I was amazed by looking at the features of IBM Instana
What do you like best about the product?
deep down tracking of the real time issues and tracing part.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want to see more about security related updates to be competative in the market with other products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my environment, our applicaiton is a big enterprise applicaiton with lots of intergrations with mesaging queue and web services.
IBM Instana providing me the end-to end application level tracing to find the exact problems. Garbage collection level monitoring also very helpful for me.

Great tool to monitor your microservices (on-premise and/or Cloud)

Perhaps one of the biggest problems is the poor marketing of this tool.
I see that it is a tool with a lot of potential (as long as it is used with Turbonomic)

Typically companies have hundreds of microservices. This tool helps monitor these microservices and notify you if any of them are not working well.

What do you like best about the product?
IBM Instana is very easy to use and customer support is very good. It offers a lot of functions and User Interface is very good. Monitoring and tracking is very good

IBM Instana is a bit expensive. It requires a learning curve it requires experience to work on this. Setup can be improved

IBM Instana helps to identify the root cause of the issue and integration is very simple

Instant is pretty rich tool with wide spectre of supported infrastructure endpoints. In comparison with new relic, the tool I have experience with, it is similar or better.

It is not very easy to start working with instant. It is relatively complicated, but not too much

It has a good alerting system and it is possible to prevent incident. Also if you use instant properly behaviour of monitored system could be significantly improved

Instana's paltform monitors applications automatically and provides real-time insights for DevOps. It helps improve performance, innovation, and risk management.

Apart from high pricing and a limited support for legact apps rest is fine. Platform is headed in right direction.

What do you like best about the product?
IBM Instana is a cool application for monitoring my complex applications. The insights are good to decide for our future planning of applications and resources for our cloud platforms. The monitoring by IBM Instana is real-time so that we can see our bottle necks and perform immediate actions if something is not in line.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel the cost of the service is higher compared to other similar softwares in the market. The learning curve of IBM Instana is higher, where experienced persons only can effectively use the service. This service is exclusively built for some platforms where others find it difficult to perform certain task

I use IBM Instana for managing and monitoring my application performance. We identify the applications' bottlenecks in real-time and make necessary processes. The service also helps us identify the root cause of the issues and provides various insights around it. The correlation among the various complex components is handled by this service.

- It is hard not to notice a slowdown in innovation since the IBM acquisition. While stability is essential, we all carve fresh features and improvements.
- Instana offers a smorgasbord of monitoring capabilities. Some features shine, but others lag behind. It is a bit of a mixed bag.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated anomaly detection done for us. It follows best practices and is done in an integrated way that would be difficult to accomplish on our own.
Good experience, great data points, helpful in identifying issues and debugging.
What do you like best about the product?
End-to-end tracing which pans across Frontend and Backend. To be able to identify 1 request through FE Web or Mobile app to gateway to downstream service gives a complete idea that what is going on.
What do you dislike about the product?
For web observability SDK, while the platform provides great insights like breakdown of latency's and tcp/ip handshake latency and other vitals, it misses out on giving a clear picture to identify total latency observed by the end user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I mentioned earlier, the end-to-end tracing for a request is a great help also Mobile and Website monitoring are great to see what is going on a user session level.

I believe that the time to receive information from .net applications could be better
