Iconik Just Gets It!
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and simplicity. It doesn’t try to do too much, but what it does do, it does really well. Being cloud-native makes collaboration super smooth, and I love how easy it is to search and preview assets. The UI feels clean and modern compared to other MAMs I’ve used.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing can get a little confusing as you scale, especially with storage and user seats. Also, while the platform is solid overall, the occasional lag or sync delay with cloud storage integrations can slow things down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iconik helps us keep all our media assets organized and accessible from anywhere, which is huge for a remote team. No more digging through drives or asking someone to send a file, everything’s in one place, searchable, and shareable. It’s saved us a lot of time tbh.
The good and the bad (please fix the search function)
What do you like best about the product?
Fresh interface, ability to do a "fake sign in" for other users to see if their account is behaving like you want it to.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature is very clunky and convoluted. While I prefer Iconik over CatDV, the CatDV remote query is how search should work. You pick a field (or fields) that you want to search and then you type in your keywords. No syntax, code, etc. It's very user friendly and quick to search huge numbers of files. If your metadata is solid you should be able to find things quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to scan millions of files is great. I'm still struggling with the search function though (see previous comments).
A good MAM that is lacking several key features
What do you like best about the product?
Organization within collections are well done.
The storage gateway feature to allow tracking of assets in both cloud and on premise locations is a great feature that I use.
Sharing assets and collections out to non-Iconik is easy on both ends.
Customizable metadata filters are great.
Taking screenshots is quick and easy.
Fast response times from Iconik Support Team.
Price of Iconik is very resonable compared to other options out there. Definitely on the more cost effective end.
Easy API Integration into many other products.
Overall east of use from a user perspective.

Needs a basic editing tool to cut together different assets.
More AI integration for faces and logo's.
Deletion process could be easier when deleting file types within an asset from multiple assets.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For being a startup company, Iconik is providing us with a great MAM at a great price. Having the ability to have our assets tracked in the cloud and on prem is a huge help for our editors. Storage Gateways are also allowing us to upload footage during a live sports broadcast to Iconik so that our editors can get to them remotely. We have editors and users all over the country.
One of the best media management platorms
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about iconik is its ease of use and implementation, and clean interface even with large volumes of media, it’s easy to search, preview, organize, and share assets. Also the number of features is impressive like remote collaboration and powerful search tools. I also love how iconik supports a wide range of media formats and integrates well with creative tools like Adobe Premiere Pro.
What do you dislike about the product?
While iconik is a strong platform, I think something that can be improved which is the pricing model. I see it may be a bit high for small teams or freelancers especially when scaling up with large storage needs or multiple users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
iconik helps manage the growing media library across multiple teams and locations. It solves the challenge of disorganized content and unclear versioning. With iconik, we can easily find, tag, share, and review media content in real-time which improves both the creative output and team efficiency.
Flexible and Modern Media Management
What do you like best about the product?
What really stands out about iconik is how simple it makes managing and accessing media from anywhere. The hybrid cloud approach is incredibly useful. I can keep files on local storage and still collaborate in real time through the cloud. The user interface is clean and intuitive, and the AI tagging/search features save a ton of time when trying to locate older assets. It’s lightweight, fast, and surprisingly easy to onboard team members, even those who aren’t super tech-savvy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing I wish was better is the pricing structure, it can get a bit expensive as your storage and user count grows. Also, while the platform is powerful, some of the advanced configuration options could be more accessible without having to dive into documentation or support. A few times I found myself wishing there was more in-app guidance or tooltips.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
iconik is solving the huge challenge of decentralized media management. Before using it, our team struggled with scattered files across local drives, cloud platforms, and physical storage making collaboration, access, and version control a nightmare. iconik brings all our media into one searchable, organized place, regardless of where the files are actually stored.

its cloud-native approach, ease of use, proxy editing workflows, customizable metadata fields, scalability, cost-effectiveness, seamless integration with Adobe Suite, and robust security features.
What do you dislike about the product?
its limited AI capabilities, steep learning curve for advanced features, limited support for certain file formats, occasional glitches, and pricing limitations for large teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
media management problems by providing a centralized hub, streamlining collaboration, automating metadata tagging, and ensuring scalability and security, it is benefiting our business by improving collaboration, reducing costs and increasing our general productivity.

Asset types are limited. Camera media, image sequences, or other custom assets types would be great.

Life Changing
What do you like best about the product?
I love the way it has helped my team and network of freelancers to break away from the rusty anchors of hard drives and expensive servers. Recently, one of our freelancers uploaded 150 clips from Kinshasa. He then added keywords and the name of interviewees to his work. That day, I can honestly say I was rather moved. It all started when Mattia showed us around Iconik and sent us a trial version with 1 hour of first meeting him. He totally lifted the veil of mystery from things like Azure. On the day we met Mattia and Iconik, we were almost up and running. That day, cloud based severs had lost most of its mysticism.

-ability to plug into many cloud space in a really simple way.
-ability to move data from one server to another through Iconik.
-ability to add time coded comments, then used as subtitle guide.
-ability to connect clips to consent forms etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I truly dislike but I know that soon batch upload will be a little bit easier. Every time I think about this, I also reality check myself: "Here I am, expecting to upload hundreds GB of footage through my bog standard wifi". Yep, Iconik has turned me into this guy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves a range of challenges that we thought were highly technical and expensive. EVERYONE with the right permission and the weakest internet access can now browse our footage. Matias in Barcelona: yes. Alain in Goma: yes. Bintou in Niamey: yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. it's now just so easy to find footage, check it's consented, transcribe interviews and annotate exports. Wait. Somebody wants to withdraw their consent and we've got to restrict access to all the footage in which they feature: easy. easy. easy. And so on.
