Filestorage and sharing made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use web GUI in addition to the native desktop client, available for both Windows and Mac. Offline sync, as well as online usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
No native client for Linux. Once a tenant's name has been set in the URL, that can not be changed. Beware, if your company decides to change name. A vanity URL can be used, but the original URL is always present in the background.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Egnyte makes it easy to collaborate with both internal and external contributors. Files are stored securely, and I Can decide to share files and folders with customers without worrying about access to other internal systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you select a good URL, as it can not be changed afterwards.
Great piece of software for sharing/access
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can share files and folders with anyone and control the permissions easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike. Could perhaps be clear on how to administer permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborative working, cross system, eg. I can upload a document via my laptop and access it on my mobile device and vice versa very easily.
Great for company file share
What do you like best about the product?
Local and cloud access to files, quick replication, easy to use interface, ldap integration
What do you dislike about the product?
We've had some problems with files not loading in design software referencing a bunch of linked images hosted on a local egnyte vmware appliance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy file sharing, sending a secure link to an outside resource is easy and quick.
Excellent all round :-)
What do you like best about the product?
Egnyte Cloud is a great product, easy to manage, easy to migrate to and with a great team supporting it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is genuinely nothing with my experience of Egnyte Cloud that I dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main goal was to centralise data storage for over 500 users in six offices in three continents which Egnyte has helped us do perfectly.
Accountant
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use application and works well for our teams at multiple locations
What do you dislike about the product?
Have not experiences any flaws yet, maybe slow sometimes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multiple locations across the country and need to share content.
Egnyte 2019 Review by Me!!!
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and that I can technically access my file(s) for any of the projects I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
That we have 2 servers through Egnyte and I can't have both of the sync in my PC, because I can only access either one, but not both.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't think I'm solving any problems, but it definitely helps keep files updated and able to share with team members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make the dual server to be access through Desktop Sync please!!!
Virtually the single biggest change we've made in years
What do you like best about the product?
We started by moving a departmental file share in Windows that were all off site (remote workers) and after the WOW set in, almost all of the other departments started falling (following) like dominoes.
We had another department using sharepoint to control document access and revisions and it never really satisfied them (enter Egnyte and webedit with permissions that work).
I like having our files onsite and having our appliance handle the sync to and from the cloud.
We have had a tremendous saving in time using link sharing (directly from the MS office plugin).

What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to see some improvements to allow moving from the standard sync appliance to the new turbo appliance.
It would be helpful if some of the results in the reports were sortable by columns in the web interface instead of downloading as a CSV and having to use two screen to hunt down anything that needs to be manually expired when auditing.
I'd like to see a direct integration to workfront BY either workfront and/or egnyte instead of paying a crazy sky high fee to a third party. They could integrate with more vendors (directly).
I think the pricing for add-on storage is steep.

We shared over 8,000 links last year. That's a Terabyte or more of attachments that never hit email and countless files being blocked at one place or another due to type or size. That's a lot of problems solved all at once.
There is a high efficiency when you share a file rapidly from your email client without waiting for anything to upload. The recipient also sees that same efficiency because they can save the file where they want and stop using their email application as a file cabinet.
We use it as part of an file handling workflow to clients and vendors for non-sensitive files (artwork, documents). It's been in place almost 16 months and we have over 60 staff members using it regularly.
The user training seems to be easy complete and it gets adopted fast. Nothing is worthwhile if your user adoption rate is low.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Roll it out in a limited fashion to get a small team to provide feedback and listen to that feedback to make changes to permissions. Then step through one business function or department at a time.
Long-term customer happy with recent deployment of Storage Sync
What do you like best about the product?
Although we do like the WebUI and Desktop UI, both are standard features on many cloud sharing services. We absolutely love having total control of every single folder's permissions and being able to edit them easily in the WebUI.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to edit permissions in the Desktop UI. Not being able to see folder size in the Web UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have many AutoCAD users in each of our multiple offices in different countries Being able to work on files stored locally with the help of StorageSync has really sped up the drafting process. Working on AutoCAD files directly saved on the cloud has been way too slow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox and Box are the bigger names but Egnyte is just as good, if not better.
Egnyte for Construction sites
What do you like best about the product?
Egnyte gave our Business a unique safe repository for all our project sites. Before of that we used to store our information on several servers only reachable via LAN or VPN connections. Now we are able to have all the data available from anytime and anywhere, the only thing we need is connection to the internet. Perfect from a security perspective as well, we do not need to pay attention to firewall rules or data protection.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is pretty specific for Construction business but it would be useful to have some workflow implemented: this is sometime required in order to have approvals or for requesting information on specific documents to an external party.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basically what I mentioned above: data availability and security.
He's close to being the perfect cloud.
What do you like best about the product?
What we like most is being able to access synchronized data on a server like Egnyte Turbo in our office or outter office, the ability to access our data from our smartphone or the ability to search into the trash for deleted items.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things we don't like is that at the moment we don't have the possibility of working with Egnyte in our language; Spanish.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have several offices and being able to work from all of them on the same resources has made us much more agile. Before we could not work from home on our data and now is really comfortable and easy to do thanks to the Egnyte cloud.
