Using Smartsheet for Continuous Operation Monitoring & Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
1. Really easy to get started, but also vast amount of resources to support you becoming more and more efficient with various Smartsheet functions.
2. The automated workflow helps track project progress and reduce repetitive tasks.
3. You can easily cross-reference multiple sheets and pull data forward.
4. The form function also greatly reduces efforts in seeking and organizing responses from a large number of people.

The only thing that is a bit annoying is that you have to clear all filters before you can sort a sheet.

Project management.

Efficient Project Management Tool for an L&D Project Manager
What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard feature is a game-changer for organizing and managing projects. It allows me to have a centralized location to keep track of all my tasks, deadlines, and progress. The intuitive interface makes it easy to create visually appealing and informative dashboards that provide a holistic view of my projects.
The ability to keep track of projects and create dependencies for tasks is a standout feature of SmartSheet. It enables me to establish clear relationships between different tasks and ensures that each step of the project is completed in a logical order. This functionality helps me maintain organization and efficiency in my project management process.

What do you dislike about the product?
One area of improvement for SmartSheet is its formulas. While the platform offers powerful formula capabilities, they can be quite challenging to master. The learning curve for creating complex formulas can be steep, especially for users who are not familiar with spreadsheet functions. More guidance or documentation in this area would be greatly beneficial.
It would be great if SmartSheet offered a dedicated learning path or resources to help users become experts in the platform. While there are tutorials and support available, having a structured learning program or a comprehensive guide specifically designed to enhance users' proficiency in using SmartSheet would be highly valuable. This would empower users to unlock the full potential of the software and make the most out of its advanced features.

We currently use Smartsheet to track a project that we are working on with our parent company. It provides both parties an easy-to-read document for updates and the best benefit of Smartsheet is that it tracks any changes made to the document.

There is not anything within smartsheet that I dislike.

What do you dislike about the product?
1) Many formulae are different from Excel and I often have to google the equivalent formula in Smartsheet.
2) Hard to collaborate in real time because saves are required to update sheets. Would be great if smartsheet could autosave in real time like Excel on sharepoint.
3) Sometimes the answer to questions when I reach out to customer support is that I need to pay extra for a different type of license or a custom-made tool.

We mainly use Smartsheet for tracking tasks, organizing data, and workplanning. It has increased efficiency and improved turnaround time for task completion. Gantt charts are helpful for reporting to superiors on team planning.

1. One needs a stable internet connection. Slow connections can't open smart sheet
2. One needs to have the ability to read and write
3. One needs to be having computer literacy skills even though it can be operated on a mobile function

5. Not cost-friendly for startups especially if you want everyone to have the ability to create sheets

Awesome project and task tracking software
What do you like best about the product?
- All the process is web based, and I don't need to install software locally in the user's computers.
- Can transfer sheets between users, useful when users leave.
- the platform is constantly updated with new features, and the community is constructive and active.
- IA companion is very helpfull when we need to figure out the use of a formule.
- The option to create forms and use it offline in the mobile app is awesome.

- New functions have a delay in being implemented.
- The documents repository is in the platform and can't be synced automatically to other File Cloud Storages.
- You can't mix different user licenses. All you users must be in one license type.

If you have users in different cities, countries and you need to have a project and task software for following this work and capable of adapt and integrate with your existing software, Smartsheet must be your first option.

Sharing and collaborating tools are unparalled.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of basic excel-like functions and shortcuts and inability to use keyboard shortcuts is a big limiting factor.

Project management with multiple variables and timelines. We have realized benefits related to sharing and collaboration. Easy-to-construct dashboards have also been very helpful for communication with management on project status.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the functionality Smartsheets has to offer. It helps me stay organize and easy to track and determine my sheets, reports, dossier, etc. it does of has everything within a sheet- a one stop shop.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be frustrating for new users to understand the full potential of Smartsheets. Having more visuals and videos on how to create reports, dossiers, dashboards would be beneficial. I like to make new dashboards but not having the proper tools or examples was time consuming and frustrating for me, I can only imagine this being the same case for others who are new to Smartsheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can have all my sheets in one location. I can tell right away what each sheet is and whether they are a report, dossier, dashboard, etc. I am getting to learn a platform that will help me become a better project manager, manager, but also learn to work with other application groups/members on projects to have success implementations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It would be greatto have more visuals and videos when it comes to creating reports, dashboards, etc.
Good Alternative for Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very useful for our organization because it has online capabilities. We had previously been using microsoft office Excel and it was hard to constantly be saving and resaving the document, to me the best thing about smartsheet is that it is live. It has a much simpler interface than anything on microsoft and is much easier to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every report must have the exact same information as the master sheet. So if you have different reports that would be better suited to have different information, you need to have separate columns where you document it and then only include the necessary columns. Also, each smartsheet line does not have it's own "number" so if you are referring to a line number and then it gets sorted or rearranged, that line number is irrelevant. If you want to give each line a number, you may do so yourself.
You also cannot have a form edit or reference an existing smartsheet line. I get why you wouldn't have that, so people don't fill out your forms and screw up your data, but I often have to manually reconcile duplicative or redundant data that was supposed to go in another line.

We used to have to manually input data from forms and it could be very tedious. The fact that something can be populated on the master sheet is very helpful.
