I appreciate that IBM Apptio provides a central location for all our IT expenses, which simplifies management greatly. When the data inputs are accurate, all tables are updated properly, apptio provides great insights to our IT costs and chargebacks. The cost allocations are precise, which adds a layer of financial accuracy that our company needs. The ability to customize cost allocation rules to fit our specific requirements is an invaluable feature that aligns perfectly with our business desires.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it complicated to explain the cost mapping structure to customers using IBM Apptio. The process of mapping cost pools to towers and then to services creates complexity. It makes it hard to navigate back to the original cost pools, which becomes challenging when trying to communicate the cost details effectively to clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Apptio to track IT expenses, determine total cost of ownership, understand service levels, and provide detailed chargeback costs. It centralizes IT expenses ensuring accurate cost allocation customized as per company rules.

I am frustrated by IBM Apptio being slow when saving data. This issue is exacerbated by the fact that if I click out of the tab before the save is complete, it does not retain the entry, causing additional frustration and inefficiency in my workflow.
