, and sponsorship tracking.
It also improves accountability and transparency among team members and volunteers by making timelines, responsibilities, and progress visible to everyone. Smartsheet simplifies project management for everything from fundraisers to awareness campaigns and streamlines reporting, making it easy to gather the data I need for updates or board meetings. One of the biggest time-savers has been the ability to create repeatable systems—once I’ve built a sheet for an initiative, I can simply duplicate and adjust it, keeping everything consistent and efficient.

Bumpy at first but getting better
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has so many amazing features. It can do almost anything you want it to do. Workflows, approvals, automation, tracking, formatting, project management, document management, resource management, syncing with other applications like sharepoint and salesforce. Smartsheet can do it all! There are tons of out of the box templates that make it easy to use. And customer support has been responsive to feedback. The previous licensing structure was a nightmare but smartsheet took that feedback and made some amazing improvements. They paused billing on the licensing to fix customer grievances and came up with a much better solution. The smartsheet knowledge base is also an incredible resource for training and implementation. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is that because it is so customizable, you really need to have a smartsheet technical guru on staff. And if you want something different than the out of the box templates, you need to hire a 3rd party partner to configure it for you. Our initial onboarding period was pretty bumpy but we've since gotten a new account manager who is awesome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had too many separate applications and people were spreading themselves thin jumping back and forth into systems that didn't talk to eachother. We had no visibility into tasks or project timelines and could not effectively manage our projects and deadlines. We needed metrics and dashboards for projects and portfolios and smartsheet can provide all that and more.
Decent but not comprehensive
What do you like best about the product?
I use smartsheet mainly for 2 things - create & miantain forms, request queue management.
>> Creating forms is easy and looks way better than google forms. Helps to track & delegate requests in a simplified manner.
>> Workflows are pretty handy in triggering email notifications for things like weekly reports, request updates etc.
>> Formatting options are good in sheets. Filters can be shared, excellent feature

What do you dislike about the product?
There are many limitations and would be great if product is evolved.
>> Validations are missing in forms like I don't want user to select a date in past
>> There is no option to hide details in form so that same form link can be maintained and information can be exposed based on situation and scenario.
>> Forms can be more advanced like field can fetch values from excel loaded into smart sheet etc. right now it is all static info
