Difficult to use
What do you like best about the product?
The "bells and whistles" are great! Being able to modify fields and fit the exact data type you need is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lag when updating fields. You can't fly through inputs like you can in Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The email reminder feature is very helpful.

Smartsheets for teams
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is very similar to Excel, but far superior when sharing in a team setting. Being able to create a document and have my teammate edit/review it, while in the document, is very helpful. I also appreciate the ability to create folders and subfolders helps keep separate projects organized. My favorite feature is the conditional formatting so that I can assign a deadline and see how the project is progressing on the timeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
My company has a corporate account. It was difficult to merge my personal account with the corporate account. It took many calls with customer service to get things sorted out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet's conditional formatting allows me to visually track a project timeline. I need visualization, such as colors, to help sort out the areas that need immediate attention.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the ease of working in a collaborative environment and all the features the app provides. The forms, approval flows and automations allow me to create endless solutions for daily tasks. Its user-friendly interface makes it very easy to integrate new people.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have some problems and I don't see any clarity in the solutions, it's very difficult to find something in the documentation or in the Smartsheet forums, and I have to find a solution on my own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solved a gap we had in headcount management and approvals. We were able to simplify and automate the process in an incredible way. The tools available were a big differentiator.

Slow performance, particularly when working with large or complex sheets.

Helps teams streamline workflows, improve visibility, and boost productivity across various departments
Flexible, integrated workspaces
What do you like best about the product?
We really like Smartsheet's ability to automatically send requests for status updates. We also love how easy it is to create and manage forms and create dashboards. I personally appreciate all of the various integrations available in Smartsheet, especially the Microsoft Teams integration. We like that we can make dashboards publicly available to non-users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Account Owners had more visibility into the various workspaces and assets within the account. I do not like that some integrations cost additional money to actually get connected and configured. I wish that sheets would autosave. I wish the Homepage had a more modern/appealing user interface.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows us to create standard forms that get sent to a predetermined list of users when triggered by an event that we configure, and can easily track the status of actions and tasks. We are able to visualize data in a way that we weren't able to in Excel.
Efficiency Gold Mine
What do you like best about the product?
The automations, visuals, and easy of use makes bringing Efficiency a practical idea for every team member. All of our team members have been willing to learn and are interested in having this be a staple in our production everyday.

No automatic Save... Please it would be so helpful

Our team can organize a funtional flow, communicate and set tasks for each other to better collaborate and function.
Collaboration to the Max
What do you like best about the product?
I really like using Smartsheet, especially compared to platforms like Excel. It’s much more interactive, which makes it a great tool for project teams. The collaboration features are solid, and it feels more dynamic than traditional spreadsheets.
One of my favorite features is the automation. I can set up workflows and triggers to make certain things happen automatically, which saves time and helps keep everything on track. The automation tools are more advanced than what Excel offers, and they’ve been a huge help in managing projects efficiently.

What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside is adoption. Smartsheet isn’t as widely used as other platforms, so it can be hard to get people on board if they’re not already familiar with it. That’s not really the platform’s fault, but it does make it harder to roll out across a team.
Also, linking sheets together can be a bit tricky. It’s easy for someone to accidentally break a connection if they don’t fully understand how it works, which can cause confusion or errors in the data.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving a few key problems for me, especially when it comes to team collaboration and project visibility. One of the biggest challenges in managing projects is keeping everyone on the same page without overwhelming them with emails or scattered spreadsheets. Smartsheet addresses that by giving teams a centralized, interactive workspace where multiple people can contribute, update, and track progress in real time without stepping on each other’s toes.

What do you like best about the product?
Great for Scrum work and tracking sprint work, assigning to multiple users etc

Not very intuitive for end users, a lot of confusing admin settings and not a create SSO path from Okta to Smartsheet with user groups and permissions
We don't love how Smartsheet doesn't feel intuitive for end users when updating dashboards and saving information. We find that we edit things and it doesn't auto save and causes confusion for people who are living in the same Smartsheet. We might need more internal information on how to really utilize smartsheet

Scheduling lacks some capabilities that other SW offer which makes it hard to fully utilize.
